@@redbat5084 thats not right. Its blinking because normally b20 is supposed to rev up to 8500, this car revs almost 9500. Thats why its coming up, as soon as he shifts, rev comes down, it goes away. The sensor, which tracks the location of valves, isnt programmed to read after 8500. Thats the reason it comes up.
Honda. My first car was an Honda, apart from warming it properly, it was beaten everyday, few were the days it didn't go on redline, even went on a trackday with it. Went from 163k to 198k on my hands with no mechanical problems, and that's when I sold it.
if its a b20v thats built right then it doesnt matter. my b20v has been in my car for 2 years and seen alot of track days. my gas cut off is 9200. all ive done to it in that 2 years (other than normal maintenance) is my Lost motion assembly, and piston rings in cylinder 4( and that was my fault because i set them at 90 degrees like honda recommends instead of 180 like you should for lsv and b20v)

This is not a VTEC! This is the normal without VTEC, with the VTEC there were other speeds, since the red area started at over 8000 RPM and the label went up to 10,000 RPM.
Its vtec. You can clearly hear the sound changing after 5.2krpm, because of valves opening longer. Top speed is not just about the power, transmission has a big part of that. Gauge is original crx gauge which has d16a9, revs 7800 when its hot, 7200 when cold, thats why redline starts at 7200. This car revs up to almost 9.5krpm. So yes, this car is vtec.
@@crxrick No you are wrong , I used to have one of these 16 16i civic 130 hp zc engine. When I advanced the distributor to the max the check engine light will always came on. If you observe the light symbol you will find that it is of the check engine. I know what I'm telling you.
