When we see and hear this from Supreme Court Justices we, The People loose faith in the Supreme Court. We must eliminate the electoral college, we are technologically able to choose our President by popular vote. One citizen, one vote.
That sounds too much like mob rule. I'd rather require that anyone who is inaugurated wins both the electoral & popular vote. If nobody wins then we repeat the process until someone does so each POTUS represents a real majority. Also, the SCOTUS is never to proclaim one candidate wins over another: that is literally legislating from the bench, by determining who leads the legislature.

A presidential election being repeated over and over until a candidate wins both the electoral college and the popular vote could possibly reach months past the inauguration that always takes place in January. So, which POTUS during that time period would be acting president? The former, or the presumed winner of that years presidential election?

Wasn't the question before SCOTUS whether or not a POTUS has total immunity? Not to dissect and split hairs about which acts are considered official duties and those which are personal acts? That debate could go on for eternity. It's a cut a dry answer. A POTUS does not have TOTAL immunity.

The MAGA--orientated SCOTUS know that sending this back to the lower courts so they have to debate which acts were private and which were official will save Trump if not forever (if he wins election) then at least for a few years. The only one that can save you, is yourself and your fellow Americans. Voters and non voters. This is a democracy. We are in this situation because of the American voters and non voters. No one is coming to save US. That is what a democracy is. We have the power with our vote(s). Whether we appreciate that power or not. The American people continue to vote, or not vote, for the evangelical republican cult, that has been subverting our democracy since Reagan was overwhelmingly elected by a majority of American in 1980. I am English and have followed trumps antics for a while now, and unlike his maga followers i see him for who and what he is, believe me nothing favourable in my opinions of him whatsoever. However i thought at the time of his appointments of several judges to the supreme court, that at some point in the future he would ask for a favour, for appointments for lifelong jobs.
