So, this is a good option, if available to the clients, this way you can make the necessary arrangements for return or exchange of the bag . What service do you use for shipping from the UK?
Don't support them I keep saying they suck, support would be me preaching the gospel about them🤣 I jst happen to like their designs of bags and the colour/leather variety whilst their stuff actually at least holds value if I decide I'm bored of it

If you love vintage - get the Hermes Vespa - they are actually in my opinion SO much more elegant and nicer than the Evelyn !!! I just purchased another one but in the box leather and Toile and it is simply stunning !

That’s not ok. I had a very similar issue purchasing golden goose sneakers in Italy and going back home with them (and having an issue after a couple of months). Golden goose sent a dhl carrier to pick up the faulty shoes from Israel, shipped them to Italy and then offering a full refund and when I asked they shipped me a new pair covering all shipment and taxes ..
Now this is what you would expect for customer service^ and even more so when it's a luxury brand since the price point is suppose to mean all the bells n whistles 🤣

Na they are just dicks it's normal lol since purchase wasn't even made by me lol. That's why I share these stories because I'd like ppl to know luxury isn't rainbows n candies it's just overpriced bags and better to buy preloved than really from Brands directly anyway imo

And after your saga of a story I don’t know why you still want to represent the brand no matter the craftsmanship. However, no matter how much profit they make, It’s not their problem that you exported the bag so it’s on you to pay for return including the import fee. You took the risk to export. A question I have, Is there a reason you didn’t talk to your local boutique to see if they could help you?
@ I would agree if it was purchased in Australia. There is s reason they don’t let you buy from a UK store and ship to Australia, this type of situation (logistical nightmare and cost) and why a service was used for the purchase.
They (Uk) asked the local boutique to take the bag to return but because of the complexity of the stock being from overseas order they couldn't take it. It was "too hard" for them to bother to care lol. Also if you read another persons story that happen to them with golden goose bought overseas they were happy to do the exchange or refund all paid for fully due to their error with supply. This could of happened to any husband who picked up an online order taking advantage of the cheaper price didn't want to ruin his wife's pretty ribbon tied only to be shocked when the package is opened by said wife lol. It's rare but could have happened in many scenarios . They are rich enough to afford the "hard basket" scenarios to make it right there isn't an excuse
I like your honesty and critique of these companies. Like you, I love these brands but they shouldn’t be exempt from due criticism. Too long they have treated their client base like cattle even though we are their bread and butter.

They are saying they don't want to pay the tax to receive the goods back even if it's marked as a return etc it wouldn't be guaranteed to be exempt. I had to apply for that guaranteed exemption through the government via Aus to UK which would have taken ages to be approved as well. I'm sure they could have easily pulled their strings to have made it exempt since it was their goods but they just couldn't be bothered
Q: Why do we allow a business like Hermes to get away with it? A: Because people want a quota bag and Hermes is the gatekeeper. Luxury brands of today dominate their customers not the other way round. They don't care if you like them as they don't require mass approval. They only need to sell to their admirers who are will to dance to their tune. Treating customer poorly is actually beneficial and aids to reinforce the power imbalance between the parties. Research (which they pay for) shows that in order to appease the business the customer becomes more submissive and willing to spend more when they are treated unfaviouribly. This also serves to put the customers "back in their place." 💜
Totally unacceptable! Maybe they are acting like that because of the counterfeit market, it can be an explanation. But either way, as a customer, this is not good service. I really don’t see Hermès the same way as I did few years ago, I walked out for a couple of reasons and just buy resell if I want a bag. Now the demand has just gone to their heads and they have inflated egos even though their egos are only warranted by the demand the brand has and nothing more really lol
