Imagine a piece of music written in the seventeenth century being uploaded onto twentyfirst century technical medium. Being and enjoyed 350 years later.
Almost miraculous. Achingly beautiful. Classical music is the greatest art, because it can’t be counterfeited. Also, it’s reborn - fresh and new - every time it’s played well.
The perfect rhythmic coordination is accomplished by feeling it throughout the body. Since both arms are occupied with instruments and bows, other physical signs help all stay together: visible intake of breaths, leaning in, raising the instrument or shoulders, and moving the mouth. Many conductors silently signal subdivisions with their mouth.
clavichord has been rarely used for basso continuo, and then again, modern strings cannot be balanced adequately with a harpsichord, less so even with a clavichord.
My favorite by Purcell 🎶🎧
Hauntingly beautiful. What a spectacular performance.

Sounds so rich. Thank you to all the talented musicians
Beautiful performance ! Thank you so much :)
Para mí la más bella versión de esta gran pieza del genial Purcell
A wonderful performance of an incredible work. You can hear how a work like this might have influenced Britten's Simple Symphony.
muy bien!! ps i'm not spanish, just learning spanish in my school
Smukt !
0:52 what is he doing with his mouth

very well played, but I think this one works better in a full string orchestra

Beautiful playing but even Britten wouldn't approve of this romantic performance.
I can't see any Red Indians in the audience. Why not? Why were they killed?
Whattttt??? No idea where you're going with this.
deenibeeniable Me neither. I just like coming out with random stuff like this now and again. It's my way of letting off steam. Take no notice.
Excellent approach. I might adopt it.
deenibeeniable Do.
You can't see them because they don't want you to see them. Take it for granted: they are there.
This composition definitely needs a clavichord.
