Man, it gets on my nerves the way people disrespect him and his status as one of the all time greats.. he did so much amazing work in his creative prime with so many awesome bands, I just don't get it but whatever, he's one of the absolute giants of the rock era.
"Do you wanna see me crawl across the floor to you ? Do you wanna hear me beg you to take me back? Lord, I would gladly do it,because I don't want to fade away"...if you can't feel or understand the soul and the feeling behind those lyrics, I cannot possibly explain them to you..
I wish Eric will perform in Philippines before he fade away.Filipinos love to hear this songs in early 70s and this wonderful rendition bring back Clapton popular in our country
Powerful song, my brother in law played guitar. He died in the 70’s from leukemia at a very young age, he use to play and sing this song😭. He was really good. Everytime I hear it, I think of him.
It was early 1972. I was in a noisey bistro on Virginia Beach having a lonely meal. I was 21, and had a girlfriend with whom I knew it would never work out. This song came on. I remember the words and Carl Radies gentle descending bass countermelody. It was a sweet sad moment. Fortunately, I went on with life.
It's wonderful when you can share songs like this with your children and they in turn share them with their friends... Because in reality where are they going to hear them...
I simply love the unplugged version of this song. Live at Budokan. Rocks. You can tell the Heart felt sorrow of Eric. .in his endeavors with Patty. Very cool tune. I find myself listening to this song sometimes at the end of my work day as a long haul truck driver. Slurpping on a couple beers. Cheers Eric and all whom follow rock and roll. Pete
A wonderful song & video!! So darn good!!! NO wonder he is in the Rock & Roll of Fame so many times... This is great!!!!!!!!! Love it.. Eric still has it!!!
Me too. I have had tickets 2 times different dates and couldn't go either time. I don't miss any concerts so it was odd that it happened 2 times with Eric.
