Maybe you could extend a medium to light eyeshadow right above your lash line and fade it as you get to the brow bone. I would suggest a soft mauve for you.
Me too. But there's a few great tutorials around UA-cam. Wayne Goss is one that comes to mind, as I've seen him mention for some techniques if it will be more difficult for certain eye types too. Find your style (if you want, I hardly wear any make up myself and yet... Here I am)
I love this! And also thank you for your definition of “dupe”! Sometimes I’m not looking for a cheaper alternative, I’m looking for the same finish/performance/color of a product that I can’t use because of allergies. There are times I would even pay more to be able to find something that matches a product I love but that has ingredients that make my skin angry
Over the moon, ecstatic that you are one of us “brown mascara “ devotee!, Please please please at sometime could you do a segment or even just a short on your favorite brown mascaras? I always feel like I’m on the hunt for a really good one.
I, too, prefer a brown mascara & was so excited when Thrive came out with a brown. I loved the formula for the black because it stayed on, never smeared, & never flaked. With red hair & fair skin, black is a bit much for me. I was disappointed that the brown mascara from Thrive was not as good as the black. It smears & flakes off. So sad. Back to black (because Thrive mascara is still the best.)
Thank you for including cool tones. When I tell you I RAN to buy Cool Bronze, I ran…bought it before you had even moved to the next swatch. As a cool toned human with gray eyes, browns can be tricky- most pull orange or yellow and certainly don’t enhance my eye color. But a cool tone taupe or silvery brown may just be my perfect bedroom eyes brown!
If you don't mind the "loss" of shimmer due to the stick formula, and want a stick eyeshadow for some reason, Victoria Backham EyeWear is available in the new shade Shroom. The website describes it as a "shimmery storm grey", but (on my monitor, at least) it looks exactly like the F&A Cool Bronze. I would describe it as a cool, taupey, mushroom brown that has a hint of rosiness. I'm ordering both 😬because I think it will be my HG bedroom-eyes-brown.
I had a very old Makeup Revolution palette which I depotted a long time ago and I'm holding on to one particular shade like my life depends on it. It's the perfect mauve-rose-taupe brown, essentially a cool brown with a tiny bit of pink metal shimmer and I'm not super cool toned (more on the neutral slightly cooler side) but it really brings out the green in my eyes. Essentially how bronze would look on me if bronze didn't always pull out warm
I wish Kaja would let you build your own bento because I love the brown shade from the chocolate dahlia palette but I want to try that first shade too!
i just saw a comment from someone else saying you can switch out the kaja pans in the stacks just by popping them in/out so you could theoretically make your own that way!
My version of this is plum. I feel the prettiest in anything purple, but plum is my sophisticated but not basic color. I'd love to see the ones you'd consider fit that category.
When you mentioned that you theorize that a person's "bedroom eyes brown" is a brown close to their hair color, it gave me an epiphany for my current obsession with pink eyeshadow. About 5 months ago, I dyed my hair pink, and I've been heavily leaning on shades in my collection that are the pinkish equivalent to a "bedroom eyes brown". Now, the shades that I used to lean on, like the middle shade in the Toasted Caramel Bento trio, create much more contrast than they used to. This explains my sudden need to find a pink equivalent for Oyster Pearl lol
Girl, yes!!! I am finding more and more that the colors of eyeshadow that I love most are the colors that are part of my personal coloring - hair, eyes, lips, skin, etc. I have cool eyes and warm skin, which gets confusing for me but I finally figured out that I can only do cool eyeshadow when it complements my eyes otherwise I appear sick lol
It was Lauren Mae Beauty that originally brought this to my attention or I never would have figured it out on my own. I haven’t tried it yet but I love knowing the option is there since I do mix and match from the stacks I do own. Thanks for posting your comment. I’ve been trying to pay it forward as well when I see the Kaja stacks being discussed because a lot of people still don’t know this is a possibility. I’m curious- which ones have you mixed and matched?
Sadly I don't think they're magnetic, they use a soft dab of glue (that resticks) to secure the pans. I've combined this 'bedroom eyes brown' that Kackie rightly raves about from the Orange Blossom stack, with the two mid and dark brown mattes from the Chocolate Dahlia stack. It means I have the most wearable palette that can go from daytime to dramatic depending on which shade I lean in to more. I love the flexibility and portability of it all, it appeals greatly to my sense of efficiency and my love of neat little miniatures.
@@nhr9602 I don’t have Chocolate Dahlia although I’ve heard good things about it. The ones I’ve bought (I have 4 including Orange Blossom) I’ve either gotten because Sephora was discontinuing them or Kaja had a significant (40%) off sale. If CD does go on sale somewhere, I’ll probably snatch it up because they are such excellent travel and quick look options. Thanks for answering about the pans not being magnetic. Helpful to know.
Idk why I'm just now watching this but "explosive brown" is probably the best makeup shade name I've ever heard. Anything bathroom-y sounding just gets my goat...whatever that even means... 😅 🥝💚🖤
In defense of VB’s caramel: I’m a VERY ashy dark blonde with very dark brown eyes and it’s perfect on me. Warm eyeshadows are best for my eyes but if they go *too* warm it makes my hair look gray. So it’s possible it just has a very limited use case - I can see how it might look dull on people not working with my particular weird combo of undertones haha.
Ugh, us and pur weird undertones! I have the opposite problem. My hair gets warm past the crown of my head but the rest of me is really muted and cool toned. I feel you!

The ones that are a little too green work so well as neutral bedroom eyes brown shades for us who are deeply olive and tan tho. Ive added a few names to my wishlist from this video
It is interesting how I see one color when you first put it on & then I start seeing different colors! For example, the Tilbury color you said had cool undertones looked like a darker brown with a cool shimmer. But, as you swatched more colors, the surrounding browns started looking more orange & the Tilbury almost purple! I had to go back and look at when you first put it on to "re-see" the original brown. 🤯Mind blown. 🙂Thank you for sharing.
The way I held my phone two inches from my face this whole video so I could see the swatches in detail 😂 apparently very little can make me as enraptured as bedroom eyes browns can. Thank you for this!!
Phytosurgence chilled cherry is my perfect color. The cherry tone pulls out the green in my hazel eyes but the shadow itself, on my skin, has a rosey brown tone. I love it so much.
Sorry new to the party and bingeing on stuff... I would LOVE a whole "try and replace this shade" episode. There's a specific shade from the Boudoir Eyes palette called Sugar Walls that is soooo hard to find a replacement shade for this discontinued palette and I'm hitting pan. Trying to ration it out at this point and I'm underwhelmed by Temptalia's suggestions.
kackie, i don't know if there's a normal way to express the fact that i could listen to you talk forever and ever about bedroom eyes brown... but i need to share the fact that i'm so excited to see your videos and i can't believe that they're free and come out like multiple times a week?????
For my olive undertones, it’s the red-based darker browns that do this look best for me. It’s a pretty heavy look on me though so I just pretend I’m one of the women on the Twin Peaks cover of Rolling Stone from the 90s. (I feel like olive undertones aren’t cool but you sort of need to treat them like they’re cool?)
@@TheClairelikescats Something like MAC’s Espresso or Swiss Chocolate. Most of the time I use the dark brown in Kaja’s Chocolate Dahlia trio or Em Cosmetics’ Rodin palette. Basically most palettes that have a dark brown that doesn’t lean cool, I use as a crease shade. Light and medium browns turn orange on me so I use dark ones with a red undertone and wear my MAC lipstick in Taupe, which looks like a dark berry on me.
I'm a light warm olive, Pat McGrath "Lazarus" is my deep bedroom eye shade, Tom Ford "Naked Bronze ' the lighter, desaturated version. My skin pulls reds out of everything, so I always have to go a bit red or I end up with something cool toned.
I do LOVE these videos and appreciate all of the work you put into them. I, of course, would love to see the one eyeshadow we need if we prefer cool toned taupe shades. I know that isn’t your jam (but I really appreciate your including several of them in this video)!!!!

Art Math Kackie at her finest! I have both the Phytosurgence Crystal Constellation and Kaja Orange Blossom trio. A few more I'd throw into the ring for me (My complexion has a cooler undertone): Rituel de Fille's Cultist. The shimmery brownish-mauve color from now-defunct Vapour's Hypnotic quad. The brown one in the 52 Degrees Roen quad. For durability, Crystal Constellation all day. For my EXACT color preference, RdF Cultist. EDIT: Phytosurgence Oxidized Olive looks A LOT like RdF Cultist on my arm, so there's that, too.
Off to purchase the Flavedo & Albedo cool bronze eyeshadow. It is giving me holy grail vibes. My long time love UD YDK was discontinued years ago when UD reformulated their eyeshadows and I have yet to find a replacement that “does it for me”. I love shimmery taupes and bedroom browns. Does anyone remember an old Chanel single eyeshadow called “Vega”, my God I loved that color and Stila “Grace”, the powder, not the liquid. I miss them.
I love a cool toned brown, copper browns just don't look good on me, my favorite brown is antique in the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, always wished they had a single of that color.
Bedroom Eyes Brown is the kind of color that’s always been my go to over the years. I usually end up using a mix of shadows to get the perfect color! The Too Faced Born This Way palette has a good mix of different kinds of brown shimmers and mattes to layer and is one I turn to a lot
This is a video for life! 🥰 Thank you! The Lisa Eldridge Titania I would describe as my perfect bedroom brown, but there are a few shades in the I Need a Nude palette that is also really good. I actually look for those green undertones (Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Khaki is also a really good bedroom brown). I’m always on the chase for the perfect brown though so economically speaking this was a really really bad video for me to watch. 😭
I love hearing you talk color, all the swatches really allow me to pick up on the color nuances particularly saturation, depths and undertones which just aren’t always evident when looking at just a single item Great video ❤❤
Can confirm the Byredo shade is more gold than Oyster Pearl. But for real you need the Dior Beige Mitzah single. It is a powder Oyster Pearl but better. It is EVERYTHING. ❤
Yes!!! I’m already fighting for neutrals for the perfect eyelid colour. MAC painterly vs soft ochre for blanking out the eye. I wish groundwork was a little softer. The two lightest from merit are both warm and cool! Where’s the neutral in between?
I was waiting for zora from LE to make an appearance in this swatch videoo to see where it lies in bedroom eyes spectrum😢 but i love it anywayyyy😂 feeeenk you
I have warm greeny hazel eyes, and those greens on your nose look like perfection for me. Pair it with a deep warm liner and some burgundy or brown mascara and i am ready for date night.
For beauty pie I only see the silver one available on the site. Although they do also have a Smokey rose quad that looks pretty too. They have free shipping on orders this weekend with no minimum. I love so much of my Beauty Pie stuff. Obsessed. I would love to see you review their eyeshadow sticks. I have to shimmery ones and I flipping love them. They don’t budge.
Im only 5 swatches in, but needed to come here and say Phytosurgence Deeply Rooted is like a less metallic version of the CT Pop Shot Eyeshadow color. I have been using it nonstop as my one and done grungy brown after trying a ton of warm browns because I love how they look in the pan, but I have accepted cool browns just look better on me. So wanted to put that out there for those who want that tone in a more everyday wearable long lasting formula. ✌🏻❤️
Thank you! Cool-to-neutral browns are my preference & what I think look best on me, & that specific shade has been haunting me. It was only released for holiday 2022, & limited edition. By the time I saw someone receive & review the formula, that shade was already sold out & never restocked.
@@NatalieValentina6 you are confusing Deeply Rooted for one of the Weathered Woods Collection shade. Deeply Rooted is darker than those shades and part of their original and permanent shades. It is closer to VB Mink in shade with that brown base and blueish shimmer, just different formulation and wear.
Makeup by Mario has restocked the Ethereal Eyes palette for a limited time. I think this may be the last restock. I missed out the first time so I just snagged the palette.
She is getting mad at the camera for not being able to recognize her face, after she has totally obliterated her features with makeup spots. She has literally color blocked her face, like people do to avoid facial recognition technology... WTF... lol
Yes!!! Been waiting for this video! Thank you, Kackie! Although now I’m more obsessed with VB Mink than before 😂 I’m medium, neutral olive & loooove a good oil slick eye!!!
I think I found my perfect bedroom brown. Julep Eyeshadow Stick in Cocoa Shimmer which is on sale on Amazon right now. It’s so beautiful and cool toned yet has a pretty gold metallic shimmer. I can’t wait to wear these several times to see how it looks. I also bought the Copper Shimmer which is beautiful with cocoa. The Evergreen shade is also gorgeous.
MAC discontinued my favourite brown shade - such an unusual shade “PATINA” My son bought for me many years ago - always my go to brown shade. I wish MAC would bring it back!
I love MAC "Woodwinked". I have worn this one shade for years. It is a medium-dark, golden bronze with warm undertones. Maybe give it a try as a replacement for 'Patina'. :)
@@tammy3424 Ah, thank you Tammy, Woodwinked is what I’m actually using now - it’s a very good alternative, you’re right. It has a little more shimmer than Patina, but I’ve gotten used to it and I’m able to mix with tempting, which is another good alternative - if a little darker. Many years ago, i used to use Super Frost bronze - by Maybeline, fabulous shade. Thank again Tammy 👍
Love the video! And I’m 99.9% sure your camera isn’t perceiving your face as an actual human face anymore now that the makeup has removed your facial contours! 😂
I think your swatches acted like camouflage/anti facial recognition to the camera & that's why it wasn't focusing on you 🧐 Excellent video! I used to have a few MAC single shadows, and if I remember correctly, 'woodwinked' (possibly 'all that glitters') could be similar to that byredo/oyster pearl color
I just picked up some violette FR, and I got the cream eye shadow in marron glacé, and it’s a GOOD bedroom brown. It’s warm but not deep, and has the right amount of sparkle.
RdF Exuviae is that girl for me (redhead but skin twin). It’s not always a true one and done, since there’s not too much shimmer to it, but it’s such a banger of undertones. And then you can top it with literally anything when you want more sparkle motion (Hourglass Smoke is really doing it for me today) ✨
I'm pale olive (like HLP) with dark brown eyes and green-leaning brown hair: my perfect bedroom eyes brown is a random tiny pan I popped out of a weird mini palette I got in an Ipsy bag eons ago. Now I have a reference for when I finish up the weird Bang Beauty shadow!
This video is awesome. Feels like an educational "get ready with me" with moments of your personality shining through. lol "galactic space glitter" You are hilarious, and I love that I found this (I was recommended this channel - I have another of your vids on my 'Watch Later'). Thank you for sharing these amazing videos! You're so smart and i appreciate the good you are doing with these videos. Times are so different, and we can't even trust a Mac Cosmetics ad for the representative image of what the color may even be close to.
What about Surratt's Haute Chocolat? Or is it too satin and too warm? Also I would like to add one that I don't know if you've tried but it's the most delicious shimmery brown (albeit stupidly expensive): Chantecaiile's Luminescent Eyeshadow in Giraffe. Also Lazarous from Pat McGrath's Subversive palette is pretty amazing (but more satin than shimmery).
Oh and I need your assistance in finding the name of the color and brand of this oh so lovely bedroom eyes brown palettes that I've been using off and on for over three years now. I thought it would be particularly rewarding for you as well bc it is an awesome shade, temperature, color for the fair skinned, dark haired beauties out there. I'll send a photo of it to your listed email if it doesn't allow me to post the photo here. Thanks!
Loved this video! I have the same affinity with taupe. I love a brown taupe, a lilac taupe, a green taupe, etc, although taupe and bedroom eyes do not sound as lovely together.
Hi! I’m a lurker. Bit late to the party on this video. I watched Hannah on the explosive brown. You are both pretty funny really. Seeing the swatches all over your face is definitely going to cause me to click on the video. In any case, about explosive brown. It’s an opaque reverence to baby shit green just as the baby starts having normal stools. At least that’s my take. Haha!
What is your fave ‘fun & easy formula’ one brown eye shadow, that holds its color throughout my entire work day? I am fair skinned, blue eyes with dark hair.
But Bedroom-Eyes-Brown is what Kackie calls this particular family of colour/textures, she’s not saying she invented the concept of either the eyeshadows or the term bedroom eyes, it’s just her classification of these kinds of shadows.
Great video. Very informative, and i love the conparisons. Thanks for including a range for different skin tones (I live coolwr tonespersonally) as well.

Trinny London Empress. Never travel without it.
I love a cool toned brown, copper browns just don't look good on me, my favorite brown is antique in the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, always wished they had a single of that color.
AmandaZ compared CTOysterPearl to the DiorBeigeMitzah as a color but in powder form and I LOVE!!! Because I hate that CT mousse nonsense.
Oh heck yes! Okay I'll buy it and see
If I could only own one shadow for the rest of my life, Beige Mitzah would be the one!
@@carolbowen4349I might agree with you. It’s quite singular.
No one:
Absolutely NO one:
Not a SINGLE soul:
Kackie: I just look really weird.
Bedroom Eyes Brown is the kind of color that’s always been my go to over the years. I usually end up using a mix of shadows to get the perfect color! The Too Faced Born This Way palette has a good mix of different kinds of brown shimmers and mattes to layer and is one I turn to a lot
I don't have that Byredo shade, but on camera it looks very similar to Wet'N'Wild Nutty, which on its own is also a beautiful shade.
Can't take my eyes off your necklace Kackie!! It's HUGE and I LOVE IT ❤❤ care to share the brand please?
This is a video for life! 🥰 Thank you! The Lisa Eldridge Titania I would describe as my perfect bedroom brown, but there are a few shades in the I Need a Nude palette that is also really good. I actually look for those green undertones (Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Khaki is also a really good bedroom brown). I’m always on the chase for the perfect brown though so economically speaking this was a really really bad video for me to watch. 😭
I love hearing you talk color, all the swatches really allow me to pick up on the color nuances particularly saturation, depths and undertones which just aren’t always evident when looking at just a single item
Great video ❤❤
I´m living for the war paint.
My definition of “dupe” is a dupe for your definition of dupe ;)
Can confirm the Byredo shade is more gold than Oyster Pearl. But for real you need the Dior Beige Mitzah single. It is a powder Oyster Pearl but better. It is EVERYTHING. ❤
Yes!!!
I’m already fighting for neutrals for the perfect eyelid colour.
MAC painterly vs soft ochre for blanking out the eye. I wish groundwork was a little softer.
The two lightest from merit are both warm and cool! Where’s the neutral in between?
I face swatched all my blue shadows the other day and it was a) so much fun b) very informative. Thanks for the idea !
Makeup by Mario Ethereal Eyeshadow Palette for sale right now on his website!!
I was waiting for zora from LE to make an appearance in this swatch videoo to see where it lies in bedroom eyes spectrum😢 but i love it anywayyyy😂 feeeenk you
Funny af how your camera sees your warpaint and decides you're not a face anymore. "THERE'S TOO MANY HOLES IN THAT FACE TO BE A FACE"
ABH Rose Metals is, for me, the best palette she’s ever made. I barely talked myself out of buying a second backup that I don’t need 😂❤
This is my new favorite type of video!!!!✨ face swatch videos foreverrrr!!
Sand Dunes from the No Budge pot eyeshadows from ELF is a really good affordable cool-toned option
Dior 658 beige mitzah is
a great dup for oyster pearl.
Just wow! Lots of work for this awesome video. I’d love this same type of video but best taupes. 😮❤😊
But why did Bobbi Brown name that Jones Road single Penny… like no so misleading!
This video is a really good companion for Alex Anele's recent one on finding the right color values for your face.
For me there is a perfect bedroom brown in the Persona Identity one palette. I’ve been wearing it all summer! Love this video.
Wearing the brown shade from Kaja orange blossom while I watch this ^^
Why does the CHARlotee TILSbury popshot give me deeply rooted from phyto energy?? 😉
Brown mascaras, yes. Any chance you’re getting a take on the new brown one from Ms. Gucci Westman?
Totally off topic but I saw today Victoria Beckham is releasing fragrances! 🤞🏼 Hoping you get them in PR so you can tell us how they are.
I love exaggereyes from charlotte tillbury. The eyes to mesmerise one is a bit shimmery but the prime shade in the quad is good when you build it up.
Me too! So excited!
@@annegriffiths1099 You are very welcome! I am glad you found 'Woodwinked'. :)
Love the video! And I’m 99.9% sure your camera isn’t perceiving your face as an actual human face anymore now that the makeup has removed your facial contours! 😂
I think your swatches acted like camouflage/anti facial recognition to the camera & that's why it wasn't focusing on you 🧐
Excellent video!
I use hourglass ray for this and I feel vindicated that it’s technically included🤣🤣
14:19 this is the most beautiful shade I have ever seen. I wish it wasn't 33$ 😭😭😭😭 anybody know a dupe? At least colorwise
For me it’s Phytosurgence Magnetic Maple (wildly pale and cool toned)…🤗 but now I have to try Crystal Constellation too!
9:27 "It would work as a wall-mount screw. I feel confident saying that." 😂 This is why I love your channel.
Thanks!
Explosive Brown has to be the WORST NAME EVER 😂😂😂
The Mario Ethereal Eyes is coming back in October for those that want it!
Haha!
I love this kind of content! Thank you!
What is your fave ‘fun & easy formula’ one brown eye shadow, that holds its color throughout my entire work day? I am fair skinned, blue eyes with dark hair.
Rewatched this video for like the 3rd or 4th time. 😅 We need an updated bedroom eyes brown video. There are so many new shadows and palettes out now!
Your face looked like part of the background by the end. That’s why your camera got confused.
I face swatched all my blue shadows the other day and it was a) so much fun b) very informative. Thanks for the idea !
Love this video. Could you please tell me what’s on your lips?
Huh?? Bedroom eyes has been around for SO MANY YEARS THOUGH
But Bedroom-Eyes-Brown is what Kackie calls this particular family of colour/textures, she’s not saying she invented the concept of either the eyeshadows or the term bedroom eyes, it’s just her classification of these kinds of shadows.
I thought you swatched Biba palette from Natasha Denona when I saw the promo
Great video. Very informative, and i love the conparisons. Thanks for including a range for different skin tones (I live coolwr tonespersonally) as well.
Have you ever tried Colourpop super shock shadow in Ritz?
I have the 2 my color Chanel loose shadow too. A gluten for punishment 🎉
