Scoutcrafter sent me Paul. Nice presentation, glad to see you've cleared the 50k hurdle. I'll need to start from your oldest video and work to the present. Looking forward to it.
Scoutcrafter said you need to give him a model A he is in love with them, ok maybe not give him the car but at least let him drive one around for a day. It would make his day. He sent us all over to check out your channel and subscribe. So here we are.
I got a pair for my A a year ago. I thought they were a little pricey but the first drive convinced me that they were worth every penny! Thanks for letting everyone know about these! I also have LED taillights and was able to set the generator back to about 4 amps. It still charges with the lights on!
Yes, but in order to get this valuable information, someone had to already be a MAFCA member and subscribed to the magazine. I reach them AND everyone else, especially all the future MAFCA members!
Something I found that really helped on my car when I had it, a friend of mine came over and hooked a ground wire from the inside of the body of the can down to the frame. That extra ground really helped in the brightness department. I don't know how much it would do with these leds, but I had the thinned LEDs that you showed originally and it even brighten those up. Yet again paul, great video
That's kinda common. Someone didn't make sure the light bar was making food connection to the fender brackets. That wire made the ground connection instead.
Hello Paul this is Ralph I was recommended to go to your channel from Scout crafter and I watch him religiously and if he says you're a good guy and you got a great Channel I also feel that I'm going to enjoy it and I will definitely be watching your Channel
Thanks for the Bulb to Bulb comparison, Paul! It looks to me that these focused bulbs have way better coverage side to side also. Both sides of the road seem to be better lit. Great product - Great job!! Hope you two have a wonderful weekend! de Benton
I went ahead and bought two of these from Mike's. When I installed them, the high-beam wouldn't work on one of them. I called Mike's and got a call back. I was told that there is a known defect where the lens isn't oriented properly. The bulbs come in a grey bag with an allen wrench and microscopic directions, identifying this issue and how to loosen the allen screws, rotate the lens and re-tighten them They work fine after that. ;-)
Interesting that it wouldn't work at all until you made the adjustment. I have bought and installed 3 pairs of these so far, and they have all worked right out of the box (so far). I got lucky!
@@ModelA One worked fine. The other worked fine on low beam, but when you switched to high beam, it aimed slightly downward. I turned it 180 degrees (black line down) and still the same thing. It wasn't until I removed the bulb, undid the allen screw, rotated the housing, re-tightened and re-installed that it worked fine (??huh??) By the way, thanks for all your great info. I have a 1930 Fordor with a rebuilt model A engine from Schwaub's Babbeted Bearings and a Mitchell Overdrive. Hope to meet up with you sometime (I'm in Central Massachusetts)
Hi Friends! It is really interesting and amazing to see how much lighting systems for automobiles and even the home have progressed just over the last 20 years or so! Those prefocused ones are SUPER bright! Thanks again for sharing! Have a GREAT weekend!
Hey Paul! Thanks so much for this demonstration!! We were thinking of making the investment for the self focusing now we can make it without hesitation. You rock my friend!!
Paul, I noticed that your engine has that annoying knock, knock sound when idling. My car does also. I was going to remove the oil pan and check the tolerence on the journals. I checked the valve clearance on both the intake and exhaust.

There is a certain adjustment to make to the pre focused. Its important that the black stripe is on top when its in the fixture!
That assumes your headlight buckets are wired properly! Swap the high and low beam wires, and the stripe would have to go pointed down.
