    There is a degree of irony seeing the lads talk about the likes of Bath and Northampton as ‘the lifeblood’ of English Rugby, just weeks after discussing the inception of global super clubs in a Saudi-backed league, which would alienate the fans of these clubs from the game itself

      They just want to jump on the gravy train like all the other weasel press in world sport.

      How are Saints going to afford their England back line in 18/24 months... they are not.
      Just like Saracens before them they would have to break the rules.
      At GBR we weren't talking about break up the Prem. Far from it. We were talking about creating a tournament above the Prem that pays the best players what they deserve, and takes pressure off Prem clubs.

      Marcus Smith has 31 caps so he is hardly overlooked. He went into the RWC rightly 3rd choise #10 after Farrell and Ford. Given an opportunity at #15 as well .
      Finn Smith is rightly being discussed being the form #10 so what’s the problem ?
      He is in the squad for Englands tour, the teams for Japan and NZ haven’t even been announced and your moaning about him getting overlooked ffs.

    Hask is the fin Russell of the GBR team.
    Team much better with him there.
    Even if he is a liability 😊

    20 min red in Super for a few years. Big matches being heavily compromised due to accidents is a blight on the game. I've noticed the Super refs have let plenty of high contact go when there is any hint of mitigation too.

    As an Englishman living in New Zealand this is the best opportunity for a long time that England has to win in NZ. Strong England squad, All Blacks an unknown quantity. With a new coach, heaps of experienced players are gone from the mix. This will be their first runout. However there is the Razor factor; he oozes team cohesion, and still many quality players who may need a little time to gel. Exciting! I agree. I would love to see a three-test tour, and (call me old-fashioned) a proper tour like the old days with mid-week games against provincial teams. I know player welfare, too many games etc.
    Are the GBR team coming down to NZ with this tour?

    I would go further on the "orange card": couple this with reduction of replacements allowed in a game. Have a bench of 8 to have full positional coverage, but only allow 5 replacements. Meaning that if a player gets sent off, it will only leave 4 replacements for injury or tactics. That would be enough of a penalty on the team, without ruining the game itself by playing it 14 vs. 15. The added benefit with the reduction of replacement would be the onus on stamina vs. power, and killing off 6+2 or 7+1 bomb squads, which are a perversion of this game.

  • @andrebotes3101
    @andrebotes3101 13 днів тому +1

    I believe the 20 minute red card currently is designed to work like your proposed orange card.

    While yes, Hask bought details and stats and enthusiasm to the episode, he may have also not let Tins and Alex actually speak ... 😆
    Good episode and all here for the three match series, so much more exciting (I'm reminded of England's lengthy winning streak of the past where they only played NZ one or two times; that definitely helps your win stats - NZ v England is oddly rare compared to other matchups).

    • @ct4706
      @ct4706 11 днів тому

      agreed ... Hask is better for clicks and views but the quality of the rugby discourse sadly declines when he's on ... compared with Shane Horgan for example .... or even Will Greenwood ....

      @Rosalicious297 11 днів тому +1

      That’s because he’s the only interesting one who says original things. Way more energy to the pod with Hask involved. As for people who never shut up, I give you Will Greenwood, who is turgid and stuck in the past.

    Re the sun tan thing in France at altitude, it’s not because you are closer to the sun it’s because the air is thinner and the UV rays are less filtered. The sun is 152 million Km away so 1000m of altitude is irrelevant. Just saying

    Regarding the choice of Marler, George, Cole. Only once has Borthwick started Marler and Cole (SA WC semi). He obviously appreciates the scrummaging value of one of them on the bench. I would predict Cole would start with Marler on the bench.

    • @jstone5239
      @jstone5239 12 днів тому

      No one asked but my starting pack is:
      Baxter, George, Cole (Marler, Dan, Stuart on bench)
      Maro, Martin (Ewels for lineout on the bench)
      T Curry, Earl, Underhill (with CCS on the bench)

    Disappointed from being my favourite podcast to not being in the top 4 rugby podcasts now. Only my opinion but was looking forward to talking through the touring England squad. About 5 mins of that I switched off . Hask cracking the jokes and not really taking it seriously. Liked to have heard Tindall opinion on the players selection. love a joke and feel Big Jim Hamilton and Andy Goode on their podcast get a nice balance. Missed Jonny may on here today . Maybe next watch it when he’s back on . Sorry but Love talking England

      That's just ADHD for you mate, I've got it and it's like your mouth moves before your brain thinks about it sometimes and once you have a thought you have to say it then before it's gone or you've got something else to say. We don't always want to be like it but you cant help it sometimes.
