About 7-8 years ago I had a miserable job and worked terrible hrs. On my way home (at night) which was about 30 mins long I would listen to the original soundtrack. Most of it was highway so it wasn’t that bad. When I got closer to my exit I would play this track and try to time my exit of the highway with Luke destroying the Death Star. Sometimes I would make it sometimes I wouldn’t. It was like I was trying to escape the beam of the Death Star or narrowly escaping the explosion of the Death Star by exiting the highway just in the nick of time. The ride home was dark and my hometown was pretty dark as well so I would really get into it, as if I was actually piloting an X-Wing. I was going through a really difficult time in my life and those 8-9 mins really really made a difference. Thank you John Williams and George Lucas.

@@A65Driver I've heard that while A New Hope was amazing, Empire Strikes Back was in theatres for several years after release. Like theatres would routinely reshow it because it was just that good. Man...I would have killed to see the originals in theatres, but I wasn't born yet (1993). I was born in time to see the prequels though and while I know a lot of Star Wars fans hate them, I actually love the prequels. Maybe because I grew up with it...that and The Phantom Menace was game changing in terms of sound design.
I saw it in 1977. It was life-changing.

Most Iconic Fight Scene Ever
Dang this brings back memories of watching on laserdisc on a 32" TV in the 1990's. The shadows and picture were amazing on that combo. I'm sorry but DVD never looked as good when I bought the DVD version. And tube TV's were incredible for contrast and shadows. Watching this version on 4k qled brings back that same feeling. I remember watching Indiana Jones on laser disc and a small 19" tube TV. I kid you knot it almost looked 3D, and the shadows were mind blowing, even back then in the 1990's it made the temple set look totally like a stage it was so clean and detailed. Even now watching Indiana Jones on just regular bluray on a big LED doesn't match it (although it's more enjoyable and still looks amazing on a big TV). I think the end all be all is going to be Micro LED TV's and 4k HDR (or maybe 8k). Everything else just feels like it's doing awesome but not the final end game. Come on bring those Micro LED TV's to the masses Samsung.
nice to meet someone who understands facts and logic rather than industry BS I PREFERED RE4 GC AND WII ON CRT at 480p with component lead. than any of the hd lcd era 4k etc versions it looked so deep 3d and contrast was amazing colors art direction really popped. its weird how you watch things now and are sure it looked better back then WAY BETTER under the right conditions. i watched the rocky movies on laserdisc with a Sony Trinitron tv and hi fi speakers at a friends house amazing.... a good crt looks 4k at 720p easy

I watched TOS faithfully in it's original airing in the 1960s, and many times in the years since. I do enjoy all on the incarnations of Star Trek BEFORE the reboot in 2005. From what I've seen of that (not much), it isn't any better than Star Wars and I'll pass.
@@Vector_Ze Well, to each their own. I do think you missed something spectracular by not seeing SW is the theater when it came out. It was defintely on an entirly different level than anything that proceeded it. Watching years later on a televsion after being jaded by all of the high-quality movies that it spawned would reduce its impact somewhat; like seeing 2001 on TV is a little different than seeing it in 70mm Super Panavision.
TOS is by far my fovorite, TNG was a mixed bag and I never really got into DS9 or Voyager. I did enjoy Enterprise despite some of the historical rewriting that allowed the crew to be at the center of everything.
Now...."Babylon 5" is a great sci-fi series.

Had to give it a dislike for the flashing color at the end. Why would you do that? I'm testing a 1600nit HDR display, and you flash bright colors after 3.5 min primarily dark video?

It is supposed my smartphone has the capability and is turned on and my buds are supposed to be super, but I think this isn't true.
You can tell they added a subtle teal orange color grading to it. Not the best look for this film. Storm Troopers have a hint of yellow and shadows have a hint of blue/teal. Should have kept it flat.

I'm not normally a fan of cgi cos it looks too shiny ,perfect. But the damage and detail on that X wing as it passes was sublime.
It's not all CGI. They still retained many of the model shots from the original version.

It has that "soap opera" effect giving it a "through the window" clarity and reality, which I actually like, and makes it look more like a stage play than a movie.
No it doesn't. The "soap opera effect" looks like someone shot something on videotape, this looks like a high resolution film transfer.
no it makes it look worse as the 70s effects and stage is to easily seen and breaks the immersion instead of a edic movie it looks like a much of dudes goofing around
I strongly recommend you cut the flicking scene in the end out and re-up this precious contents.

This is all very clever and all but I can't help but feel something is lost making it 4K. You'd think it would be amazing to see original Star Wars in UHD but for me it's lost some atmosphere. Just because you can doesn't mean you should...

Star Wars was shot in Kodak 35mm film, which is roughly equivalent to 4K quality. Just because it took a massive hit in quality when it was released to VHS doesn’t mean that it was intended to be seen in low quality.

In typical military formations a Wing of aircrafts is made up of several squadrons (at least 10) and squadrons can vary from 8-12 aircrafts.
So when the leader asked for the wings to report in, I'm guessing that it's the wing leaders are the ones doing the talking. Also since each Wing may typically be at least 100 air/spacecrafts and 7 people reported in, then the Rebellion's attacking force should be around 700 combat spacecrafts.
But in the end we see the scene where an imperial officer reports to Darth Vader that it's just 30 crafts attacking.
It would have been really cool to have full numbers though.

@@4KClipsAndTrailers Also when you check out real sizes and distances, the Death Star was 120 km in diameter (80 miles) so that would translate to several thousand square miles of surface area. So even if the unshielded vent area was visible from the surface, then 30 attacking ships would barely do any damage to such a huge station, though 700 ships would really plow it up a bit.
Oh and btw, space (and other realms) battles are for real and are going on constantly. The planet Mars is a wasteland for several reasons and what is called the Asteroid belt was once a planet that was destroyed. The Almighty has many of his messengers and guardians here on Earth and they are collectively called Angels. They do appear as men and as per Star Trek, they have a sort of Prime Directive: Do not appear to the humans in the glorified natural body, as you will scare them badly.
So I just mentioned a few tidbits to say Yes, Star Wars is for Real.
There is much much more I could share, but I'll leave it at that.

The death star's diameter of 120 Km should easily have thousands of fighters to defend it. But hey, its a movie and the good guys MUST WIN, but keeps the odds at a reasonable rate. Thousands of Tie Fighters would have been overkill.
It's kind of difficult to take as an authority a person who doesn't know that the plural of "aircraft" is "aircraft", not "aircrafts". Getting basics like that wrong just makes you look stupid.
It was more a strategic attack than a mass attack. Most of the Rebels were killed at Scariff.

What's the point of having the flashing at the end of the clip? What purpose did that serve for the showing of this clip? The flashing was the only reason you have to put a "possible seizure" warning on your opening statement so why even have it?

How did the tracking beam pull the Falcon in to where they had to shut down and needed it disabled to take off again but yet it has no effects on the X Wings.
I'm guessing they don't have enough tracking beams to get all of the X wings. And if you pull an Xwing in it will just shoot straight toward the tracking beam and everyone on the station it's pulling it toward.
