i always loved the micromachines soldiers and people from galoob (roughly HO scale), any gundam figure line would be smart to copy such ideas even if they were "oversized" like HO, as they were for the micromachines cars.

I think the recolored V-Fin was more of a general design change made at that point of the series since just before Karen's unit gets her head knocked off in episode 9 it had the same color change.
I couldn’t remember if it changed prior to the Gouf Custom fight or during. That’s good to know
I literally never noticed until I saw this option set. It’s a really weird random change.
9/10 set, I love this thing. Including some firing effects or thruster effects would have made this 10/10 but of course that’s a pipe dream you ever get enough of those.
I’m sad because I don’t have any of the orange thruster effects with straight pegs for the Dopp.
I pulled the ones from the Gouf Flight Type for this review
Twice as expensive as it should be. Honestly for ~50$ they could have thrown in a Magella tank and/or a type-61

My decision still stands on the usefulness of this set. It's great for diorama setups but I was expecting more moving parts on the hover truck or least more weight to it. The Dop is the best part of this set but given the price, more pieces or effect parts would have been nice. Regarding the GM head, I found the one included in the option parts set to be a little loose but not like yours. However, the GM head off the Ground Type has a more snug feel oddly enough.
That’s crazy that they’re shipping the heads loose like that. The thing with the Hover Truck is there really isn’t much more they could have done to give it more articulation
@@UCRDReviews You're right on the hover truck. Just unrealistic expectations on my part. As for the head, I don't see the difference between the Ground Type and the one in this set yet somehow they fit different, at least for me. I liked the poses you made with the "desert" theme. Do you plan on doing a vid showing some or all of you collection?
@@junrosamura645 yes I do. I want to finish my Gundam room before I do but other things keep getting in the way
I will say the hovertruck is well put together and has more accessories than many mobile suites

I've been wanting to get these option sets but I'm not sure since I don't know how well they scale with 1/144 scale kit as I saw an often set that had the dessert GM cannon and I want to make a custom model but I'm not sure how well these option set weapons work with gunpla
They should scale fine. People pose these with Gunpla online
Most modern Robot Damashii are done in 1/144 scale. I have a few and they scale perfectly with my HGs.
I might buy it just for the Dopp and the hovertruck

I like the vehicles, but that GM head is a problem all across the board.. everyone I knew who got the set has problems with too loose or even too tight
Yeah that’s just unacceptable for such a standard accessory
@@UCRDReviews if you got the early JP release it is likely too loose, the Bluefin copies are slightly too tight
Maybe sanders gray V fin was a modification later in the war to reduce signature? I don’t know.
The front landing gear for the Dopp is not quite properly sized. you have to force it into place. Word to the wise
Mine wasn’t quite that bad but it did take a bit of force
I'm tempted to buy this for the accesories and to kitbash the GM head onto my HGUC ground gundam. Might make more sense than buying a whole extra model kit to recreate Karen's suit lol.

This is a pretty cool set but idk if I'll be getting it. I feel like it should have come with the thruster effects for the dopp and maybe some firing effects as well for the price. Since you were discussing the first option set and its problems, I'll say I actually really like it. There's definitely some weight issues with the bazooka firing effect but I've had little issue with the missile launcher effect. You kinda have to get the arm in a slightly sideways bent position and get most of the launcher resting against the shoulder, then it works well enough
My Missile Launcher just completely falls to pieces at any given moment. The little front pieces don’t connect securely and then each individual missile compartment falls off easily
@@UCRDReviews Maybe it's just a thing of the launcher you got being more loose. I wouldn't be surprised if thats the case with how robot spirits is sometimes. You could maybe try using blu tack to hold in the compartments, thats what I do whenever something is loose on a figure.
@@beromane well, my EFSF Weapons Set launcher was exactly the same and everyone else I know that has either one of these sets has the same problem. I think you actually got lucky haha
Is there a even a point to those being detachable? I’d glue them down honestly.
I haven’t taken mine out of the box yet.
@@barkingapollo I don't think so lol. I usually take off a component to put the effect parts on then stick the component back on, otherwise I have no use for it
Wow! What is that bazooka with the ground Gundam? Never seen that on a MSIA or gunpla. Did it come with the Spirits figure?
Option set 1 came with the Rocket Launcher and Missile Launcher
@@UCRDReviews ah, that's not the one I meant actually. The thumbnail shows an AT-4 looking bazooka on the left. Maybe it was the net launcher from the anime, for the Apsalus? I've never seen that before, and since Robot Damashii is the one thing I don't follow primarily because of price, I figure it has to come with something from that.

I have my shipping for my EZ8 and my option part 3 set that comes with the federation fighter .
I have a few bucks left over to spend with Amazon do you think I should buy this option part set or the first one with the weapons/rocket launchers
The bazooka goes with EZ8 and I just got a ground GM so the rocket launcher can go with him - but the zeon fighter would look cool with the federation fighter from option set 3
I would say to get this set. The other set is cool but the Missile Launcher sucks

Can’t wait for your EZ8 and option part 3 review ! I got out of robot spirits for a bit but recently rewatched 08th ms team and thunderbolt and then bought the new gouf custom and now I’m re addicted to robot spirits
