I remember the first ZR1 I ever saw up close. It was in Anchorage AK at Alaska Sales and Service. It was Steel Blue as I recall and was a 92 model if memory serves. I was blown away. They have come so far. As an owner of a 2003 Z06 These cars have always been special. Great review as always.
I have an 02 Z. Have you kept up with the vette market? It's outrageous to this day. Love the C6 ZR1 but prices are through the roof. I'll hang on to my C5.
I have a 2002 corvette with all the bells and whistles in torch red with torch red leather interior. I love the body of the C5. This car gets a man thinking!!
BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE Corvettes! The ONLY issue you could have with them is the interior isnt quite on par for a 100K+ car. But I am SURE that the new Stingray will have an upscale interior. GM has made some amazing vehicles lately.
that is a good walk through i think with this i can buy one now. i was looking all over youtube and could not find a clear walk through. thanks mam that was a good idea. keep on with it.
I work at a chevy dealership and have gas'd up a few of these before and although it's alot of fun to drive and sounds wonderful,it's not for the rookie driver. It takes skill to drive this w/o trac on.
Actually the speed limiter depends on what tires the computer thinks is fitted. It's a safety feature. H rated tires are rated for up to 110 mph. V rated tires are rated up to 149 mph. Z rated tires are rated at higher than 150.
kyle i must give you compliments on your camera work. and hte camera itself. it transmits the audio as perfectly as possible. that or my subwoofer is sensitive lol
Excellent video as usual, Kyle! This is such an incredible car. I love when the exhaust valves open up..if I am able to post my video response, it is a full walkaround and start / revs I did of a ZR1 where the exhaust valve opening is so distinct (there are great echoes as well as it was filmed in a hangar). Great job as usual!
when will you people realise that the LS smallblock is superior in every way in the v8 world? I too refused to believe this for 10 years out of jealousy (was K20a vtec lover), but now I am an LS fanboy.
the LS9 smallblock is the most powerful production LS smallblock ever made. The only one with a forged aluminum piston in the LS family. Out of all the big three v8, the LS smallblock have to be the very best of all. fastest car in the world got an ls7 smallblock ;)
@zxdr2 There are lots of liability issues in driving them. He explained that a while ago. Kind of a bummer but still very nice to see the in depth review.
One thing I would just update, and only update, is the interior. Make it more modern or nicer, whatever floats most people's boats. Just some friendly advice for GM.
Luxury cars do not have carbon ceramic disc brakes, exposed supercharger, huge gaping vents in the front and sides, bucket seats, splitters, rear defusers, 200+mph top speed and a HUGE, loud, supercharged V8 engine. You don't know the meaning of luxury, this car isn't luxury, it just has luxuries.
only because if you buy the top of the line ZO6, you are paying about $80,000 instead of $120,000. and if its the supercharger that sets you off, you can put your own supercharger in it, and get all of the supercharger options and things you need to properly install it, for around $25,000. so your saving around $10,000-$15,000. and depending on what kind of supercharger you get, you could also be producing more horsepower than the ZR1..
I always think it is funny when people say things like the Ferrari has a better interior or the back of a Ferrari isn't plastic or any number of diff things. A Ferrari is more artistic, I will give it that no doubt but look at the overall package. The Vette will hang with anything performance wise, is practical to drive every day, requires far less maintenance, will still be going strong at 100,000 + miles, can be serviced virtually anywhere & costs half as much. Overall, you can't beat a Vette
Absolutely true, the steering wheel is somehow forgotten by designers and does not fit into the design of the interior. Far nicer to look and drive would be a more aggressive steering wheel and professional for this model of Corvette.
no matter if you're a chevy, ford or dodge fan. The Viper and the Corvette are Americas finest.
I want this corvette soo baadd !! Amazing piece of engineering art !
Yea o

Man I love that almost any car that I look up a review on, you have it done already. Keep it up man =)
the mighty! even after having been around since 2009 the ZR1 still is KING ! since its inception it has humiliated super sports cars left and right.
You really do hear that amazing sound when the valves open
Anthony Draper cutouts are stock?

I'm a Singaporean. If I were to reside in America, this is the car I'm gonna buy! Loved Corvettes since the C5! omggggggg
I have a 2002 corvette with all the bells and whistles in torch red with torch red leather interior. I love the body of the C5. This car gets a man thinking!!
The Zr1 Is my favorite american car,and this collor is AMAZING!!!!
ZR1, Dodge Viper, and Ford GT. The 3 American Supercars.
yea but there are over 13 American supercars that do over 200 mph
Please don't tell me you haven't at least heard of the Hennessey Venom GT, it's the fastest car in the world
Allen Jackson not the fastest the koeinegsegg agera r is with the top speed of 273 mph
Brian Colwell never tested. That's theoretical. Hennessey tested it and was still accelerating at 271 when they ran out of runway
All i got to say is hennessey venom F1. And yeah there are a ton of US super cars that i don't feel like naming...
Man ! That front view with revs in the intro was AWESOME
I haven't watched the rest of the video yet but I pressed like way before
My dream car !
my dream car

Coolest and the best corvette out there
best looking vette ever❗
The 2016 Z06 beats it. And the 56. The Original stingrays were hot too.
defiantly it is the best !!!! looking ever
I’ll second that, no other vette comes close. At least in my opinion.
This is my all time dream car. I can not wait to get my hands on the Centennial edition ZR1

I love cars, American muscle, badass, simple as that.
i love the corvette zr1 is my favorite car😍😍😍😍
It's limited to 205- I think if you take off the limiter, you can go 215, hence why the speedo on these go to 220.
+Carlos Aponte It is not limited at all .205 is what it does .
+camirocz no its limited jay leno even said its limited .

Great views and detail..thumbs up "Vette Pro Bro" 😎

Only American Super car I like.

kyle i must give you compliments on your camera work. and hte camera itself. it transmits the audio as perfectly as possible. that or my subwoofer is sensitive lol
The ULTIMATE Corvette!
There's a Chevy dealership near where I live and it has one of these and right beside it is an old 60's Stingray. It's incredibly badass.
I dont just want this car, I NEED it!!!
WOW what a genius observation! It all makes sense now
I'll always be a sucker for the ZR1 & the '96 Grand Sport.
Thank you Kyle! What an epic Corvette
Congratulations on #1,250!
Great stuff as always
I love clear glass part which can see the exact engine!!
Mad BEAST!
I liked the intro, you should do that more often
Van Halen and a Corvette. Excellent mix.
very beautiful car!
Small correction. The rear WHEELS on the ZR1 are 12 inches wide, the rear tires are actually 335 millimeters wide, or 13.2 inches.
Kyle! please do more of your cool fancy intros! They're awesome!
just saw one of these yesterday in a parking lot, soooo sick
when will you people realise that the LS smallblock is superior in every way in the v8 world? I too refused to believe this for 10 years out of jealousy (was K20a vtec lover), but now I am an LS fanboy.
That's a 50+ year old engine that's able to keep up with modern engines, what's not to love about it?
Ali Haidar LS is all new architecture compared to the gen 1 SBC...
psychoclownboy my 64 impala SS sedan with the original 327 turbo fire V8 and the two speed powerglide automatic has done over a million miles
Hey- that's what I have!
I bet a Tesla can smoke your car and it doesn’t even have an engine 😬
One word: GODLY

the gauge sweep upon starting the engine is scary, but I love it. :D
Jeremy Clarkson says its plastic but on a road trip to america he loved it so much he almost bought one back in england.

I like Corvettes, and this one is great.

archechme it's a pretty small engine
Yes Kyle, we shall check out the exterior
Just read the article about you in 'Car and Driver' Kyle, congratulations!
Here's hoping the C7 Stingray will fix that issue. I look forward to Kyle taking us through it. :)

@19thebigone95 He showed and explained in the video that there is a backup lever on the floor next to the seat.
Best music for this car!
many thanks for this! :)
This Is The Only Car From GM I Would Buy, It Looks Fast And Mean

that supercharger can be heard a mile away!!! beast!
Absolutely true, the steering wheel is somehow forgotten by designers and does not fit into the design of the interior. Far nicer to look and drive would be a more aggressive steering wheel and professional for this model of Corvette.
Kyle, the wheels are actually made out of polished aluminum, because real chrome adds a lot of weight.
I love and I want this car
Can you take this for a test drive?. I like to see how the S/C whine stacks up to my LSS
I subscribe to your channel i love it , thnx bro and nice video
I love the Corvette emblem.
Front fenders are carbon fiber also, just like the hood.
i love the ZR1 =)
