  • Take a tour of the city of Kobe through Nagasawa's beautiful collection of fountain pen inks: Kobe Ink Story! We are so happy to be offering Nagasawa's full series of 82 inks now at Yoseka. This collection began in 2007 when Naoyuki Takeuchi from Nagasawa was inspired to write a letter in the colors of Kobe and at the time, there weren't a lot of Japanese companies making colorful fountain pen inks in colors other than Black, Blue Black and Blue. Nagasawa continues to add to their collection of inks and I can't wait to see what other colors will join this collection in the coming years. Thanks for watching!

    Very thoughtfu of Nagasawal to produce inks that ensure fountain pen writers will possess a bit of Kobe when they write, ensuring the city is never forgotten.

    Love this as I've long wondered about the Kobe inks. I have a few and love them. My favorite is #37, labeled "Harbor Island Blue." Thank you. Wonderful to know all 82 are now available here.

    Kobe No. 44. I'm in love!

    This was fascinating! I knew the inks were inspired by the city but I didn't know the history behind, how they came to be, or any other detail. Seeing how some of these colours are so close to the source (like the iron-filled water and the pier blue)... gives them another dimension. I haven't got a chance to try them myself but now I want to see and know more about these inks!

    I just got gifted a bottle of number 25 tarumi apricot. I normally hate orange ANYTHING, but I love this ink.

    Thank you for this great video, I love learning about the story behind the brand and behind each colour!
    I am trying to find a replacement for the regretted Pilot Iroshizuku Ina-ho ink that is alas discontinued.
    Could you recommend an ink that would be close in color and in properties, either in this Kobe collection or in another brand?
    Thank you very much!

      I'm on the last leg of an Ina-ho bottle, looking for replacement too. So far, the closest colours I found were Robert Oster's Chartreuse and Muddy Bucket, Inkebara's Earth, and Private Reserve's Sepia (though this one is noticeably darker). _Maybe_ Iroshizuku's Hotaru-bi though I feel is a bit more greenish. I'll be happy to try other options 🙂

      @ thank you! I like Colorverse Gluon for the colour, but I cannot seem to find a shimmer -free version (although I believe it used to exist ?) and I am not crazy about shimmer inks.
      There are also Platinum Sepia Black and Citrus Black, both close but not dupes, and they are iron gall inks so the properties are different and they feel dryer.
      I suspect that Birmingham has some interesting similar colours, but alas they don't ship internationally any longer (if someone is in the US, they could look into it).
      So I am still looking (I too have only about 15ml of Ina-ho left...)
      I'll look into your suggestions, thank you very much Silvia!

    Does it have a high lightfast?
    Does it fade overtime?

    Sooo interesting! I’m also curious to know how the performance is-is it easier to handle, overall, than Sailor I. S.? I love Ink Studio-it is like dreams of color without limits-but it can be dry, or smelly, or etc. they are not *bad*, but they are not “Daily Drivers” in the same way that Iroshizukus are, for example. How is the handling in pens, overall? Do they have more manageability or “you can comfortably write a lot!”-focus than the Ink Studio? Or is this also a line using a more “color-first” focus?

    • @Yoseka
      @Yoseka  Рік тому +2

      I think all Sailor inks are similar and they definitely all do have that smell that Iroshizukus do not but I don't consider the Kobe Inks dry inks.

    I really wish the bottles said the number or ink name on the label. I didn't want to keep the boxes so I had to use masking tape to label them all myself which was kind of annoying.
    Also #26 and #57 are some of the best imo

    • @LittleKikuyu
      @LittleKikuyu 11 днів тому

      Well, they have the name on the label, just in Japanese 😂 which is understandable, because they are not made for export specifically. But yeah, I understand 😅
