Thx for sharing your story. My friend has the same cancer and is in stage four. Her doctors told her it’s aggressive and the chemo has damaged her body bad so she thinks there’s no hope. But this video might change her mind. Thanks for sharing this. I’ll show her the video and institute! God bless you always!
just finished my CAR T Cell Therapy, still scared and feeling very vulnerable. Had to spend 14 days in patient because of the bloody virus, no visitors which was not great. Sure would be nice to develop a group for us?
Did you get the neurotoxicity side affect? I asked cuz my dad is in the hospital right now for the car T cell therapy and he got that neurotoxicity side affect and hurts to see him struggle. His on his 4th day with that side affect. I was told that it typically last 4-7 days 🙏🏽.
Carolyn I will be starting CAR T CELL therapy in December of this year and would love to have someone to talk to that has been through it. There is a Lymphoma group on Facebook you can join, but I have found only one person who has been through it. Let me know how you are doing.
Carolyn Today is Day 47 for me, I had my treatment done at Presbyterian st Luke hospital in Denver and My team of doctors were from Colorado Blood Cancer Institute. My first PET scan showed Zero activity and got the best score that you can get. I will be getting blood tests every week here in North Colorado and monthly checkups at the Institute down in Denver. I was also told that those Genetically modified T cells can stay in you for years. I kinda think that is a plus that those T cells can fight off the BIG C several months after your initial treatment.
Car t cell therapy kind of destroyed my dad...is right arm and leg is stiff...and he has something wrong in his brain...😢.and the cancer came back...idk what to feel about it he is only 62yrs old...wairing to hear how long he has left...I love my father and when we talked he told me he regreted doing the car t cell therapy idk what to think
anmol's funtime $475,000 for a single treatment, which most people can’t afford and most insurance won’t pay anything at all (absurd!). My Dad is waiting to get it; he is going through the chemo now before infusion of the T-cells. Medicare will only pay 10% of that but they’re already massively in debt from 4 years of fighting this horrible disease. Luckily hospitals accept tiny payments each month because they know most people go broke trying to survive this disease. Sad that people’s lives depend so much on money. 😔 Also, not everyone is approved for CAR t-cell treatment. It could be your last option and they could deny you. It’s a terrifying process to go through with a loved one. Waiting to find out if he was approved was as scary as waiting the first time we found out he had cancer. Anyway, that’s the price!
@@a.j.4024 my daughter is on Medicare and she done car-t and paid nothing. Trump signed a order I believe 12-2019 for Medicare insurance to use this treatment.
Hi! The cost of CAR T cell therapy treatment may vary according to an individual's circumstances. Not all insurance policies cover CAR T cell therapy. In the United States, Medicare covers CAR T cell therapies. For financial resources, visit www.cancerresearch.org/patients/free-resources-support-answers/helpful-links
