  • No Alex or Tinds this week so Hask has sent out the bat signal and two GBR favourites have answered. Ben Kayser and Jon ‘Fox’ Davies join the pod to discuss one of the most turbulent weeks in the history of Welsh Rugby.
The players and the board are at war but will the players make the historic decision to strike ahead of their pivotal Six Nations clash against England? Foxy gives us the low down on the feelings in and around Cymru.
The boys also preview this weekend’s Six Nations matchups. Ben gives his honest thoughts on the prospect of facing a resurgent Scotland and Hask does his best to get Fox permanently banned from Welsh Rugby.

I always look forward to your potcast, discussions, scientific approach, and all the skinny... With a dash of humor......Thanks......Colin Scot

Great podcast as always. Tinds had left when you two discussed how to make the game more open. He (Tinds) has previously suggested moving the off -side line 2 meters back. Personally I think this is brilliant; More space and more tired players

I would hope so, country of 3 million and nearly 1/30th of the population turns up for a rugby game especially England week. Would be awful for the Cardiff economy.

Hask, if there was ever a moment in time to NOT use the term "bin juice" it's probably now. Henry Slade only plays well when Farrell isn't there for some reason.

Is the elephant in the room here the lack of interest shown by the Welsh public in their own game ? The lack of gate receipts is surely a key reason around the lack of money in their game ? Can they sustain 4 teams like Ireland or should they closer to the Scottish model.

It is very clear that rugby is massively out of kilter with the revenue that it generates. You cannot afford to pay these players 400 K salaries. It might be a short career but it is still their choice. The key here is communication and engagement of the workforce. None of this will happen until all of the football unions Employ people who actually understand about not only rugby but also running a business. The people who are meant to be running the sport are good at selling stadiums, they are not good at running the business or the workforce/employee engagement. I get why the players are banding together and refusing to budge until they can get some resolution on this. To do it. This week is very unfortunate for everybody who supports rugby but does not play for the first 15 of their country. We know how useless the hangers on are, get rid of them all.

So, strike averted. As an 🌹 supporter I will disagree w Ken Owens on just one point- welsh rugby is a joke ONLY where the WRU, regions & admin are concerned. What the players put out there on the pitch, under such lousy working conditions, overseen by a bunch of morons, however, is worthy of great respect and admiration, IMO.
England are going to have to brace for a hell of a Welsh backlash this weekend, I reckon. Looking forward to a hell of a game!

The players in international rugby gets paid more in 6 years than most people get paid in 40 years. If they can't work with their money and plan accordingly, then that's just too bad. I cant go to my boss and demand more money (especially if I'm on contract work) and strike if I don't get what I want. Rugby should be more passion than money, otherwise your team would never win anyway.

What do you do for a living? Does it involve butchering your body to the point you have arthritis in your late 30s? Do you risk serious injury every time you're in work? Let's put the money they earn in perspective please. It's not comparable with average joe jobs. Look at the number of x players suffering with serious medical issues post retirement. Your comment is about as relevant as Rick astley in classical opera

It's not just international players that are planning to strike, it's every professional player in Wales on behalf of every other professional player in Wales, because there's no budget assigned for anyone.
