Pensacola, Fl in the house! Benny is a treasure. My dad made friends with Benny in the late 80's, and they often had breakfast together at the McDonalds on Palafox on Saturday mornings. One day, my dad told Benny He'd talked to my future mom on the telephone in New Orleans, and he was going to meet her. Benny told my dad " go to Tower Records and pick up Benny Spellman's greatest hits." My dad said " who's that?" And Benny said "That's me!" True story. And this 27 year old white boy grew up on this, and soooo many of his other hits that arent on youtube, and I am so blessed.
