Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! UA-cam's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at the all new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

As an European, pretty fucking epic, I want to drive one to Germany and push the ponies out of it on the Autobahn. However, call me a bit spoiled, but I'm waiting for the C7 Z06, which I'm terribly looking forward to, as well as buying myself time to come up with the money for one, if I'm lucky buy it cash-down.

From the few hours I spent with it, I would say yes. It feels better, rides better, is more comfortable, etc. Overall a top notch job over the C6.
That's a bold statement to make since you're not sitting in it lol. I can say honestly that it's a 180 degree difference than the C6, for the better. That being said, you really need to experience and sit in it in person to appreciate it. It's down right luxurious.

It took probably a couple hours, it's trying to put everything together in a linear order that's the fun part! I go to dealerships to source my cars being I don't have access to manufacturer demos at the moment (need to work on that lol), I was lucky enough to meet this gentleman through a mutual contact. It just so happened to work out at the right time :)

My dad just bought the 2014 Z51 Corvette Stingray today fully loaded! Same color exterior with red interior and black rims. So cool!

There is hardly a difference in the 3 modes (interior) (slight when outside) really disappointing my buddy's GT350 sounds way better and with a huge difference in exhaust note change!
This car is badass...and I am not really a corvette guy...I wish they kept the 427 in the Z06...I thought the C6 Z06 the best corvette ever...I still can't believe that got that engine in there and kept the weight to 3150 pounds...Good job America...

Fantastic review! Thanks for standing next to the car for some perspective. Great photography. Nice , long shots that linger over the car and interior and give me a sense of what it is like to be inside. This is a welcome alternative from so many reviews that rely on jump cuts and snarky, uninformative dialogue.

This is an amazing looking sports car. I was so surprised when I saw the price! Its not the most affordable thing in the world but I thought this would price around 100-150 thousand! This is my new dream car.
I've never been a huge chev guy and lean more to dodge but after seeing the new corvette I was stunned, especially with the price. I would totally buy one over a challenger, mustang (even a viper). For a Z51 LT1 with the tintcoat red colour I like it was only $68,000.00 + tax. Thats insane for everything you get! And almost 30mpg on the hwy.... crazy. Huge improvement over previous C6/5. I'm a convert

He does a good job. Most of his overviews are unbiased, and professional. I am not looking for a guy to tell me what he doesn't like about the car. We watch these so we can decide for our selves. I know I've watched a few of them when I was in the market for a car a few months back. Certainly ease the pain in the decision making process.

Thank you for your in-depth review of the 2014 Stingray...I would have liked to see the vehicle with the lift-out portion of the roof removed. But other than that small detail the review was out standing as usual. I really want a 2014 Corvette even more now...!

As a Corvette owner, I am trying to appreciate the new model as with all new generations as they are introduced; they have to grow on me somewhat before I fully embrace them. This one will take a little longer; love some attributes; others are hard to embrace; nicest of all generations however. I will be more interested in other upgraded models to come; i.e. ZR1/Z06/etc...
Just say it..you HATE those camaro-like tail lights..like the rest of us do..lol.

There's not a sports car nowadays that doesn't look or have something reminiscent of another sports/supercar. People need to understand there's only certain directions you could go. A lot of people look at it from a fan pov. What about the business point. Fine the past gen Vettes looked great but they didn't bring new customers. This new design is meant to do that bring in new customers by the ton and it's working. Stop comparing and saying this car took from that car because it's useless. Watch another car come out and people will be like "Well it looks like a C7 or a Ferrari." Ferrari's also look like other cars. Stop acting like Ferrari doesn't use other designs or parts. At the end of the day they're cars. If you're a true car guy and not a fanboy you'll find a reason to like or be intetested in just about any sports/supercar. Stop making opinions on things you don't know. Unless you've owned a Ferrari and Corvette you can't compare reliability and such. Just let things be. Take them for what they are. America's Sports Car. Ferrari speaks for itself

I've had mine since February but starting to drive it more regularly the past month.. I've had a '69,79,'90,and an 01...Best one yet by far. Most closely resembles '69 from behind the wheel looking out the windshield with the high fenders. They've outdone themselves with performance and instrumentation.

I agree, too many extreme changes....I like the front of the previous cars better and the tires were a little larger...Do not like the openings on the hood...Love the interior though...Two-tone on the door is different...A lot to get used to....
I do not think that they should have a two-tone door...do not like the tan on it...would prefer all one color...should not have eliminated the all wrap-around rear window...four exhausts do not look good...100 lbs lighter...no....like the silver step with the CORVETTE name on it...that is a great improvement....They have spoiled the car....

im a huge fan of the new corvettes. in fact, its probably my most reasonable dream car. (yeah i have a lot of them) but my only question is, how does the charger srt8 put out slightly more horespower than this?? All im looking for is a technical answer, not a war, i love both cars. Someone help?
the SRT8 is a boat anchor in comparison so this will have no problem shooting off into another time zone before the srt8 got off the line, but doesnt mean hemi motors are bad, look at how high they can get N/A

Dunno, I'll let you know when I am rich! You definitely need to outsmart someone or a company with a great idea, I guess.
It doesn't take much. The most I've seen one go for around here is $71,000. The base model, which is just as awesome for less cost, is avg. $58,000 in MD. That's a few years of saving extra cash, and buying in full, or putting a solid down payment and $300-$600/month from then on out. :P
Trust me...I've been looking into getting one. I'm a Webmaster for a startup here in maryland, and it pays well enough that I may spoil me and my lady. :P
There is a reason why you see a majority of Corvette owners with grey hair. It takes a lot of years of hard work to afford one!

This car splits opinion. I personally would choose other sports performance cars before this. But seeing how vicious the Corvette fanbase seems to be when it isn't other people's best car ever, I'm not saying much. Corvettes are OK.

It has the aerodynamics of a Lamborghini, but the engine has less power than a Challenger. Has the look of an insanely fast supercar, has the brakes smaller than a Z/28's. Don't judge how fast a car is by the way it looks. Like the GT500, looks like a simple muscle car, yet it can go 202 mph and has more horsepower than a Lamborghini Murcielago. On this car they should've gave it more power to match the look. Anyone who disagrees, just reply your opinion, I don't want to start an argument.
lol, the problem with mustangs is theres 10 billion of them and they all look the same. Ford cheaped out and went as far as to produce a 4 cylinder ....basically , your car sucks
Don't need a whole lot of horsepower or breaks when the car only weights around 3300 - 3400lbs. What's a Challenger weigh? 3800-3900lbs?

The GT500 is 3800 lbs and the new Hellcat is 4400. But weight doesn't matter to me.

Anyways, weight should be important to you. It's, essentially, half the formula for building a performance orientated car, effecting virtually all aspects of the car, everything from breaks and suspension, choices in power train, to even what materials are chosen to build the frame. Which, btw, explains why the Challenger has bigger breaks then a Corvette, yet still can't stop as fast.
The other half of the formula, of course, being power.

Well the 2013-14 GT500 can go 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, I think that's pretty impressive. I don't know what it is on the Hellcat.

My most hated "supercar" brand is Porsche. They all look the same. Corvette's are nice, all tho few years ago when I saw how bad the Z1 was (plastic trunk), I wasn't that interested in these cars anymore. Anyways I always been a Ferrari fan (since I was 8, so that is 24 years now), and always will be. Sure this car looks like but it is total crap vs Ferrari's quality. Italian cars = best way to go for Supercars (but u need lots of money). The Audi R8 is also a nice car btw.
Crap? Haha okay. Have fun paying around 6x more for a Ferrari that can compete with this car.

I cannot afford this car or a Ferrari. At least Ferrari never had models created with plastic, or after an intense 2 laps on a track that the seatbelt holder breaks off. Sure the Corvette looks nice, but it cannot compete with any Italian supercar quality wise.

If I would had the money to obtain a super car I will not choose the z51 but a Ferrari. Also I will wait until this car will be reviewed by non Americans. I love Ferrari, but this is by far the better deal. If someone wants to waste 300+ thousand dollars on a car that performs similarly, that's fine. I'll save a shit-ton of money, grab a z51, upgrade it and buy a Maserati GT for LESS than the Ferrari F12.

The Corvette and Mustang have both changed alot over most of the their entire production run, clear back into the 50's-60's, often times it's alot more than just tail lights too! Look up a old 60's Corvette or Mustang specs if you don't believe me. Alot more has changed then stayed the same.

C.4 - C.6 'Vettes look very very similar
But even from '63 they've kept a lot of their original features, that's how cars work
You keep features like 4 round tail-lights and whatever else as signature elements of the car
The Caprice never really did get rid of it's idea of 6 tail-lights until '95, and it started in '66
Cars most often keep some of their original features to show that they are that car
just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't good, you narrow-minded schmuck.
