I remember watching these guys as a kid with my Mum. I liked them then and now at 60 , I like them even more. Great to hear them again
I'm 63, and as a child, we went to Torquay for our summer holidays, and that's where I saw them and, as you say, loved them since
Me too.
I lost my beautiful wife last year, I had a calling to visit the family grave, for some reason I sang this brilliant song at the top of my voice!
As long as you got peace from it
I lost my beautiful girl also last year.. Not a day passes I don't think of her.. She was perfect..I'm so sorry for your loss. Its so painful
The Bible book of Revelation holds out a promise for us who have lost loved ones in chapter 24 verse 3&4 thankfully!
Here on earth, Death has not ever occured in heaven!
Ahhhh bless ya you are amazing
A beautiful song sung by the wonderful Batchelors.
@@susanspeed2298 er...... that's a brand of soup.
WOW! I'd forgotten the Bachelors.. till this moment, and they were awesome.
Me to.
I also remember watching these guys several years ago. I'm now in my early 70's and still enjoy listening to the very positive lyrics
Brilliant music and legend
@@mikerobbins2419 ME TOO
No gimmicks, just pure talent.
They just don't make them like this anymore. Simply pure music and words.
Peace.
Very well said Colin.
Just . love them 8
Couldn't agree with you more, the music these days is so noisy. 🇬🇧
Actually they do, people like you just don't listen anymore
@@Seventu1zp please do tell.
the original boy band and the best.
My Dad's favourite song miss you Dad x
My mum loved these guys too...miss you mum.
They were fantastic, saw them live in the 60s and their voices carried all around, beautiful voices.
My total pleasure was to see these amazing guys on a P&O cruise out of San Francisco and having the experience of having my photo with them passing under the Golden Gate Bridge. Perfect
I grew up listening to The Batchelors, still love their songs today ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I went to Blackpool North Pier about 25 years ago to watch a performance of the bachelor this point of time there was a fourth member to the group , but I needed to worried because the performance, especially when they sang I believe was fantastic .👏👏👏
@@kennethbowell4564 You're so lucky to have seen them. I remember liking them when I was a young girl. My favourite song of theirs was Diane, although all the songs they brought out were beautiful. I've never been to Blackpool, I live in Swansea South Wales
My grandad used to belt this song out everytime he played it . Makes me cry everytime I watch this especially on the day he left us and gained his angel wings . Born in the 80s but grew up with the music of the 60s/70s .
Way before my time to ❤
64 and still love listening to these . Sing on bachelors brilliant xx❤
Beat you I'm 75 and lucky to be here.
This is such a great memory !! - and maybe a brave song to sing at the time !!
Beautiful song, sang by an amazing group.
My husband used to sing this when he did the club scene ❤
❤ this song as a child. Still do. Thanks for the memory.
Likewise, i play this regularly 👍
Gosh......this brought back memories! I remember singing this with my mum back in the 1960s. We used to turn the gramophone way up loud and raise the rafters. So pleased that this popped up in my feed!
Beautiful harmony and lyrics that you just can't buy. Yes 3 men dressed in beige back then - I do hope that aspiring singers today look beyond what was the fashion back then and focus on basic talent, to hold a note and be able to sing in different keys and not over-sing, give space to the song etc
I have always loved this song from the moment I watched them perform it when I was a child.
Such a touching song
Wonderful song, sung by the most beautiful voice,R.I.P. Con so sad to hear of his passing
Its devastatingly sad. Con was such a warm kind loveable human being he was my mums friend
This is quality.
Not heard this for 50 years. My mother would play their album over and over. I remember the record cover, 3 shows girls with the Bachelors sat below.
my mother adored this group what harmony, doesent get better than this
My mother’s 2nd cousin co-wrote this song. His (stage) name was Jimmy Shirl. I’m 65 now...I met him a few times when I was a little girl. As I remember he was a nice man.You have to have had a special soul to contribute to this magnificent song.
so glad i happen to chose to listen to I BELIEVE song!! i plan on having this played by casette at my "celebration of life" whenever that is in the future.
just love the words to this. please thank jimmy shirl & other co-writer ok!
betty gordon, ames, iowa
@@bettygordon3773 It is beautiful that you chose this song to be incorporated into your “celebration of life” plans. The lyrics describe the profound majesty of Our Creator in terms that we mortals can appreciate and relate to. Unfortunately Jimmy Shirl is deceased (I’m not sure about the co-writer, but I think he probably passed away as well) but I think that your sentiments have reached him in Heaven…Thank you for your kind reply to my comment
What a lovely story x
Top Drawer been going for 50 years plus and still as good as ever..Long live The Bachelors
Why do performers consistently ruin remembrance by regeneration? Answer $.
What a respectable singing group the bachelors were - wish I could have had the pleasure of meeting them in person
Absolutely wonderful and the song smile for my Diane My dad loved it
Saw them in the 1970's at the Fiesta Club in Sheffield. We met Dec and Con afterwards in the bar, lovely memories of thier show
Beautiful song, brought a tear , thinking of my parents, they both loved and sang along with this when it came on :'(
Im so glade your parents liked the song i sent phyllis delellis
My Christian faith is embedded in this most beautiful of songs.
There is truth in EVERY word of it.
One of my dad's favourite songs
My mother’s 2nd cousin co-wrote this song. His name was Jimmy Shirl...I met him a few times and as I remember (I’m 65 now) he was a nice man ( but anyone who took part in writing this beautiful song had to be pretty special).
Played this at my dad's funeral he loved this song, just played it again and the words are amazing
I know every word from when I was young. So nice to hear again.
Such a brilliant song, sung by such a wonderful group.
Had played at my dads funeral . Saw the Batchers live at Congo football club in Northamptonshire.in 1981 ish great group mum and dad loved them and so do I.
My mums favourites, so I always think of her when I play this song
One of the most under-rated acts of the last few decades. I remember listening to their "Best of volume 2" Album when I was a kid, and loving it.
Brings back happy times
I have just seen these at my local club and cant believe they can still put on a good show .Before Elvis i used to listen to them and thought then they were lovely and they still are
These were my first love on television and still are today. After seeing them sing at my local club the memories came flooding back and i realised what good entertainment is lol..
+mary duffy I am going to see The Batchelors in a few weeks time. Am so looking forward to it.....just over the Scottish border from where I live. I love this song...equally from being a kid The Unicorn was my favourite!!
I have to confess one of the best songs ever
EXCELLENT and far to good for that audiance
I absolutely love this song and I have since I was a child growing up in the 60s with much older sisters. It’s sad that none of its sentiment came true for me. I tried three times and failed. At 67 that chapter has closed, never to be opened again. It is a beautiful song I just can’t say I still believe anymore.
This was my grandmothers favourite song from her favourite singers heavily outnumbered by the family I insisted this was played at her funeral to the point that I said if it's not played I will stand up and sing it I won the day it was played and after at the wake everybody said I was right and it definitely was the right choice ❤

These guys are so professional. I had the pleasure to be in their company in 2008 on the costa blanca. They were late and the crowd were getting 😮 i had to appease them 😮😮. When they came on stage and sang you could hear a pin drop. Magnificent xxx best gig ever ❤
It’s 8/25/24 from Austin, Tx🤘🏼and this song was awesome! I’m 75 and still rockin the oldies 🥳🎶
Over the years I have heard many singers perform this song, but I believe The Bachelors had one of the best renditions of this song ever. Also "Marie" and " Diane" are great recordings by The Bachelors.
Elvis's rendition is wonderful as well.
There are a few good renditions but The Bachelors are special.
Youth of today are lost with the rubbish they listen to...thank god i have the music from the Platters onwards to enjoy.
The music from this time is so special.
One of the best songs ever ❤
I still play them, I love them!
Some of the greatest music to listen to cry to so many emotions good or bad

@@JJohnson1340 Then WHY are you here - you ballbrain?
Not only do you get Great music from the 50's and 60's on UA-cam but you often get news about different groups and their success. In this case seeing that The Bachelors had more top 10 records in 1964 than The Beatles, surprises me. However I do consider them one of the best and most enjoyable Group's to listen to from the mid-60's era. Thanks for posting all their great music
Yes, I believe it was 4 to 3 for the Bachelors. in the U.K. However, time would soon change that but well deserved the bachelors. Different sound but great to hear.
Entertainment will not get much better than this.
This brings me back to the sixties when as a teenager I lived in England, they were brilliant.
beautiful song . I love The Bachelors. Thank you very much.
I remember seeing The Bachelors live late 1970s/early 1980s. My nan was a big fan and she used to come with us on holiday. Could have been Bournemouth. It was a great show and hearing them brings back a lot of memories.
What a lovely bloke
When I was about 8yrs old in 1989 I spent an afternoon with p.j at a bar called Angels in Wigan
He was there with his girlfriend who was a psychic
I still remember how nice he was to me now '
We chatted all afternoon about ww2 aircraft and about me taking up an instrument ' god bless him
Beautiful.
Hello 👋🏼 Susan Briggs
When I was a 7/8 year old we as a family to Weston Super Mare.. we saw chubby checker and others, these were there too, it’s taken me years to find them as nobody new who I was talking about ! You know they sang that big song, three men..And here you are, flashes of memories, with my dear Dad who has now past.. so excuse me while I linger here and reminisce ❤❤❤
Saw these at Blackpool Opera House with my Parents I am 66 yrs old now awesome
I was fortunate enough to meet Dec and Con last night! They still sound fantastic!
God I loved these guys. So handsome. Irish of course. Timeless.
Especially Con - John loved himself too much.
