LYRICS
I swear I never meant to erase you
I swear I never meant to do you harm
If living is so delicate my leaving is a tourniquet
I’m breathing in the broken window pane
Annihilate
The only ties I have left to lose
In diamond shapes, the lattice breaks
I follow
In this state of hysteria
I can save everything I betrayed
Annihilate
The lattice breaks
I follow the pain I create
Hide my blood in images and make sense of a false connection like
How did I get here?
How do I hold on
To diamonds in my head
And diamonds in my lungs?
Annihilate
The only ties I have just to lose someone
In diamond shapes, the lattice breaks
I follow
In this state of hysteria
I can save
everything I betrayed
Annihilate
The lattice breaks
I follow the pain I create
What I’ve created as violent delights in my head
Will have a violent end
A broken violent end
And I feel fear disintegrate
Axis annihilate
In crystal clarity
Tension pulling me in the shadows
#Spiritbox #Hysteria
Man. This band and their breakdowns. Spiritbox has this way of hiding a thermonuclear explosion inside a fluffy pink cloud.
I think this is the best description of their sound I've ever heard, 100%
They definitely do that's one of the reasons why I love them so much. The band is perfect imo. She sounds so beautiful then KA BOOM!! 💣💥
What's fluffy and pink about it? Because a woman is singing it makes it feminine?
Hate the singing/droning, like the rest.
@@iinventedadrian how dense are you? It sounds like a pop song until the breakdown. Pop = fluffy. God you toolbags always want to make something it's not. Chill not everyone is trying to make a political statement in YT comments. Stop searching for hidden messages to cry about.
that breakdown got me crawling down the stairs backwards
😆 I love it!
Seriously! My eyes popped wide open.
I don't know how they manage to continue to shock me, I've been obsessively listening for nearly two years now but that breakdown absolutely floored me.
🤣🤣🤣
Very brutal lol I love this band.
Lol really xD did you levitate back up the entire set of stairs after you were done backwards crawling down?
I am convinced that Spiritbox was sent from the future to save music.
YES! Have a Like!
DUDE SAME 😭🤣
Yeah right. These fuckin losers will never leave a stamp like bands like Morbid Angel or Deicide. This shit is a joke what am I even listening to? Take me back to 1992.....
They are phenomenal 🖤
That breakdown broke both of my ankles, Courtney! BOTH OF THEM DAMMIT!
Get well soon!
Hers too.
Ow! Broke! My ankles are broken...my ankles are broke!" - "His ankles are broken." - "I got broken ankleeeeeeees!
RIP 💀🫡
*Patiently waits for Courtney to make a live 1-take of Hysteria*
I’m SAYING
Like I actually need it as soon as possible lol
The number of times I've watched "Circle with me" 1 take is beyond ridiculous. Can't wait for Hysteria 1 take
@@Doge_Actual it's becoming a reality. There's a video of her in studio on spiritbox's channel with her doing a snippet of hysteria's breakdown!
@@triggerwarning8407 I think that's just them recording the song for the first time.
there's something about their choice in chord progressions that just feeds my soul. then you add their DEVASTATING breakdowns. a true piece of art, all three songs
Literally!! They’ve got such a uniquely satisfying sound to them
yeah it's pretty traumatizing in the way
The fact that this sound is more reminiscent of their Singles Collection and self titled EP projects is so awesome. In terms of the feeling their sound provides. Haunting but with a beautiful expression that drives it. Along with the lyrics. Haven't felt this way about an end to a song since Mara Effect Part 3, The Beauty of Suffering, Electric Cross and Trust Fall.
@Marco Yeah but I think other than melodic progression this really screams EB. Would've needed much more bending and "harsh" prog shredding to be like their earlier stuff. Just my thoughts, I'm still a noob in this area.
And doing it in Drop Richter Scale 9.0
BRO WHAT?!?? THAT ENDING IS INSANE
Softest track with the most destroyer breakdown. Definitely my favorite of the 3. Goddamn how I love both Courtney and Mike.
The growl at the breakdown is one of the most satisfying harsh vocals ever. Such an underrated song and band
Completely obsessed with this song. Blasting this in the car when the breakdown hits is dangerous tho lol
I got my first car right after discovering Spiritbox, and goddamn the breakdowns of this song and Halcyon sound fucking stellar in the car
Would love to be in that car 🤤
THIS IS THE ONE! CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR THAT BREAKDOWN LIVE AHHHH!
When I’m sad, I just remember spiritbox exists then I’m blessed to be breathing the same air.
Same men!! This band is the best thing that is happening in the metal scene
Blessed Be, one might say
@@joonermichael I see, what you did there!😂
I farted
@@joonermichael I was about to make the same joke
My favorite thing with this track is the clever teaser at 1:46. It's a small taste of the breakdown tension builder but throws you back into the chorus. The next time we hear that same sound we get destroyed. Very nicely done Mike.
thats exactly what kept me interested in the song on my first listen, not fully understanding it yet but thinking "okay feels like something's about to get kinda wacky," then back to normal, then BOOM
Noticed that first time i listened too. Gives me chills
what a musical genius
im so glad i wasn't the only one who noticed that. i've always thought that was such a genius addition to the song
it's also really well tied into the visualizer, the drippy stuff finally touches the bottom with the breakdown, and guess what it's doing at 1:46? touching the logo for the first time! I'll have to check how sew me up does it too, cause it'll be interesting.
A BROKEN VIOLENT ENDDDDDD
I'm having a pretty bad week but Spiritbox cures it all.
Me too, going through a breakup and this was a GREAT surprise!
@@jamesblizzunt5753 saaame
All the best to you guys🖤
That ending almost had me bust the stone cold stunner on my mother in-law
OH HELL YEAH
WHAT!
🍻
bro lmao
Bwahahaha, I got my healthy chortle for the day, thanks to you
I love the emotion this one brings soooo much. I swear if Courtney does a live one take version of this I'm gonna cry 100 times watching it.
ohh man... I can't stop listening to Eternal Blue and you are already giving me more to enjoy?? this is getting out of hand... ... love it
Same feeling here! especially with that first track rotoscope, god that is insanely delicious!!
i literally have a playlist with all spiritbox song on random/repeat 24/7. can’t get enough
@@yapgabeyap same😊
This is the band of the 2020s. They own this decade. Period.
Meh..... Jinjer owns that spot.
@@ElGuapoDeSantoPoco jinjers overrated tbh
@@LoganKegley OK, how many times did you see both bands live?
@@ElGuapoDeSantoPoco Jinjer isn't nearly as good at overall songwriting and hooks. Still good tho.
Both bands are awesome and that’s why they are in my number one spot!
Courtney : “people might hate our new music”
People reacting to new spiritbox:😍🤤😍🤤
i'm happy to see this path they're taking. It's refreshing. It's like when you hear bands say they're "going for a more mature sound" but actually pull it off this time
The lack of screams is welcomed if the guitars and analogs still go brrrr to keep the sound thicc 🥴
Happy there are still enough people who like this development. They are obviously having a ton of fun exploring new directions, so more power to them. But I was definitely lost on the journey. These 3 new songs offer me exactly nothing to like. Not complaining, this is what happens with bands as adventorous as Spiritbox. And always possible I will like their next release a lot again. But for now I'm out.
It’s interesting to see them go down a more rock route but I ain’t gonna act like I didn’t see this coming
@@dglesterhardunkichud8345 I have to admit I'm here mostly cause of Mike, that man just makes some thick ass guitar lines, they're just so charismatic even when there's not many riffs. Anyway the breakdown in this one is fucking mental, I don't know they thought we would hate it lol.
Wait what? What is this? I thought Spiritbox was only releasing one song today. Is this an EP? WTF 🥳
Surprise!
LETS GET WRECKED!
My exact thoughts as I saw this hahaha
Dude no wayyyyyy
I'm happy, but still confused lol
You know a band loves their fans when they release an album and then not long after, release 3 new songs together as if it's nothing
I think they’d been sitting on that album for a while, so while they’re proud of it, this shows they were ready to move forward.
This is exactly what keeps me coming back for more.
Caught my twin daughters jamming this song yesterday! They make me proud 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼💁🏼♀️🖤
Blessed Be with your twin natal lightworker duo! Namasté
Blessed be is also a song of Courtney
When that bass came in at 2:27 i got so damn excited. Sick ending. Banger track.
I know! I lost a toe from doing a double stomp like a wound up 7 year old!
That last minute or so of the song was probably one of the heaviest things I've heard this year.
Check out Lorna then
@@mike0near That band is cringe city. Heavy for the sake of heavy.
Lorna....lol.
@@geraltoftexas7631 isn't that the entire point of deathcore? Lmao
@@geraltoftexas7631 yeah because it's not like will is one of the best live deathcore vocalists of all time...
I'm in love with this band. Everything from Courtney's dreamy & portal-to-hell opening vocals, to Mike's beautiful emotional riffages, the bassist is doing God's work, & the drummer fits in perfectly. What you get is the best band in the world!!!!
That last scream when she says "Shadows" is so damn nasty one of the best screams I have heard in a while!
Probably the best chorus courtney has ever done.
This gave me a Hurt You vibe. That is, until the breakdown HITS. Holy CRAP O_O
Love it so much :D
I'm not the only one tho thought this!! And this song is effin gorgeous in some kinda ugly and bizarre sort of way. I LOVE IT
Absolutely how Zev never overplays the drums. Perfect compliment to the vocals, guitar and bass. Takes a lot of self restraint. What a banger.
Yeah his style reminds me of Morgan rose of sevendust but with double pedal ability.
@@Eyeyamgod I thought Morgan could double??
Doubling down at 3:05 is an inspired move
I've never heard of this band and this is the first time I have heard them and wow, that was fucking awesome.
Same! 😮😊
It's cool to pick up on the nuances. The background leads, the visualizer, lyrics & the real spirit box static at the end... It's the musical storytelling that I really like about Spiritbox and this is now one of my favorite songs just like The Beauty of Suffering, The Mara Effect trilogy, Electric Cross and Trust Fall.
I got those vibes
Yep I felt those Mara effect vibes on this song. Mixed in with their holy Roller heaviness.
DAMN, this song deserve a video, brutal
After countless playthroughs I can confidently say this is by far the best of the 3
I went to their concert with Mastodon and Ghost and did not know their existence. The whole place was in shock for Spiritbox (me included), and we all gave them a standing ovation. In the end, I wanted to buy their merch and not the others.
Check out their music its awesome🤩 💙, im obsesed with this band since 2020
My first listen that beatdown outro caught me off guard and destroyed me. After dozens of listens I can't express how perfectly they layered and structured the entire song to build to the outro. Very few bands have that instinctual feel to build up to a payoff using a blend of different influences to get there. Just an absolute masterclass.
Reading this gave me goose bumps and I've not even heard it yet! Mara pt3 is all about the end too 🤌
Violent end indeed
This breakdown is going to wreck people live. Absolute face-melter! Damn Spiritbox is always so on point.
Everyone's talking about how incredible the breakdown is, and I agree, it's absolutely brutal, I can FEEL the rage in her voice. But that first prechorus, that just does something to me, its captivating and beautiful. Easily my favorite not only of the three but of 2022 thus far.
I totally agree! Though I like the second prechorus even more, it's just this special kind of music magic where everything clicks, as if it was always meant to be like this. And her voice is just so soothing:)
Out of these 3 Rotoscope songs, this is the best one
I believe this is about keeping the connection to ones true self while being swept up in the hysteria of fame & all of it's complexities. Spiritbox has seen much success thus far, so inspiration would assuredly have stemmed from this.
Current favorite band. Courtney has a beautiful and badass voice, depending on what she needs to convey. I love it.
I can’t even put into words how amazing this song’s breakdown is. It blew my mind the first time I heard it and every time since.
The ending is fantastic, don't get me wrong - but I just love the start of the song, her ethereal lyrics and when the bass kicks in and it gets going just melts me. Probably my favorite song since it's inception.
How the hell do they keep getting better!?!?! I can't get this out of my head 😱
This song is honestly my favorite song of 2022 so far... not just because of the breakdown, that was a nice bonus but the atmosphere and vibe of this song is just unmatched for me.
I’m not even exaggerating when I say this might be the best breakdown I’ve ever heard
i love this band so much its insane
How can u not like Spiritbox? Simply amazing
2:47 best breakdown i heard in very long this band is the most underrated band on earth dang
courtney is easily in my top ten of vocalists of all time
I love this new EP, already! Rotoscope is a great track, even if on the more experimental side, but it is supplemented with Hysteria and Sew Me Up, which are absolute BANGERS. I love them all! lol
Yeah, sew that Mew up, Ash!
Still prefer Rotoscope here. It has that prog-ish weirdness sauce into it.
@@blackcitadel37 overall rotoscope is a more fun song. But the breakdown in this song is just fucking killer
@@blackcitadel37 honestly, I feel like ppl who like prog I think will like this EP. Rotoscope+ Sew Me Up gives me Crush by Periphery Vibes and how they changed it up last album. Can't wait for the new Periphery LP this year and TesseracT
Getting some Zombie/NIN/Tones vibes from it, myself, and I'm here for it.
Caught my daughter singing along to this yesterday in her room. Made me super proud 🤣😁
That break down gave me chills🥶
Her voice makes me melt
if i dont hear this live during the uk tour, i will cry. and cry. and cry.
This band remains my top favorite band. I can’t get enough!
I am 37, I grew up listening to everything from Aerosmith to Tool. The past 15 to 20 years I've kind of been lost as far as music. I'd like songs here and there but nothing really wowed me. When I stumbled across this band they blew me away. There is not one song of theirs that I do not like. It is so rare to find that these days for someone like me. So I want to say thank you to Spiritbox. Your music has literally changed my life.
I was just thinking this. There haven’t been many bands that blew me away on first listen.
Saw them live - so damn impressive.
I dedicate this song to what my heart has been through this year. Every word was felt and experienced. Every word was inflicted onto me onto others.
The chorus in this song is so addicting!!!
Addictive*
But I agree otherwise
I wish this was the lead single. Whole EP is fire but this is something else. Holyyyy
Hearing this live was amazing! The breakdown was BRUTAL! Definitely a band worth watching live!
This is my favorite of the 3. The screams at the end… phenomenal
I think what was left of my soul just left my body during that breakdown.
That ending hit me like a truck, holy shit.
I love this change in their style, it makes me so happy. It preserves that Spiritbox trademark sound with some 90's alt rock influence. Let's not forget, songs from Eternal Blue were written 3 years ago and things change. Love this new era
I actually really love how their sound almost constantly evolves. That was a big complaint I had with a lot of metal, each band seems to stick in the same vein, generally speaking.
Spiritbox broke and continues to break that mold and as someone who not only loves but NEEDS deep lyrical content to attach to music, this band has redefined the genre.
Easily my favorite, and I thought it would be tough to shake Jinjer from the top. Love Tati, but Spiritbox is just unparalleled.
@@kleinemaus6094 totally❤ they seem to write the music they want and feel, not complying to what others think or want. I also love the fact that they manage to wake emotions in me, that's what music is all about
This is the best one out of the new 3, hands down imo
1. hysteria
2. rotoscope
3. sew me up
I agree. And even then sew me up is still killer
That’s absolutely how i would have ranked those songs!
Crazy because regardless, they're all still great songs. This shit gives me Sun Killer vibes, one of my faves.
I completely agree w your lineup.
AGREED.
Damn this song has been stuck in my head ever since it released a few days ago. Love it
I've been listening to spiritbox since way before eternal blue and im so proud of courtney and mike ;-;
same here! I'm so happy they got the recognition they deserve 😌🤘
Yes! The first song I heard by them was The Mara Effect part 1, in 2019 and I was addicted straight from there on, and have thought every other song I amazing as well. That one will always be my favorite though.
This band can never disappoint. They have such a sound that is unlike anyone else. Their own signature, if you will. And I can never seem to shake the feeling to absolutely headbang and rock out to it. So wondrous! Thank you guys!
Cant wait for more singles these 3 songs keep the depression away
I know i can wait for new music from Spiritbox this year ❤️🔥, i saw in their instagram stories that they were recording 🎙🎧
the breakdown is devastatingly heavy 🤘🏾 damn 😮💨🖤
Another great tune. This band is growing fast. Can't wait to see what becomes of them. I've been hooked since I stumbled upon belcarra a few years ago that song is amazing.
fuckin deeeeeeeeeecent
I know everyone's saying holy fuck that breakdown but holy fuck that breakdown! Banger after banger. What an unbelievable band. This is so good. What a cool little ep. The theme through each song, the imagery I get from the lyrics, the atmosphere, the progression of each song. Just incredible art.
When Courtney hits you, she HITS you. That breakdown killed me twice.
Perfect description of my 16 years of depression. Thanks to Spiritbox for helping me this year to get through the most shitty times of my life after my mother passed away...
it's really a beautiful song, beautiful instrument, I listen to it every day, it's my first time seeing a band like this
including the summit song, halcyon, and others..thanks guys, you guys are real artists
you should check out the band "ERRA". they're quite a bit heavier than spiritbox but they make the most transcendental music i've ever heard. if you like this, check out "skyline" and "nigh to silence"
I love this sooooo dang much, for both the clean vocals, but especially the beast within Courtney that she unleashes toward the end. Absolutely perfect!!!! I love her screams!!!
Listening to all new three songs in order is giving me goosebumps that all my hair already dropped on the floor. Mindblowing releases. As always 🤯
Bro definitely Hysteria is my favorite of the three but loving the other two as well
Breakdown is something mind-blowingly brutal.
Just can't beat Mikes guitar tone along with Courtneys vox. Their a great group that's got things down tight.
The algorithm has done a good job this time for me. I had not heard of these guys before today. I like it.
Hysteria and sew me up OMG 🔥🔥🔥
That breakdown gave me goosebumps. Well done, as usual
Literally can’t get enough
The way it ends right after her beautiful yet brutal breakdown is brilliant.
the best of this ep, that ending is so powerful
The Groove oh my god 😍 Everything is perfect!
😮 2:48 😮
Sirius radio made me find them...didnt even know the lead singer was a female. I'm so freakin stoked! She's badass 😊🙌🏾🤟🏾
Goosebumps and tears every time that breakdown hits. What a masterpiece
The ending guitar and vocals are INSANE this is pure bliss - not a band out there will come close to this sound! Totally need more vocals singled out too that's brutal! 👌👌👌👌😱
Like with Bad Omens, this song has crack in that chorus, Courtney outdid herself with the melodies 🤩 can't help but sing along
By far, my favorite of Rotoscope, and easily, one of the best songs of Spiritbox career, Superb!
We need a Volumes and Spiritbox split eventually.
Both bands just keep getting better at their craft.
Get Sleep Token on their too
2:40 song smashes into a brick wall in nothing but the most righteous fashion. So good.
this is by far their best song. blows me away with every listen
This is the first song I’ve heard from this band. I am not disappointed.
These 3 songs are great. We are spoiled this month and next month. IPrevail, Spiritbox and BMTH release new songs!
Don't forget Sleeping with sirens, alpha wolf, and Lorna Shore 🤘
