I love the video and props for your kid skiing this line without hesitation. Some friendly advice - these types of lines need to be skied one at a time and you should not be skiing on above your kid. They are narrow lines and if someone falls, they will take out everyone below unless you ski from safe place to safe place. In addition, the week you skied this line was also the same week Paranoids 1-4 ripped out by an Avalanche and this is the same elevation and aspect and is another reason to ski one at a time. Don't mean to be negative, as you guys did great and skied some great lines and in great snow conditions. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you for your great advice, Jeff! I completely agree with you. In fact, my kid skiing below reminded me to wait up there until he finished. Yep, it was an incredible snow week and the ski patrol finally opened the upper mountain after the record storms but there were still avalanche traces everywhere. We love come back skiing to Mammoth next season.
Exactly. I was running away if it slides while taking GoPro and iPhone videos. It was a little surprising that ski patrol opened the slope after performing the avalanche control.
If you can't ski it properly you are wasting the run. Such great snow condition and you are side slipping pushing down the fresh pow. Also you are standing at all the wrong spots. You could have buried your son with your sluff. Wait for him to go further down and out of the avalanche path before you go down. Although I must say it is always great to challenge yourself and is the only way to improve. Hopefully next time you will be charging at it
I love that your boys are kicking your ass in every video. You must be ver proud. You probably should have not been right above you boy on that slide terrain. have to go one at a time in places like that. Your boys are handling the terrain like champs.
Exactly. Actually the kid at the bottom insisted me not to move (saying so in Japanese in the video). I didn't have to tell him anything but he knew what he had to.
Maybe if I knew what he was saying I'd think differently about this video. But from what I am just seeing visually - this guy had no business tackling Philippe's.
I am not sure I would have let my kids do that run. If they fall 1000’ it won’t turn out well. Walking with a limp for the rest of their lives could be an outcome.
Your son is vertically adept. Talent. Sweet POV.

Definitely one of the steepest runs I've ever been on!
Yes, indeed it was one of the steepest runs for us as well. Kids were so excited, though.
Sketchy run... and I'm guessing a lot of swearing in Japanese on top of that ridge :) Nice job to you and the boys!
Thanks! Yes, I'm proud of my boys. That's right. It's Japanese.
He isn't swearing at all in any of these videos. Just a lot of "what is this? That's a rock... wait a minute, Keita went over there...."
Amazing year that was....
He said Do Mai... 😅
Great run but 10:00 is a bad place to stand right under that ledge with the angle of the slope.

i stumbled across your content and I'm absolutely loving it! great terrain, great footage. really fun to see your family tear up tahoe
Thanks, David.
It’s mammoth mountain, but I agree with everything you said!
Now I know how to say holy f*ck in Japanese!😂 The kid's got a pair on him!
badass run , great kid . keep having fun skiing sir
Excellent video sir.
Nice line! That traverse at the top is downright frightening!
Yep. It was early season condition still and so we were figuring out the entry down to Philippe's.
Ну, вы даете!!!
Kid: Let's go over here Dad it'll be fun!
5 minutes later....
Dad: You're grounded! LOL
すごい!みんなよく頑張ったもんだよ!
Should of given the kid the cam instead.
I think so and in fact I gave it to the elder one at the last day of the trip but he instantly broke it (in the other video). lol
Looks like a wonderful day🎉

Dad of the year award! Just don't show that to your wife. 🤫
She saw it and freaked out but kids insisted her that it was the most exciting ever.

Ski is a risky sports so you have to know your skill when going out of the slopes but it is very rewarding.
this is not skiing it call side slipping fucking up the run for the rest but kid did ok should not been there bad dad it is a fun run
