So let me get this straight. A 4yr old can bravely speak out about physical & sexual abuse. MULTIPLE people can witness MULTIPLE corroborating injuries of that abuse & the perpetrator isn’t even arrested??

I think i should be a social worker because i would just take the kid to the police station if i lost my job so be it i would have saved a kid i am in no way saying the worker was wrong she was put in an awful position can not imagine how she must have felt but being a mother myself im very confident i would just remove the child with that much physical evidence shame on dcfs!!

I know of a little girl who told her teacher that her mother had choked her and her dad broke the door down to save her. The teacher told CPS and the Social Worker called the mother to tell her what her daughter said. It didn't come out until, during a meeting with three Social Workers, one was the SW involved, the dad said what happened and the one in charged asked why he didn't report it. The SW got into trouble and the mom got charged. They made her move out for a while and then allowed her to move back into the house. Her hearing hasn't happened yet.
I couldn’t agree more! Our family has been fighting for years to keep our little niece safe. They don’t care about the kids, they care about their government funding.
Let's not make blanket statements..the actual people going to homes and doing assessments are way overworked,exhausted and miss lots of things due to the combination of the mentioned as well as many other things. I agree,perhaps some do not do their job but there are many people who do it because they care. In this field its called empathy burn out..The jobs do not pay well at all,so most that choose to do this exceptionally difficult job are in it because they care...The ones at the top that cover shit up are all politically motivated,well paid and looking out for their own a$$es. Honestly CPS just comes in and makes things worse most of the time, my stepdad sexually abused me as a kid CPS came in i was too scared to say anything to them and they ended up just leaving. My stepdad never went to jail.

Death is too good for him. I have always wanted them live in prison without the possibility of parole. Death is an easy way out. Imagine living the rest of your life without a purpose? Well we had a situation locally a few years ago and the mother reported concerns including one of the girls claiming she had been molested and the MCFD ignored her and the court forced her to let the murderer have visitation would you blame the Mother for that death too? This is why I don't date as a single parent of 3 small kids. I know how dark the world can be and I'm trying my best to protect my babies. If it means being single until they're grown, I'm ok with that. Because statically it's usually someone you know and trust that will hurt your children. That's horrifying. I know first hand how true that is too because my parents had no idea when it happened to me throughout my childhood.

This child was molested by an ex-boyfriend of her mother. And then when physically abused by the mother’s friend and her friend’s boyfriend. 4 grown adults abused this child. And then for CYFD to not only not do anything about the situation, especially when the case worker is telling you do not let the kid back with them. The amount of evidence that they had is just ridiculous why they so baldly wanted to leave the kid again with the mother. And then to try and cover up all of that after the child was killed? What a mess!
I don’t understand why this poor child was allowed to go back home after seeing what was done to him. How could they give this child back to his abusers? After the child told the police and everyone what was being done to him? Why tf was no one arrested at that moment? This is crazy to me!
Schools (elementary - college) often respond this way in regards to sexual abuse allegations involving students. Unfortunately most of our public systems are being run by soulless assholes. 😢

That boy was a sweet soul. You can tell he was by his behavior with the officer, investigators, dr, nurses. The fact he felt safe enough to tell the dr he was being hurt, that took strength and required trust, trust he would be kept safe. The CYFD let him down. They failed. The parents and all employees involved in the coverup need to be charged and arrested. Absolutely disgusting and devastating.
I can't imagine how confused that little guy must have felt. A mum who doesn't protect him from male adults molesting and beating him, a friend of the mum who even lies to the police about it... Maybe the females were beating him as well... He probably even got his hopes up after talking with the doctor, officers and CYFD. But instead he was thrown forward and back between abuse and safety. I wonder if the conversations in these clips might have been the only time he actually got to experience real trust... And, on top of everything, these people tried to cover it up?! It's not possible to put words on that level of cowardice. I hope they feel the pain of the abuse and death of this little boy for the rest of their lives. I really hope it eats them up.

Being abused by my stepdad at a young age and seeing him abuse my mother and hitting my little siblings and standing up to him to defend my mom who didn't defend us coming from that background this makes me so mad... everytime any incident like this happens they need to put jurors who have been victims of abuse themselves at a young age on the case to stand up for the victim. I wish I could trade my life for his. I have taken my life for granted and have been severely depressed for the past 5 years I have not been living really. @Tony Odom I can totally relate to your story and your mental struggle that is why my blood boils when I come across these incredibly sad stories; they deplete me emotionally. I've found that talking about my abuse has helped me to heal. It's like letting it out into the world and exhaling out of my life, that and some therapy or sharing it with my siblings also helps us all out. It's never too late to make a positive change. It sounds like you've already taken the first step by realizing the toll its taken on you and the time it's taken from you living in sadness. Godspeed my friend.

I was a high school librarian, retired now. One of our library helpers committed suicide. At his funeral, his English teacher said he'd written an essay describing the sexual abuse he'd suffered for years. She said "Should I have reported that?" GODS ABOVE, YES! Teachers are mandatory reporters. I TRIED to get her teaching license lifted, I tried to get the sheriff involved investigating the older brother, but nothing happened. The Sheriff told me, "He's dead now, so what's the problem?"
How can someone hurt a baby. He was just a baby. This is heartbreaking. So sad. This should not happen. That doctor was a hero calling police. I know they have too if they suspect abuse. I've never cried this much. I can't imagine how bad the abuse was for him and able to speak up about it. I know he's resting peacefully now and doesn't feel any pain.
This happens WAY too many times, in New Mexico. I have reported several cases of abuse that I have seen in my elementary school students. I have only received one phone call from all of those cases that I have reported. The case they actually called me back on was a case of a parent who would not get her kid to class for several months. They never called on the kids that were actually telling me they were being hurt by their family member. It is soooo discouraging when I am trying to help a kid, who trusted me enough to finally tell me-only to have someone drop the ball!
The same thing happened here in Houston to an autistic child. I believe it was last year when the mother’s boyfriend beat him to death and the moment they knew he was deceased the mom and boyfriend left the child’s siblings in the apartment for months in there with the deceased brother. I don’t think the mother and boyfriend have even gone to trial yet. It will only get worse once Roe V. Wade is overturned. 😔
I think the reason he asked if he was okay… is because when a kid (or even an adult, anyone) is being abused, they learn to pay close attention to the moods of their abuser as a way to try to protect themselves. Not all kids are gonna be as thoughtful as to ask an adult if they’re okay. It’s just not typically in the nature of a child to worry about an adult; they usually get to see the adults around as there for them - to keep them safe, etc. but this little boy didn’t get to feel that.

well let's see im 52 and yes that is important. i was taken by cps from my bio parents due to neglect an placed in a home where i was abused in every way you can think of then at sixteen i was taken by cps again due to the abuse and placed in the system where i was neglected, starved to the point i became seriously ill and had to rushed to the hospital after that i was allowed to live on my own so no it wont change that was the 80s by the way

I'm going through this in farmington. CYFD is protecting the man who sexualy abused me for 12 years and now 3 other boys including my brother. I have been in court for 2 years now and not just cyfd but police, the courts and other agencies seem to be propedophile and protect them.

As a kid who grew up in the foster care program, this story really affected me. I hope the mom and the mom’s friend both get locked up for a long time and the friend’s boyfriend never sees the light of day again.
How was the foster care program for you? Sorry to ask about past traumas but i want to know are foster homes good? Have they made any changes to make it better or are they just as bad as before?
@@Fishingandstones eh. we're all human, so there's bound to be issues in all of them. since you're a kid during it, the influence of the home itself can be pretty profound. however you're never in one place for very long, at least I wasn't. Before I was finally adopted at age 8, I had been in at least 4 homes that I can remember, and likely even more than that. Each home had it's own influence, however since you're subjected to so many different kinds of influence, none of them are overly strong. whereas if you're raised in a traditional home, that influence can be so powerful, that you may never even fully realize its impact, which could make dealing w/ it very challenging. conversely however, if you're raised in a good, nurturing environment, the impact is likely superior to anything you could hope to find in foster home. in my experience, foster families break down like this. first you have the families that are ridiculously large and chaotic and just not a great fit for someone who hasn't had an opportunity to be integrated into that particular family dynamic from the start. then you have the, holier than thou and vastly morally superior to others, christian foster family who adopt as a way to raise public opinion, and as a child you're nothing more than a tool to sate them. then you have the i need money, and adopting children is a great way circumvent the requisite guidelines for running a daycare. tl;dr your mileage with foster care will vary, however it's unlikely to be superior to a traditional household setting and could possibly, as is the case in the story above, be vastly inferior.

My mother is narcissistic and bipolar and my sister is narcissistic and psychotic and my father was narcissistic and schizophrenic my whole family is pure evil and the only reason why I suspect they never took my life is because they didn't want to be locked up. Now I'm a mess with deep depression PTSD and other issues that almost too my life and even escaping my toxic family was very difficult because of the lack of job's and strict rental requirements. I ended up homeless and in an abusive homeless shelter. My point is that no matter where you come from you can because a victim of abuse.

So unfair that this adorable little boy lived with two different men, one that sexually abused him and the next physically abused him. As a mother of a son, my heart breaks for that sweet boy and my anger overflows for those that should have protected, but didn’t. Rest easy, free of pain inflicted by others, little one. The fact that the case worker was pleading with her supervisor to keep the poor little boy in foster home and she was told to calm down is unbelievable, how deverstating for her to know that she did her job properly and still it wasn't enough to keep the child alive and now she is going to have to live with the horror of what that poor kid must have gone through and the damage that could do her is tragic.
As a kid from New Mexico that was in the CYFD system I feel blessed for the people that made sure I was safe, made sure I didn’t get sent back to an abusive drug filled home. CYFD took my stepsons from his father when his narcissist ex made blatantly false abuse allegations because she heard he was starting a business and wanted that child $upport (after my husband raised them for 10 years without her OR her child support) and CYFD also lied to us and said the my stepson was suicidal and he said he never ever said that. Then they put them in his mom's boyfriends house while the guy was on felony drug trafficking probation and the guy choked one of the boys and got arrested for child abuse and CYFD STILL kept the children there. Meanwhile my husband has a clean record and never had any legal allegations of abuse nor any arrests for abuse, unlike the man whose home they put the kids in. They make shit up and hide shit because they love to see kids get hurt and murdered. They're worse than a waste of space. They are literally a corporation, like a franchise for human trafficking. Some people don't give a fuck about the damage they do to children as long as they have their little fake feelings of control and power.
I will never understand how an adult can inflict any kind of pain to a child. This is so heartbreaking, these poor children that we continue to hear about being abused. Every child protection agency I've dealt with during my time in pediatrics are a fkn joke. It's disgusting. Honestly at least 99% of the workers are more concerned with getting the case off their desk then the actual child's safety. You can never get ahold of them either and they never return calls. It's frustrating, disappointing, and concerning.
Seems like those with the least amount of empathy for others end up in positions of power. They may not make a lot of money, but money is all they care about. I know of a little girl who told her teacher that her mother had choked her and her dad broke the door down to save her. The teacher told CPS and the Social Worker called the mother to tell her what her daughter said.
It didn't come out until, during a meeting with three Social Workers, one was the SW involved, the dad said what happened and the one in charged asked why he didn't report it. The SW got into trouble and the mom got charged. They made her move out for a while and then allowed her to move back into the house. Her hearing hasn't happened yet.

Well we had a situation locally a few years ago and the mother reported concerns including one of the girls claiming she had been molested and the MCFD ignored her and the court forced her to let the murderer have visitation would you blame the Mother for that death too? It's the court and family services at fault and just denied the mother her parental rights to protect her child.

That boy was a sweet soul. You can tell he was by his behavior with the officer, investigators, dr, nurses. The fact he felt safe enough to tell the dr he was being hurt, that took strength and required trust, trust he would be kept safe. The CYFD let him down. They failed. The parents and all employees involved in the coverup need to be charged and arrested. Absolutely disgusting and devastating.

I've found that talking about my abuse has helped me to heal. It's like letting it out into the world and exhaling out of my life, that and some therapy or sharing it with my siblings also helps us all out. It's never too late to make a positive change. This happens WAY too many times, in New Mexico. I have reported several cases of abuse that I have seen in my elementary school students. I have only received one phone call from all of those cases that I have reported. The case they actually called me back on was a case of a parent who would not get her kid to class for several months. They never called on the kids that were actually telling me they were being hurt by their family member. It is soooo discouraging when I am trying to help a kid, who trusted me enough to finally tell me-only to have someone drop the ball!

I think the reason he asked if he was okay… is because when a kid (or even an adult, anyone) is being abused, they learn to pay close attention to the moods of their abuser as a way to try to protect themselves. Not all kids are gonna be as thoughtful as to ask an adult if they’re okay. It’s just not typically in the nature of a child to worry about an adult; they usually get to see the adults around as there for them - to keep them safe, etc. but this little boy didn’t get to feel that.

As a kid who grew up in the foster care program, this story really affected me. I hope the mom and the mom’s friend both get locked up for a long time and the friend’s boyfriend never sees the light of day again.

@@Fishingandstones eh. we're all human, so there's bound to be issues in all of them. since you're a kid during it, the influence of the home itself can be pretty profound. however you're never in one place for very long, at least I wasn't. Before I was finally adopted at age 8, I had been in at least 4 homes that I can remember, and likely even more than that. Each home had it's own influence, however since you're subjected to so many different kinds of influence, none of them are overly strong. whereas if you're raised in a traditional home, that influence can be so powerful, that you may never even fully realize its impact, which could make dealing w/ it very challenging. conversely however, if you're raised in a good, nurturing environment, the impact is likely superior to anything you could hope to find in foster home.
in my experience, foster families break down like this. first you have the families that are ridiculously large and chaotic and just not a great fit for someone who hasn't had an opportunity to be integrated into that particular family dynamic from the start. then you have the, holier than thou and vastly morally superior to others, christian foster family who adopt as a way to raise public opinion, and as a child you're nothing more than a tool to sate them. then you have the i need money, and adopting children is a great way circumvent the requisite guidelines for running a daycare.
tl;dr your mileage with foster care will vary, however it's unlikely to be superior to a traditional household setting and could possibly, as is the case in the story above, be vastly inferior.

My mother is narcissistic and bipolar and my sister is narcissistic and psychotic and my father was narcissistic and schizophrenic my whole family is pure evil and the only reason why I suspect they never took my life is because they didn't want to be locked up.
Now I'm a mess with deep depression PTSD and other issues that almost too my life and even escaping my toxic family was very difficult because of the lack of job's and strict rental requirements.
I ended up homeless and in an abusive homeless shelter.

@@winning3329 yeah, there's no question that either can be hell. my adoptive family was pretty horrible. since i didn't get there till i was 8 tho, the influence of them was fairly minor. i lived there 9 years, and haven't spoken to my parents for nearly 2 decades. the one saving grace was i got adopted w/ 2 of my siblings, so we were able to confide in each other. i've done the homeless thing for a couple years overall, and my life has been challenging, much like your own. but you know what? at the end of the day all those trials only serve to make us stronger. best of luck to you in all your future endeavors and remember, how we define ourselves is purely up to us.

The fact that the case worker was pleading with her supervisor to keep the poor little boy in foster home and she was told to calm down is unbelievable, how deverstating for her to know that she did her job properly and still it wasn't enough to keep the child alive and now she is going to have to live with the horror of what that poor kid must have gone through and the damage that could do her is tragic.

Then they put them in his mom's boyfriends house while the guy was on felony drug trafficking probation and the guy choked one of the boys and got arrested for child abuse and CYFD STILL kept the children there. Meanwhile my husband has a clean record and never had any legal allegations of abuse nor any arrests for abuse, unlike the man whose home they put the kids in. They make shit up and hide shit because they love to see kids get hurt and murdered. They're worse than a waste of space. They are literally a corporation, like a franchise for human trafficking. I'm not excusing what the boyfriend did but I do want to point out to people that there is alot of people running around who are mentally unstable.
Mental health services should be affordable for everyone and this is the main reason people don't seek out help.
What a sweet little boy. This child didn't deserve that, he suffered. And his situation was ignored!! Rip in peace little one. Someone tryed too keep you safe, but they were ignored.
Every child protection agency I've dealt with during my time in pediatrics are a fkn joke. It's disgusting. Honestly at least 99% of the workers are more concerned with getting the case off their desk then the actual child's safety. You can never get ahold of them either and they never return calls. It's frustrating, disappointing, and concerning.
Seems like those with the least amount of empathy for others end up in positions of power. They may not make a lot of money, but money is all they care about. It's just as bad or worse when it comes to the creepy ultra wealthy that own hospitals, prisons, etc. I have no idea how we address this cancer.

This broke me. It hurts so bad. I can’t. Through all that pain, he was still so sweet. At least 6 adults knew what was going on. I am childless and this story tore me up. God bless him and RIP.

Don’t blame the case worker she tried to do the right thing! And her managers covered it up. They should personally be criminally charged because failing to do their job correctly cost this child his life 😭💔

It sounds like at least one caseworker tried to do what was right. This is heartbreaking. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to be that caseworker.
Secondary trauma lasting a lifetime, additional mental health strain, and zero government resources or support.
This is why I want to be a pediatric nurse. I want to help kids who don't know better, adults know better, kids don't and therefore they need most of out help and attention over adults.
I hope those case workers who allowed that child to go home with his mother get charged in his death because their actions lead to his death also.
Give us the names and show us the faces of the case workers assigned, the original and fill-in's, as well as the supervisors who had even the tiniest to do with this case.
Expose them for who they are, just in it for a paycheck.
This breaks my heart why does this keep happening. I hope everyone involved goes to prison for this especially the CYFD workers!!! And the mother!!
