Lantern Leaves SILLY Videos: • Silly Lantern Leaves
The depths of the earth are an unforgiving place, and Hollyleaf was unfortunate enough to get trapped there. She discovers hope of escape when a curious (and timid) spirit, Fallen Leaves, offers to be her guide. He has the power to glow, providing Hollyleaf with the light she needs to navigate the tunnels.
This power isn’t unlimited. Fallen Leaves’ whiskers burn up the more he uses it. When the two get separated in the tunnels, Fallen Leaves uses up his whiskers in an attempt to find Hollyleaf. The drawings on the wall come to life, reflecting the spirit’s panic. Hollyleaf is more calm when lost, working gradually through the tunnels in search of her guide.
Hollyleaf finds Fallen Leaves when he’s used up all his lights and fading away. Fallen Leaves comes to peace in his final moments now that he’s reunited with his friend. Perhaps they would’ve been able to escape together if Hollyleaf searched faster, or if Fallen leaves rationed his lights out more.

The project was conceptualized on November 12th, 2021, when I was listening to "Doubt Comes In" during my Digital Media class. It's a song that makes me emotional each time. I've learned a lot from the MAPs I've been hosting and it felt appropriate to use Hollyleaf and Fallen Leaves for the narrative of Eurydice and Orpheus (... again). Although Eurydice is the one we lose in the original myth, I felt this version of the story worked better if it was Fallen Leaves who passed on. Pre-production started in June/July of 2022 and I'm grateful my friends were enthusiastic to help. A lot of changes happened to the story and art direction, but a theme that remained constant was love and light. Fallen Leaves inspires Hollyleaf to gain confidence and acts as a beacon of hope.
It was a pleasure to work with all of the participants. I met a lot of artists and they truly gave the project their all. I hope you all will see passion and dedication everyone put into this MAP.

Dang- I almost cried during this one. The symbols mixed with the art is amazing! By the way the murals on the walls move to represent how Lanturn Leaves feels and Holly picking up the firefly in the caves and setting it free in the wild, like she was freeing Lanturn leaves from the caves. All the animators who worked on this are amazing. I tip my non-existent hat to Hollyfawn and Lanturn leaves for an awesome Hollyween :)
I love the detail of fallenleaves slowly losing whiskers throughout the map
This was so emotional. I feel so bad for FallenLeaves, it’s sad that they found each other but got split up again. Hollyleaf is having a good time yet FallenLeaves is so alone and scared, his death scene was just AAHH WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THIS :(( this was amazing, happy HOLLYWEEN!
I think he died another time to save hollyleaf when she needed it, and vanished forever
Lantern leaves was sooo good. Holly leaf is my second fav character and my black cat with green eyes watched the map with me. This was amazing

I love the little details put into it!
At first, fallenleaves had 6 luminous whiskers on his face, but when hollyleaf is drinking water he has has sad look for a moment as one of his whiskers had vanished already
When he started to lalalala he only had 3 whiskers left, and when he curled up before fading away the light was coming from his last whisker

I feel honored to be a part of this incredible project! Everyone did their absolute best to bring this MAP to completion and the results are TRULY BREATHTAKING!!
I LOVED THIS! The designs were so fun and unique, yet not too complicated! Everyone's parts were so smooth, and I loved the raw emotions behind the ending. The firefly flying into the sun as a way to still "watch" Hollyleaf is so cool
I absolutely adore the Warriors MAPs we get nowadays. The way they do different themes and picture how it would be in this way and different ways it could've happened in this different area, story take based off of old tale, or MYTH! So it's quite amazing to see this take based off of the Greek tale. I think.
This MAP is super neat- I noticed that as Fallen'Leaves was losing hope she started losing whiskers, so that's cool.

I didn’t know anything about this MAP before watching it in full, but WOW this is easily one of the most consistent and transformative MAPs I’ve seen. I love Hadestown to absolute bits and the story and direction completely changed the context of this song for an equally compelling story.
Speaking of the direction, AMAZING environment for this MAP. It feels huge and all together at once, which is so hard to do across so many styles and colors.
I AM SO GLAD TO SEE PEOPLE USING HADESTOWN SONGS FOR MAPS!!!! THEY ALWAYS TURN OUT AMAZING!

THIS IS BEAUTIFUL, the art the way it was all portrayed all the creators did A STUPENDOUS JOB!!! The music really matched well to, and the concept is really cool to, the way that fallen leaves is searching frantically, and hollyleaf doesn’t mind to much that she’s lost, but Fallen leave is using all he has to find her. And they both pay the prices. It’s really good, made me kinda tear up🥲
OK THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!! It would make a FANTASTIC platformer game!! The concept is amazing and heartbreaking but so hauntingly beautiful!! AMAZING JOB EVERYONE!!!

Seeing this right after being able to see Hadestown in person made this so much more impactful to me. This is a gorgeous map full of emotion and wonderful artists.

THIS WAS FANTASTIC. I loved this and Hollyfawn such unique maps I love them both! The story telling the song that was picked and I loved how the animators animated this
This was such a creative and sweet concept! Everything flowed together beautifully and it ended up being very emotional
This is seriously such an honour to be apart of a MAP like this. I missed the premier but omg everyone's parts were beautiful and it all came together so well. This MAP almost made me cry, I knew it was coming but damn it got me. This is just. I love this MAP it's beautiful and amazing and just wow. I wish you luck on further MAP hosting and I'm super glad this one came out as well as it did.

As a participant of this map I may be a little biased but this is definitely one of my favourite maps, 100% cried
This was absolutely gorgeous. Honestly, the visuals, the aesthetic, and the story- how it blended with the song. This exceeded my expectations ❤ and I’m so happy it’s now engrained in the algorithm. Everyone should see this

I love all the symbolism, designs and art direction on this map so much, it all works together so well.. all the participants' work has been amazing to watch as well, everything from the characters to the backgrounds and effects have all been a treat to watch. The credits sequence had me sat there for a second too it was so emotional :'D Huge kudos to everyone on their work & to Leti for hosting this, and tysm for letting me be a part of it (and letting me draw the eggboy)!

SOBBING ITS HERE!! I've been looking at everyone's parts as the project was coming along but it did not prepare me for how beautiful the final was! This was such a blast to work on and I actually almost cried at a few of the scenes. Splendid job from everyone, I'm really glad to have been able to work on this with you all!
Being a part of this project was an amazing experience! Everyone did an amazing job, and it was so cool to see the behind the scenes of how an awesome map like this gets made.
