Felt Forum was a great venue! Plush seating, small theater (relatively speaking, especially as it was part of the Madison Square Garden complex). And WNEW was pretty much the go-to station in the area for 'album-centric rock' and often simulcast the Dead and others. What a grate time to own a reel-to-reel tape machine. Anywho, looking forward to this, someday I may find where those tapes got off to. :\
O my Jerry!? @Lisa RCT !>Please go look > It would be worth the trouble now while the online transfer community is so strong. I am not that person but; Google ~> up-load live music; "Lossless" (Legs)?
so true was lucky to see my 2nd dead show there the end of 71' when Buddy first took over for Jerry 12-5-71 sunday night also huge WNEW broadcast,,, another show we saw there back then was Van Morrison with the Persuasions opening
Thanks a lot for this fantastic post!I heard it in my garden in the south of France ! A big sunshine ,near the swimming pool with a stick of good grass ! A way of Life!!!!
Felt Forum was a great venue and had some memorable shows. NRPS also one of the greats. I got to see them what I call recently, with a meet and greet in NW corner of Ct. and Dave Nelson was like hanging out with a pal. Met Buddy too about a year before he passed. Through out the years Marmaduke came around to smaller clubs and hung out too. We all Loved these once we rocked with them.
love the nrps, saw them downtown one night bout a mile from the ff at the lone star, a club so small and narrow that every time marmaduke turned i had to duck under his guitar neck, good times oh my
Keith was unreal for a spell. Although many of my favorite JGB shows are from the 4 piece I love him with JGB. He & Donna were a good fit. He's a big part of what makes 72-74 Dead so special.
Hey Gnu I was at the next night Nassau Rambling Jack and NRPS opened for Jerry and the boys plus Donna I did not know this show existed thank you! And I loved NRPS ever since!
my biggest regret back in the day was missing this one gotta be their all time best show sold out too fast saw the Deads thursday and monday nights Nassau Coliseum run before and after this
WOW GNU! Been looking for a soundboard copy of this show since the 70's! I think it's their best show EVER! U made my holiday SO beautiful! Thanxx brutha! ❄️🌍❄️🌟🥀💕
Great show! 50 years FM stereo broadcast fidelity sounds better than anything on FM today. Oh hell who am I kidding, I think my Marantz stereo is 50 years old. lol I'm loving Buddy Cage's dry pedal steel panned to one side. My friend is learning steel, so he'll love it. Props to the good engineering, then and now. Thanks for the show gnu!
spring break from college upstate .. somehow my girlfriend scored a ticket from her friends so it was my 'job' to listen in and tape on the good old reel to reel ... a special night with the dead 'sittin in' and those old timey tunes ... comin forth to carry us home ...
Dancing with a reckless abandon NRPS and David Nelson Band. The latter was a stellar show at the Barrelhouse I two stepped with a like spirit for an entire set country swing dancing with a few close moments. End of the set my persperayion had soaked through her blouse in two most obvious spots the size of two softballs. Much to her husbands chagrin they left, she with a big smile, he with a frown, never to be seen again. Guess she didnt have an extra blouse...
sweet memories of those wonderful NRPS shows, sunshiney days, country hippie music, a million smiles... hats off to nognu....

The New Riders are really good. I've often wondered if a great pedal steel guitarist had joined them how they'd sound.
Very funny

Ya, I wonder... LOVE Buddy Cage
Thank you NoGnu! Such a quality show and sound. Well done. After hearing a mediocre at best DeadCo final weekend in SF, I needed this
