I love in greenwood lake and I just want to say the biggest thank you to every single person who put any time or effort into battling this fire ... Best wishes and good health to all ❤
Flights like this helped save out home out here 2 years ago -- Thanks to them we got to return home after 2 weeks evacuation but 28 homes below us were not so lucky. The ground fires spread in winds super fast and we saw it jump more than 2 miles when the wind carried hot embers to ignite dead grass ahead of the main fire. All around us it was like burning pine needles falling through the smoke. This is no joke when it is close to your home.
Can't imagine what it was like. So glad you and your family and home made it through that horrific ordeal without serious harm or damage. Praying with you and everyone else for this current tragedy to end soon. 😢💔😞
Thanks to our troops who are risking their lives to help…but, those little BH buckets seem as effective as pouring a glass of water on those massive fires. They need to call in the C-130’s with the red fire retardant. Maybe they don’t exist in the eastern US. This draught is unprecedented.
The Bambi buckets they are using are 660 gallons, so a fair amount. They were actually used on this fire to wet ahead of the burn on the slope where the ground units couldn't reach to protect the houses, although they can also drop directly on the fires. Those two particular 60's were from Army Aviation Support Facility #1, NYARNG, out of Long Island.
And now we have a man in the White House, who believes the global warming is a hoax or he just wants to make sure to continue to line the pocket of oil and gas industry

Blackhawks doing a tremendous job.
Thank you! Shared this with the 60 crews shown in the video. They are true professionals, and I am proud of them.
Of course, ANOTHER fire 🔥
At lake front properties
Kudos to those helicopter pilots.
Isn't there a firefighting boat that can pump water from the lake and direct a jet of water at that treeline above the shoreline?
DEW🔥.
Chinooks will be there tomorrow
What’s a chinhook?????
😢
