    Jason, I want to say thank you for posting this video. Unfortunately, I'm not able to do this myself I don't have the ability or garage to do it. But to get the idea because my AC just went the compressor went. So mechanics going to have to do it for me lol. 🙂 But it gives me an idea what's entailed.

    Hey Jason,
    I have the same car. Manual transmision. We change the whole system. The compressor is new and it starts, gets cold for 20 mins and stop working. We thought it was the ECU, I buy a new one, but it doesnt work either. I dont know what to do. We change everything. The compressor doesnt stays on. Any sugestions?

      Do you know your pressures? Are you fans working?

      Yes. They also changed the refrigerant pressure switch...the compressor, the cond, the ECU, etc..My fans are working. The compresor turns on, but its stop cooling because it stops. .@@jasonjefecito1416

      @litzzy2011 do you know your actual pressures?i would check the pressures when it shuts off. Also sometimes the relay for the ac compressor goes bad. I would swap relays with a different system like the horn or something to eliminate that.

      @litzzy2011 try to swap out the relay for the ac compressor. I would be curious to see what your pressures are when it fails.

      Do you have pressure gauges? You can buy a cheap set at harbor freight or possibly rent a tool at O’Reilly auto parts. When it fails check the pressures and tell me what they are. 👍

    Hey Jason, had a question for you how much oil and Freon does that compressor take my car is a 2017 Hyundai Accent

      Adding oil is a tricky thing. You don’t want to add too much because you can damage the compressor and depending on what you did like just the compressor or flushing out the cores would dictate how much oil you put in. Also if you extracted it with a machine you would put the amount of oil you take out because it keeps it in a bottle. I personally put in 1 ounce of oil and 1 pound of Freon in this car. But I didn’t flush it. There is oil in the entire system. The capacity for the system is around 4 ounces of oil and it takes 1 pound or 16 ounces of Freon. Hope this helps. 👍

    Do u have to put the filter and expansion block

    • @jasonjefecito1416
      @jasonjefecito1416  5 місяців тому +1

      Not really. I just did it because it’s cheap and easy to get to. If it involved a ton of work. I would have risked it. I would at least do the filter because it traps moisture in your system which is bad. The bad part is that they won’t warranty a new compressor if you don’t buy the filter and expansion block. It ultimately depends on how the compressor failed. Did it send metal down the line or just got weak?

      @@jasonjefecito1416 my clutch would not turn off even when I disconnected it so I just bought a new one. I have not installed it yet.

      @joerincon7901 yeah I noticed that about the compressors on that particular vehicle. i’m not sure if something else happens inside that compressor that makes the Freon flow. When I replace that compressor, I did it because of the readings I was getting on my AC gauges. One of my latest shorts has the readings that I was getting on that compressor. It’s weird when I turned off the AC it still looked like the clutch was engaged, but I had no pressures at all. It’s definitely misleading.
