Under current laws, a spouse of American citizen can apply and get a green card in few months. I don’t understand why we need this executive order.

They are here and they are working and they are paying Taxes.. does that not give you pause as to how they can be "Illegals" if the Government itself is taking a portion of their wages in the form of Taxes? Obviously the Government knows exactly where these folks live and work and what rate they should pay in the way of Taxes. We have massive backlogs in getting folks cases heard and determined in the immigration Courts, and it would sure appear that the Government is not in any massive rush to expand upon the system that allows folks to remain in limbo for often times decades. It is wrong to imply that these people who are working hard , paying their taxes and praying for their Cases to be heard as being "Illegals". The reality is that a vast number of these people did come here on work permits, or as asylum seekers etc. The Government knows where they are, how to reach them and sure has no qualms about accepting their Tax dollars, so try to see why many feel it is wrong to blame these people and not consider that it is the Government itself that needs to get to work at resolving the insane immigration backlogs.

I work in community college and when DACA became an option, I saw the hope and lifeline it gave tomillions of bright and aspiring students. No more living in the shadows. My son’s wife is from the Philippines and we can’t get her here without spending about 10-15 thousand dollars on lawyers fees and others. She is a school teacher and has a job with our local school when she gets here. What a shame that it is so hard to come to America when you have such skills that we need here. There is not enough teachers in America anymore 😅
