- Eternal Father, Strong to Save-Hymn Sing
Four verses: Three in C; One in Db
Verse 1:
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bids the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.
Verse 2:
O Christ, the Lord of hill and plain
O'er which our traffic runs amain
By mountain pass or valley low:
Wherever, Lord, our brethren go,
Protect them by Thy guarding hand
From ev'ry peril on the land.
Verse 3:
O Spirit, whom the Father sent
To spread abroad the firmament:
O Wind of Heaven, by Thy might
Save all who dare the eagle's flight,
And keep them by Thy watchful care
From ev'ry peril in the air.
Verse 4:
O Trinity of love and pow'r,
Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go.
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad praise from air and land and sea.

Thank you! Love this so much.
You're welcome, Faithie J.! Have a blessed week!
This is such an awesome song. I never put the words & music together until I saw the words posted on the door of a store on a reservation in northern Montana. It was illustrated as a tribute to brave men & women. Then my son found it on a Tennessee Ernie Ford record.
You did a beautiful job! Thanks so much!!!!🕊🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏾
It's nice to see it reflected in different cultures, Brenda Ann. Thanks for sharing your story about the hymn. (And you can't go wrong with Tennessee Ernie Ford!)
@@GeriRosser - So true!! My son has quite a collection of his records!
Ok, very nice gentle melody, I hope you have fun and happiness, my friend🌹
Thank you! And thanks for listening!
