***** Not trying to be a dick but where have u seen that? You might find a base model for 7k but u rarely see a zr-1 for less than 14 or 15k and that's w/ 100k+ miles, only reason I got mine for 8k is because it needed work..
Don't forget the 5k km, 24hr, 5k mile, and 4 other FIA world land speed endurance records this car set. Not beaten for 11 years, and never since by another production car. And yet Supras are selling for 70k because they made a corny movie where they painted it silly colors...
Supra is an overrated japanese shitbox and it’s a boat comparing to cars from it’s class. It’s only perk is the engine which is fucking heavy so it’s easy to say supras aren’t made for cornering
@@beast11135 Actually the number of street-racer wannabes that have ruined thousands of these cars both through goofball modifications and wrapping them around the nearest stationary object have contributed to the car's skyrocketing market values, especially since very few Mark IV Supras were left unmolested. Also there is a renewed interest in the Mark IV's after most Supra enthusiasts were disappointed with the new car that came out last year.
I've sat and driven most and driven in all gens of Corvette and I've personally owned a C5 for about 5 years and have owned a few C4's both pre 1990 and 1990+ and I still think the 94-96 Corvette interior especially with the sport seats is the SECOND best Corvette interior next to the 2014+
DININJA RONIN this Corvette was ahead of his time with the traction control and all that stuff and not to be this is the early 90s so try should control was not on a lot of cars
Saw one of these in a parking lot a few years back. Every other car in the lot looked huge compared to it, even the compacts. It looked like a damn miata. Really put in to perspective how much larger cars are nowadays.
I'm replying a decade late but I saw a C4 on the road last week and it looked tiny. Not just tiny compared to the SUVs and lifted trucks, but even compared to compact sedans. The C4 looks huge in showroom pictures, but they're small IRL (which is honestly better).
After re-watching this, I see that this car was pretty bloody advanced for it's time, I mean traction control? CD player? Over-400 hp? Injector deactivation? Rack and pinion steering? If I had the money in 1994, I would have bought it too without asking questions, it was a much more advanced car than even many exotics during that time imo.
ive watched you since day 1 essentially. i agree with westernprelude. i hold everyone elses reviews to your standard. youve evolved somewhat but have kept your style since day 1. much appreciated. and will be a lifetime subscriber. id buy a car from you based upon your reviews w/o a drive. ( and rarely would ever consider NOT driving a potential car
Psh has nothing on my 1998 Honda Accord... All joking aside this is my favorite generation of the corvette. My dad had a red 92 grand sport that I loved. Sold it right when I got my license hah smart man I suppose
remember seeing these new at a dealer a few blocks from my house. rode my bike over there looking at cars a lot. think I was telling dad the specs..... he had a fast tbucket, fast boat at the time and didn't care about vettes lol. anyway. I'm at least half old now and may buy one of these if the price was right one day. cool car.
These cars were remarkable in their time and still beautiful today. I shopped around for a slightly used C4, not a ZR1, but working in the cotton mill didn't afford me one. This example is a beautiful car.
Damn that car is clean, and I assume those Goodyears are original to the car… The C4 was such a crisp design. The price of the ZR1 was mind-blowing in '94, over $110k today adjusted for inflation. But then the value of the US dollar totally blows today.
This car is soooooooo cool... ahhhh... if only 12 year old me had given it a chance on Gran Truism 2... "375hp... WEAK..." oh... how very little did I know! As far as I'm concerned this is the only vintage C4 worth owning!
Jacob S. Preciado I was speaking to the listed power on Gran Truism 2. If I recall they had it listed at 375 hp... of course GM uprated the output in '94. Some people are able to tune these engines, after a series of upgrades, and get them to put out over 500 hp.
Great review. This is such a beautiful car. They made a total of 56 Admiral Blue ZR-1's over the 6 year ZR-1 production period from 1990-1995. They only made 448 ZR-1's in 1994 and 44 were Admiral Blue. Of the 44 Admiral Blue ZR-1's made in 1994, 21 had the light gray interior. So this car is fairly rare. It is amazing how well the 4 design has held up, it still looks great today.
I remember when you did the 1990 ZR1 it was over 2 years ago you have advanced your filming style and it is quite polished and very informative to watch :)
Another stellar review by yours truly!!! This is indeed a special treat, I dont believe it's possible to find one of these Corvettes! Thank you Mr. Kyle!
From Wiki: "Lotus designed a new engine to fit in place of the L98 V8 that was in the standard C4. The result was the LT5, an aluminum-block V8 with with four overhead camshafts 32 valves. Lotus also designed an air management system for the engine to provide a wider power band by shutting half the intake runners and injectors when the engine was at part-throttle. Lotus also helped GM design the ZR-1's upgraded braking and steering systems and settings for the adjustable active ride control.
Thanks for posting such a great review of the best and the fastest production sports car of its era. The tilt front end and the rest of the car reflects engineering excellence. In my opinion it is the best Corvette ever made.
Tyler Wallace, because if you're in your teens, or 20's right now, you can't possibly understand the feeling of excitement, & thrill of being a teenage car guy, or a Gearhead in his 20's in the late 80's were damn near every American performance car was hitting 16-17sec 1/4 miles @85mph, then around 1989 you started hearing the buzz of the new 1990 Vette (KEEP IN MIND THERE WAS NO UA-cam, NO GOOGLE, FACEBOOK, Etc..), then mid 1990 seeing the ZR1 on the street it was something you don't forget. The vette of the 80's was a 220-240hp sports car, then in 90-94 the ZR1 pushed the game to a whole other level..for the most part if you're a young car guy these days, you're spoiled with 4cyl, & V6's making well over 300hp, & the V8's making well over 400hp. That shit was a pipe dream for American performance cars from 1975 to around 1989. There were a couple of exceptions like the 87 GNX, & 89 T/A GTA
Saabkyle04 is the biggest and mainly the most comprehensive guide for pretty much the majority of cars that you can buy in North America, the only thing that would need is an European segment where he could target easily the European audience which is exposed to another car market, where many of the North American cars are expensive and taxed ridiculously, mainly due to their engine sizes.
Yes you heard correctly they are very nice engines and if u were to try to buy the engine it would be around 7,500 dollars or if its been redone it would be around 15,000 dollars
Fine, you win. I have to agree that both cars are very impressive, both C4 and C6 versions. I apologize for saying you were wrong, you weren't, I just have a soft spot for a 2001 Z06 is all.
I love your content man, you're awesome. Just because there aren't really any descent reviews of this car, I, as well as many others, would love a review of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT Hatchback. It's probably dumb to request something, but It's worth a shot. Thanks for being awesome!
Make sure you have your local Chevy dealership on speed-dial so you can take it in to have the widow motors replaced, and the digital speedo replaced as well. Yes. And the new interior should be much better than the cheap plastic-like one in the previous Corvette. I definitely don't think the guys at Motor Trend and Car&Driver will be disappointed with the new car's performance.
Wow, my dream car!!! That car is the cleanest C4 ZR1 I've ever seen! It's like I'm homies with Doc. Brown, and I borrowed the DeLorean for a day to go back to 1994 and check out this amazing ride. Or is it going in to the future since it was 1985. Damn, I'm confused. Eh, does not matter. I'd go either way to take that specific ride for a ride :-)
which is proven to be slower around most tracks. They slide out of corners, whereas rear-wheel-drive cars can push though them and usually put the power down more effectively
nice review- the 94-95 vette got the passenger airbag, so they compensated for the lack of the glove box with smuggling compartments in the door panel armrests. they hinge up- you never know what you'll find in a 94-96 c4 armrest compartment.
This thing is GORGEOUS! And in MINT condition.
Rare...I mean RARE!
I never was a fan of this generation of corvettes, but I'm starting to love them now!

***** oh,ok my bad then
***** ya that's pretty much it, the engine is seriously a nice engine though especially for early 1990s
***** There is one down here in Dallas, Tx 77,000 miles going for $8,400 not a ZR-1 tho..
2019 Corvette FTW
What a badass car, then and now...

Lol butthurt boomer, this car is amazing but the supra is famous for much more than that
Supra is an overrated japanese shitbox and it’s a boat comparing to cars from it’s class. It’s only perk is the engine which is fucking heavy so it’s easy to say supras aren’t made for cornering
Isnt that better for you? You could buy one of these for cheaper. The Supra has become an iconic car in the car world.
@@beast11135 Actually the number of street-racer wannabes that have ruined thousands of these cars both through goofball modifications and wrapping them around the nearest stationary object have contributed to the car's skyrocketing market values, especially since very few Mark IV Supras were left unmolested. Admiral Blue Metallic looks beautiful with this bodystyle but the interior is a stark reminder of how far the Vette has come
I have a 92 this same color . Base model though but still a beautiful color
So beautiful. The design is so simple and timeless. By comparison, I think recent Vettes are tacky with all their various scoops and vents.
The profile looks like a Ferrari Daytona, especially the convertibles. Check it out.!!!!!
Thank you I also think the old wedge is an awesome 👌 designed corvette
So true!!!! I hate the weird inbred herbie look of the c5. I’m about to start faulting a c4 and partially for that reason over the other generations

the most beautiful corvette of all times...and super advanced and ahead of its time!!!!
DININJA RONIN Calm down
DININJA RONIN well said brother
etom2511 because you said so?
Digital speedometer that C5 and C6 do not have
DININJA RONIN this Corvette was ahead of his time with the traction control and all that stuff and not to be this is the early 90s so try should control was not on a lot of cars
Perfect song for this car when you turned on the radio. Love it.
I was thinkin the same thing lol!
*_Probably the best looking retro Corvette. I love the side profile._*
What an amazing car! It's not every day you get to see a 94 Corvette ZR1 with a LT5 Lotus V8. Truly beautiful!
The pops and and crackles from the exhaust sounds amazing

Wow. Can't believe this was posted six years ago! Still, a great help in determining whether to buy a '91.
My dad has a 1995 ZR1. Fully built by Doug Rippie Motorsports. Absolutely love that car! Remember it ever since I wasn't even as tall as the car lol

Awesome job.. What a beautiful example of a mid 90's beast...

the viper was the first domestic car to get to 400 hp in 1992 since the smog control era...so technically you are right saying 1st car above 400 hp
It used a v10. Chevy did it with a V8
In 1992 (released as a 1993 model) the zr1 had 405hp
What a beautiful piece of history! And the funny thing it's all original and the engine is brand new!
The new C7s are very impressive though! I cant wait for the higher performance models to come out ;D
Lotus designed that motor? Was I hearing correctly?
Yes you heard correctly they are very nice engines and if u were to try to buy the engine it would be around 7,500 dollars or if its been redone it would be around 15,000 dollars
Yup
Yes. It was designed in conjunction with Lotus and built by Mercury Marine's MerCruiser division in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Brick12343 i heard they used lotus heads on a chevy small block.
GM owned lotus when this car was in production
The only part that was interchangeable with this newly designed motor from other 8cyl was the rear main seal!
This is the best corvette ever made! I can't believe how modern was it!!
Agree, that boat even had the ZR1 taillights across the back of it. It was a true work of art from that era.
looks so much cooler than any modern car
I love seeing cars as old as I am, this Corvette is a case in point. Also, those rear tires..
MY 2 FAVORITE THINGS IN THE WORLD
1: CORVETTES
2: VAN HALEN
!!!
and ladies who like guys in Corvettes..
Well of course
You are cool!!!
Jon Jonson got alot in my 02 Firehawk, had to sell it though. But happy to say im in a 94 Z28 now atleast lol! Poor mans Vette!
Metallica and Corvettes are my favorite things to ever exist.
Beautiful machine. Still "King of the Hill" 👍👍🏁
Good luck man! I love these videos. Although I'm not a big cars' fan, your videos are very entertaining and interesting. Thank you!
I respect your opinion, we all have different tastes and my soft spot is the '94 ZR1!
WOW!!!!! That is one freaking clean Vett!!!
That Corvette is so awesome !
Long Live The King!! Best Corvette ever!! LT-5 is Legendary!!
Beautiful C4 Corvette. Just bought a new C7 Corvette Grand Sport with its Manual Transmission, and it’s an amazing car. Buy a Corvette, life is short.
I always loved the way the C4's headlights flipped.
this car is awesome its flawless!
That rock song that came on the radio @ 11:40 fit the video just perfect... Have you ever considered doing test drive videos? Keep up the great work
That car is in outstanding shape.
I like how u give a little history about the car kyle
How appropiate, turns the radio on full volume and Bon Jovi is rockin'!!!
WOW! This has to be one of the cleanest examples of the 94 on the road today. That thing is MINT.
I LOVE the Vette! This C4 is one of my personal FAVs!
Fell in love with this car...

Thanks for being awesome!
Looks in Really Really good shape for 94 Vette
Damn, badass Vette, and 'Livin' On A Prayer'....talk about an '80's flashback!
Make sure you have your local Chevy dealership on speed-dial so you can take it in to have the widow motors replaced, and the digital speedo replaced as well. The C4 didn't have a rear mounted transaxle. That didn't come along until the C5.
wrong it came out in 1990 when the C4 got updated to 350 horsepower.
I have a 90, trust me none of the C4's had a trans axle. base model for 90 had 245hp L98.
Is that true for the ZR-1?
RayJ-HT yes same for the ZR 1
C4 Corvette does NOT have a transaxle. Rear mounted transaxle was introduced with C5 Corvette, not the C4.
Sweet! I was born in 1994, it's destined to be mine!
94... the year i was born. just badass
That is one clean Vette! Very sharp.
That car is just a piece of art, and they're not too expensive on eBay
nicely done! you are well versed in your car history! thanks for the vid.
The Corvette didn't get a rear-mounted transaxle until the C5 debuted in 1997. C4s have a Dana 44 rear differential.
the second most beautiful corvette in my opinion, next to the C5-R SSV
I drove one of these. a 1991 model. These cars are fun.
1994 Chevrolet Corvette C4 ZR1 Start Up

This car looks fucking brand new omg.
Yes. And the new interior should be much better than the cheap plastic-like one in the previous Corvette. I definitely don't think the guys at Motor Trend and Car&Driver will be disappointed with the new car's performance.
That is my dream car right there...
Wow, my dream car!!! That car is the cleanest C4 ZR1 I've ever seen! It's like I'm homies with Doc. Brown, and I borrowed the DeLorean for a day to go back to 1994 and check out this amazing ride. Must be fun to drive. Good choice for review Kyle, thanks for the video.
which is proven to be slower around most tracks. They slide out of corners, whereas rear-wheel-drive cars can push though them and usually put the power down more effectively
So true, and back then the corvette was at the forefront of tech
I still remember the car magazines pissing their pants when the King was revealed.
