    Hello. I have an 06 version of this bike and I was wondering could you maybe upload a picture of the radiator neck to maybe imagur or something similar? I just bought a new radiator cap since my bike is overheating so i thought that might be the issue, but for some odd reason I can't get the new cap to seat properly. I got into a mild crash which caused this so I'm wondering if the neck to my radiator is possibly damaged which is causing the system to not work properly

    • @jeffhumes
      @jeffhumes  2 роки тому

      unfortunately, this bike is no longer in my garage...
      first the obvious questions: did you notice any coolant leaking from anywhere?
      this overheating was not happening before the accident?

    • @Luv-dq5th
      @Luv-dq5th 2 роки тому

      @@jeffhumes overheating was not happening before the accident no. And the leak was coming right out the radiator cap. I ended up staying out there for another hour and was able to manhandle the cap on though. But my temp gauge is still reading too high. I'm thinking it may be a bad thermostat since before the cap when it got to 230 my bike would start smoking, but after I added the cap it was still reading 230 but no smoke showed itself

    • @jeffhumes
      @jeffhumes  2 роки тому

      @@Luv-dq5th when you say "when it got to 230 my bike would start smoking", are you saying that it would really start smoking? like blue or white smoke out the tailpipe? what kind of smoking? any literal smoking is not really normal.

    • @Luv-dq5th
      @Luv-dq5th 2 роки тому

      @@jeffhumes it was smoking in the radiator when temps got to 230 before I replaced my cap. No smoke out of the exhaust

    • @jeffhumes
      @jeffhumes  2 роки тому

      @@Luv-dq5th do you think it was more like steam than smoke? either way, it should not be doing either, even at 230 degrees... 230 degrees is hot but not overly so
      did you take any pictures or video of this occurring?

    Hello, excellent video and i appreciate the clear instructions. Im in the process of planning to swap out a knackered engine on my 2003 F4i and the haynes manual states you can't have the bike on paddock stands due to it being linked the to rear suspension. Did you have any issues getting it back in/out because of this?

    Hey, I noticed on your vacuum hose that you have the fuel pressure regulator one coming from the 5 way splitter. Mine comes from the 3 way splitter. The one from my 5 way splitter goes to the map sensor. I checked the manual and that is correct. So my question is.. does your bike run okay with it hooked up like that?

    • @jeffhumes
      @jeffhumes  3 місяці тому +1

      it ran fine up until I sold the bike. but you should always go with what the manual states! thanks for watching!

    I found a f4i 2006 with 78k km did she worth buying it or not ?

    • @jeffhumes
      @jeffhumes  Рік тому

      78k km is quite a bit on an inline 4 engine. If you don't mind me asking, what is the condition of the bike and what is the price? are you looking to rebuild it or are you looking for something that you can just jump on and have it be reliable?
      What also counts a lot is how well the bike has been maintained...

    Gud day sir, i have a 2005 f4i, i have a problem re the engine. It vibrates too much. My hands are numb whenever i ride. Even at 90kph only. What could be the problem sir. Tia sir.

    • @jeffhumes
      @jeffhumes  Рік тому

      Need a bit more information:
      1. does the bike idle well? Or is it shaking at idle?
      2. at what point does the vibration start? is it vibrating at idle? does it only start when you are moving?

    • @danmascarenas4719
      @danmascarenas4719 Рік тому

      I had a fellow rider reved the engine at idle and he said it vibrates. Though i usually notice engine vibration when i ride. Even at 90kph my hands are numb already.

    • @jeffhumes
      @jeffhumes  Рік тому +1

      @@danmascarenas4719 There are a few things that can cause vibration at speed: bad fuel, fouled plugs, valves adjusted improperly are some of them... I would probably start with checking the valve clearances and resolving any issues there first
