    I'm glad i stumbled upon your video. I just got lucky by picking up a 1995 IMP with 97k miles. I got a deal because the guy couldn't figure out the intermittent misfiring, hesitation after it warmed up. Me owning a 1996 Fleetwood knew it either is the OPTI, vacuum lines, or wires are burned from header contact. Lucky for me, it was the 2 vacuum line that go to the evap canister purge valve. $.50 in hoses later, I got a nicely running IMP. Now its time to address some maintenance and then the upgrades.

    I just saved a 96 roadmaster from the demo derby people. Speed isn’t super important to me but having fun with it is. Gonna mod this engine and run the miles up til it blows before I think about an LS swap. Definitely gonna do a T-56 swap before a mess with the engine internals. Making the car more fun doesn’t always mean adding more power. Manual swaps with just an intake, exhaust and tune are an absolute riot. Tires and brakes are often overlooked. My only justification for an LS swap someday is completely for practicality reasons. I’ve got 3 other beaters with LS based engines so I have all the parts and maintenance items on the shelf as well as service info. Just carrying parts for one platform is really nice, keeps the cost down and makes shopping unnecessarily.

      Torqhead is sort of proprietary for the most part IMO. But it's super simple and easy to swap back to stock as opposed to the other LT to LS PCM conversions. Pricey as hell though

    I got a 95 I got a broken exhaust manifold bolt how do I remove it and is it a difference in the john moss edition impala or do they all have the signature on the dash.

    • @nikothevirgo
      @nikothevirgo  2 роки тому +1

      About the manifold bolt honestly if you have the time and space I'd just do it with the engine outside the car and rebuild it while you're at it maybe depending on how bad or deep it's broken have a head shop or machine shop get the broken bolt out of the head & redo the hole shouldn't cost too much for them to do it & that's only if it's real deep. There's a few videos on how to do it on other cars but our car are a bit different as far as clearance and again depending on how bad it is it may not be the easiest to do it in the car in my opinion. And I'm pretty sure there's no real mechanical difference between the john moss edition and other impalas alot of guys like to have him sign their dash and their trunk lids at car shows I've seen a bunch of them do it. It adds a nice touch to the car having his signature 💯

      Built rear (3.73s or 4.10s) big stall a well built fully forged rotating assembly LE2 or LE3 top end and a small shot of nitrous with a good tune should get you there fairly easy. Karl Ellwein and Mike Harris have done it without nitrous or a blower of some sort all natural.

    Clear image automotive has been reported as the best but prices are extremely high for headers the pacesetters long tubes for f body Camaros have been said to have great fitment and great access to spark plugs on f &b body cars ever thought about trying a pair of them and they're way cheaper ceramic coated on summit about 550

    • @nikothevirgo
      @nikothevirgo  2 роки тому

      I wouldn't bother. I've never heard of any other headers outside of BBK headers working properly for B-Bodies. Plus Dan actually owns one of these (bought his 95 in 95) & every product he sells is guaranteed to fit & has been in the game over two decades almost 23 years so I don't think there's any company that could even come close to the fitment CIAs have and the quality. BBK is cool if you're on a budget but I'd rather do it right the first time no heat wrapping different parts under the hood no cutting & bending no fabrications etc etc. His stuff is so proven in the lt1 B-Body game that when you ask about headers in the racing group they'll say try-y & also throw in a BBK then end the thread 🤣🤣 seriously
