Agree with what you say. I have Leukemia and speed through everything in a morning, and often crash in the afternoon. My bones hurt everyday, but crafting makes me forget it.
Sharon, I had no idea. I have to tell you how much your sunny “good morning everyone” brightens the start of my day. Please take care of you and know me and this community is routing for you to be well soon. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤️❤️❤️
I find it fascinating that so many of us in the crafty community have chronic illnesses! The biggest game changer for me personally was figuring out a system to store and organize unfinished projects. Feeling like I had to finish everything so I could clear it off my work station caused me to push myself way too far physically, but also mentally (more times than I'd like to admit). Finding and tweaking a system to put projects on pause has been so helpful in listening to my body. Thank you for sharing your tips and your experience. I appreciate your vulnerability and letting us know we're not alone! 💕
Jess thank you so much for commenting. I understand the predicament of wanting to clear your desk. Would you mind sharing your tips with me. I’m planning on doing an organization video soon and I’m sure others can benefit from them. Of course I will credit you. ❤️❤️❤️
@mycraftyadventures Absolutely! I have settled on putting all my bits and bobs in 8 1/2 X 11" storage pouches with a velcro closure. I saw them on JessCrafts' channel when she uses them for her paper-busting templates! I store those in an old wire file organizer on my desk, then just flick through and pick one when I don't want to start anything new or if I feel like working on a particular project again! I'll come back and comment with some links so you can get a visual of what I mean 😊
Appreciate your transparency ❤ I need to remind myself of your helpful tips as I try to declutter and organize my craft supplies. It’s super overwhelming and frustrating because of my limitations due to autoimmune arthritis. It’s decided to attack my dominate hand so I’m forced to do only a little at a time.
Thank you Caroline for sharing it means Alot! I really loved this video it gave me a new outlook, your tips I will definitely try. I love your attitude & spirit! Thank you again ❤
Such great tips for everyone but especially for those dealing with a chronic illness. I've had Hashimoto's Disease for since 2008 and more recently, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor last April. Doing what we can at the moment is key. Crafting does provide a happy place where I can escape the everyday routine, thoughts and worries. Sending my best to all those who are dealing with health issues.
I am so sorry for what you are going through. I can’t imagine. Please know you are always welcome in this community and we are here to support you. XOXO Caroline ❤️
Hugs, Caroline! I adore you for sharing your vulnerability and courage to still try to get through it. Crafting has been my therapy too since I lost my first born (35 weeks then she lost her heartbeat). I couldn’t imagine not being able to craft. But because of my second baby which I am nursing now, I have to take it slow with crafting. I wish you good health and happiness, Caroline. Thank you for the tips you shared. ❤
Oh Whims. I have no words. I’m so sorry. Thank you so much for sharing your truth. Lots of love to you and your family. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have been disabled all my lifeand in constant pain, but then 2019 diagnosed with aggressive breast & lymph node cancer I couldn't craft for 18 months, now I suffer with limited use of my arm & fingers ( damage from chemo & lymphoedema) but the fatigue is really debilitating sadly new years eve I have been told I have rheumatoid arthritis which has been a huge blow on op of everything else.I am very lucky to have an amazing caring husband but.my life is sat/ sleep on sofa, hospital appointments so my happy place is crafting !! Xx
Oh Kelly. Thank you so much for sharing. I can’t begin to imagine the stress and frustration of dealing with so much. I hope that you are able to find moments when you can get lost in your crafting and just enjoy. I hope some of my tips can help you as well. This community is here for you. ❤️❤️❤️
First, thank you so much for your transparency & vulnerability ❤ Your tips were very much appreciated to do everyday just to get out of bed & going to work. Finding time & energy to craft & be creative is so often challenging dispite it being something I genuinely want to do. Again, thanks for sharing & all you do!! ❤🤗💐
