Short, direct and to the point. No fluffy story about your childhood. Thank you so much. As a diabetic, steel cut oats have been recommended to me and I had no idea how to prep them. Your recipe is great!
Absolutely love steel cut oats. My favorite oats by FAR
Thank you for making this, it’s helped me so much with my meal preps in the morning and I have never cooked steel cut oats before so nice to know it’s so easy!!!

Not 100% true..the kitchen items are provided with 'affiliate links' in the description (the youtuber earns commissions here). Nothing is free on youtube videos 😂
I have tried this recipe and love the unique way you cooked it! The demonstration of making stovetop steel cut oatmeal was really helpful, especially for meal prepping and feeding the whole family.
On a personal note, I made this recipe using True Elements Steel-Cut Oats, and it turned out amazing! The oatmeal was creamy, flavorful, and so satisfying. Thank you for sharing this nutritious and easy breakfast option!
Thanks for the video of making steel cut oats I use rolled oats from true elements while making the same.
Thank you for this. I have flawless steel cut oats now thanks to you.
You're so welcome! I love that!
idk its so relaxing watching people cook oatmeal 😄 i love oatmeals
Haha, I could see that being the case. It's so good!
Is the proportion 1 cup of oats to 3 cups liquid? it seems that every clip I watch fails to specify the exact amount of oats vs the amount of liquid to use.
Sweet thanks!
You're welcome!!
I start diet today. So happy see vedio
Oh that's perfect! You should make a big batch of this and eat it every weekday morning.
Thanks 👍😀
Thanks for the video. Can you use steel oats for overnight oats?

Oatmeal is very authentic
Bahaha!
I have never tried steel cut oats only old fashioned because I was afraid I wouldn't like the texture but I think I'm going to try it
Definitely worth giving a try! Let me know what you think!!
🤣@Videoman,but hey giving the oats a 👍is approval enough to make this here! 😋
Thx, my steal cut oats didn’t have any instructions on how to do them just how much was for each serving
What if you replace the water with milk, or almond 'milk'?
Have you ever used granulated monk fruit as a sweetener?
Thanks
One step that I found to be extremely helpful is soaking the oats overnight…..this prevents them from being underdone. I use a third big a cup of oats to two and a half cups of water.
Is that why my oats was hard ?
Definitely….I noticed a big difference. I’ve reduced to 1/4 cup of oats and 2 cups water. After soaking overnight, bring oats to a boil and then reduce to medium low heat. It takes about 15-20 minutes to cook. I leave it a bit liquidy. Turns out every time. Before I cook it I add diced apple and cinnamon, with a bit of honey. Delicious….I have it every morning. Cook with lid off.
Keep going 🇦🇪🇦🇪
Thank you!
you are welcome 💖
I am having a persistent dry cough. Bananas irritate my throat. Is there any way to cook the steel cut oats?
i love steel cut oats.. but it takes time to cook.
It does, but I think it's worth it! I also have an Overnight Steel Cut Oats recipe you can prep beforehand, so it doesn't take much time in the mornings to prepare: feelgoodfoodie.net/recipe/overnight-steel-cut-oats/
Soak them overnight it speeds up the cooking process
for lunch how to prepare oats with curd plz share the recipie
How would the texture of steel cut oats be if I baked it? And is there any recipe of baked steel cut oats?
It will just be like an oatmeal bar! You can try my Baked Steel Cut Oatmeal recipe: feelgoodfoodie.net/recipe/baked-steel-cut-banana-oatmeal/
Is it okay to eat this at night??? And can I make a big batch of this and just store it at reft? Because it’s quite time consuming to make one everyday hehe
Yes, you can eat this at night. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container, and it will last about 5 days in the fridge.
It's even better to eat it at night since oatmeal contains melatonin which helps you wind down and fall asleep easier.
Mam, I hope u are good, I have one doubt.... Should we soak steel cut oats or we can directly wash and cook
No need to soak the oats in this recipe!
to three cups of water you add some oats? Is it like regular oats 2 parts water to 1 part oats?
No it should be three parts water to one part oats
Is it necessary to use salt in the first step ? Please reply
No, it's not necessary. But a little salt does wonders for plain oats and brings out their natural nutty flavors. Without it, it can be quite bland.
I'm a beginner. How should I check to know whether its cooked or not?? & Ready to eat? Pls help..
My suggested cooking time is 15 minutes which comes out perfectly. It will be done when all the liquid has been absorbed. You can try it and adjust - for example, you can add an extra 5-10 minutes with a little extra water or milk, as needed, to get even more tender oatmeal.
@@Feelgoodfoodie Thank you so much for replying 🤗
I cooked mines for 30 min and the oats are slightly hard and crunchy. Is it possible to make it soft?
Is it over or under cooked? If it's under cooked, you can add more liquid and cook it for longer to soften it up.
You need to add some nuts or seeds on top for protein. 🥜
What about vanilla, cinnamon and brown sugar 😊
What temp are you cooking this on?
At first I boil over high heat. Then I reduce the heat to a low simmer.
Never said how much oatmeal to add.
1 cup steel cut oats - the full recipe for this can be found on my website!
@@Feelgoodfoodie Big Fail!
"1 cup" what size is the cup 🤦
@@aaasss-lv6nlit tells you on the damn package 🤣
Eyeball it.
I put milk and brown sugar and bananas in my oatmeal as well as honey
That sounds delicious!
Shouldn't we rinse oats in water before making the recipe?
I could never understand how people eat oatmeal lile this. I like mine smooth and runny like a drink lol. I use a hand blender and blend my steel cut oats smooth after its cooked lol
How about using microwave?
yup! 1/3 cup of oats with 2/3 cup water for five minutes
Anyone knows what steel cut oats are called in urdu ?
Nice video, but I was just wondering why 3 cups of water? For example some people use a 2:1 ratio when cooking rice, i.e,1 cup of rice per 2 cups of water. I've used 1:1 ratio and the 2:1 ratio for making rice and didn't notice much of a difference. I know obviously your making oatmeal and not rice, but what happens if you use equal parts one cup of oats to one cup of water?
Thank you! I used 3 cups of water because that's how much water was needed to get the consistency I was going for. You could probably also try a 2:1 ratio of water to steel cut oats, but it takes longer to cook steel cut oats (compared to rolled oats), so it might not be cooked all the way through.
Does it help for weight gain?
Garbage in, garbage out!
Please help me! My Quaker steel cut pkg says 25 - 30 minutes, but my biggest problem is CLEAN-UP! I can never get my pot clean! Anyone have this problem? (I do not use Teflon)
You want to stir occasionally and scrape the bottom of the pan, so nothing sticks and you get a creamy texture!
Not sure if you've tried this, but as soon as you've transferred your oatmeal into a eating bowl, soak your pot in boiling water and put a little washing up liquid in it too. Once you've finished eating, anything that was stuck should come right off. Works for me every time.
She doesn't say how much steel cut oats she added to the three cups of water!
Yes, she didn’t say how much to add to the water. Onto try the next recipe from somebody else.
Did I miss the amount of oats? 3 cups of water and???
You missed nothing, the poster did.
How much oats for 3 cups of water you didn’t mention the measurements
1 cup steel cut oats and 3 cups water!
Is it gluten free?
Bahaha!
How to prevent the oats from sticking to the saucepan
You want to stir occasionally and scrape the bottom of the pan so nothing sticks and you get a creamy texture.
Tip: Use distilled water
How much oats?..
I'm struggling now making steel cuts oats
Did this video help you?
@@Feelgoodfoodie 😋 yes
Thanks for the content, I am trying to eat better
*i advise no salt and the almond milk be unsweetened.* I've recently taken to steel cut, i understand is the best oat type.
Do what works for you! 😋
@@Feelgoodfoodie makes it healthier.
Stir constantly for 15 minutes? Hey, I've got a life...I just stir occasionally.
Never mentioned how hot should we put it 😢
Are you Arabian plz answer
Yes, I'm Lebanese!
First view😉
Thank you so much!!!
Why can’t anyone say how much steel cut oats they use? All I see is 2 1/2 cups of milk or water, and then add in the oats. Doesn’t tell me much.
I used 1 cup steel cut oats. You can find the full recipe in the video description and on my website 😊 feelgoodfoodie.net/recipe/steel-cut-oatmeal/
Damn so cook them for 15 minutes!?
Hes huge!
My oats didn't come out like that 😭😭😭
Was it more thick or more watery?
Video was too short
awww lol
That's not milk. That's nut juice.
Lol 😂
15 -20 min to cooking this oat meal, is waste of gas...
Stir constantly for 15 minutes. pffft!
Steel cut is gross and hard . I know it’s better then rolled but goddamn it’s cardboard .
