Folks he didn’t say it, but Don’t turn on the pump or plug in until everything is filled with water. You will ruin a pump in a hurry if that pump isn’t in the water at the proper depth. I might also recommend a filter arrangement to keep the leaves out etc. Did you fill the bottles with water. That should hold them down without rocks. You want lots of water or it will keep evaporating or the animals will drink out of the basin... I would wire that jar to a piece of SS pipe to hold it in place from storms, earthquakes, kids, dogs, etc. Believe me, they can fall over. I find it best to dig all top soil out and put sand in then twist the np basin in place. My first one the soil gives way, gets lumpy etc and before you know it it’s no longer sitting level. You set the jar close to one side, and pound the pipe into the outside soil about 18-20” down and leave the pipe about to the top of the decorative pot height and run copper wire round and round the lip and over to the pipe and secure well. I would make it a bit taller ..the pipe in the jar , just a but taller so it flows over. And it needs to be full of water. My concern is the dirt in the water will burn your pump out. You can also put a little head on it to spray which is pretty and a different type bubbler. Thanks for sharing.

Great project, planning to use your idea however I am going to place a matching dinner plate at the top for a shallow birdbath that the butterflies and hummingbirds can use.

What a great yard! Great video! For me, I would bury a much bigger reservoir so I don't have to check the water level so often. On a hot day it could run out of water due to evaporation and burn your pump out. I use wire mesh on top of my reservoir (with a milk crate under as support for fountain to sit on)and put the rocks on top of the mesh. Use way less rock and lots more water to protect your pump. The size of the reservoir determines how often you must refill the water. LOVE your water bottle and leveling tips!

I absolutely love this video. It inspired me to go to goodwill to find a lamp base, of which I found a perfect one, take it apart and buy the remaining items needed for my fountain. I am following your instructions s and with your instructions, I know I will be successful, too. Thank you for sharing your talent.

This is hands down one of the easiest assemblies I’ve seen. I was just gifted a beautiful vase and I’m definitely going to try this method In my new memorial garden. ❤️

Just a suggestion: add a ring of stiff (like fibreglass) insect screen over the bottom section and another one just inside the rim of the pot. If it's secure enough you can add a few rocks on top of it, plus the fine mesh with help to stop debris and dirt getting in. Just a thought! I love this water feature though and your garden is spectacular!

I have made different versions of these fountains, one thing people forget is you now have to take it apart to clean the filter that's in the pump once in awhile. But you whole back yard looks amazing

I just found this video 3 yrs later. It was fun to watch & follow the process. I like that it was a real experience with what could go wrong & how to fix whatever does. You made me want to try putting in a water fountain myself. I’m so glad I found this channel. You’re a real inspiration. Yes, indeed, you’re landscaping is awesome. Thank you so much. Also, I’m going to look for your other past videos 👏👏👏👏👏
