    Thanks for getting right into making the bamboo wind chimes! Unfortunately a lot of UA-cam hosts try to do stand up comedy and make it more about themselves than teaching others how to make the project.🙏

    Drop the striker as low as possible. That helps with acoustics.

    Very inspiring! I made a wind chime with tree twigs, I chose a few bendable twigs so I could shape them like letters.

    Your video impressed me a lot. It keeps me watching the video on and on. I am sure that this is my next project!

    The coconut you have is obviously quite old because the meat is very tough and not fit for eating, normally it can easily be scooped out. That coconut would be fit only for making into coconut milk where you use a special coconut grinder to extract the meat, and then further processing to get the milk.

    When the coconut meat is hard like that, that means you had a really mature coconut. The water(not milk) will be more concentrated. Tasting almost spoil or acidic. Here from the Bahamas, and lol I love coconuts and their water.

    Thanks for the video! Hope you can find some safety glasses for your next project, and lower that blade guard for lower height cuts!

    @ 2:10 Not sure if that is an intentional, or coincidental Zombieland reference - but, it was good for a chuckle. I feel the same way. Green coconuts (before the "milk" turns milky) - is outstanding, especially with a shot of Cap'n Morgan rum! Cool project and video - I'm dinking with some river cane I found, it's fun stuff to work with.

    Where did you get the bamboo stalk

    • @MeansWoodshop
      @MeansWoodshop  2 роки тому

      It grows invasively where I’m at. The stalks I got were cleared off of someone’s property.

    Pretty! I’m not much of a coconut fan myself too. I do think your circle in the middle is a little too big.

    • @MeansWoodshop
      @MeansWoodshop  4 роки тому

      Very true. I went back today (about a week later) and made the circle smaller.

    Just so you know, the water inside is coconut water. Coconut milk is made from squeezing the juice from the meat.
    Aloha

    Hey this is a beautiful video! I am looking forward to make my own chimes and I was wondering if you cured your bamboo?

    • @MeansWoodshop
      @MeansWoodshop  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you! No, I don’t believe mine was cured. But I’m not sure how long they had been cut down. Someone cleared them off their property and my dad brought them by. However, I do remember cutting bamboo down when I was younger and it would cure, but wouldn’t warp or anything.

      Mean's Woodshop wow thank you! That’s so incredibly insightful. So it didn’t rot or get moldy? Also I was wondering if you knew if the residue/smell of the bamboo from heating is toxic or bad in any way?

    What kind of saw is that you're using to cut the bamboo/cut the little slits out?

    Great job, and great video and music. Where do you get your bamboo? I can't find any that's not pencil-thin.

    • @MeansWoodshop
      @MeansWoodshop  4 роки тому

      Thanks, Tom! The bamboo grows locally around here. My dad knew someone who was clearing their property of it and brought it to me.

    Tiger King was amazing. It was a roller coaster that never peaked, just kept climbing and climbing...
    Chimes were a great idea! Where’d you get the bamboo?
    Edit: yup, just started another one of your videos and you said where the bamboo comes from, cheers!

    Great project good sir, I am very much enjoying the bamboo builds. For me, coconut in any form is disgusting 😫 And I would also like to loudly proclaim that I believe I am one of only a handful of people in the world that 1) Have never seen Tiger King and 2) Have no desire to do so. lol Hope all is well with you and yours!
