Thanks for uploading this. I was at this race with my Dad. It was a very memorable day. We saw Darrell Waltrip run his last Southern 500. We saw a good drunken fist fight after the first rain delay. Pit crews entertained the fans with makeshift slip n slides. The racing was outstanding. We got soaking wet walking back to the bus. Following 2/18/01, I looked back at our rainy Labor Day weekend and I took comfort in saying we saw Earnhardt race at Darlington.
Thank you for uploading races like this from the 2000 season. I miss races like this, especially since ESPN did a really good job with the coverage. It makes me remember the good times in Nascar
@@TracksideViews okay, well now they need to get rid of stages, the chase, front splitters, and progressive banking and they'll finally be able to get back to real racing.
NASCAR used to be about racing and not entertainment. No reason to penalize the rest of the field because of someone else's mistake/bad luck. Nowadays they're addicted to throwing cautions to add more commercials and "exciting" restarts after many laps of nothing.
THAT WASN'T LUCK BY ANY MEANS. BOBBY WAS RUNNIN WAY BETTER THEN DALE WAS BY FARR PLUS BOBBYS STRATEGY WAS MUCH SMARTER THEN ANYBODY ELSES AS WELL. AS A RESULT OF BOBBYS SUPERIOR EFFORTS BOBBY BEAT OUT DALE EARNHARDT AT THE END OF THE SEASON BY 365 POINTS THAT TOO BIG A DEFICIT TO BE CALLED LUCK BY A LARGE MARGIN BESIDES BOBBY HAD THE CHAMPIONSHIP LOCKED A MONTH BEFORE THE SEASON ENDED ANYWAY

I know it's kind of off topic but do anyone know a good place to watch new series online ?
@Khari Kyle I would suggest flixzone. You can find it on google :)
I’m a big Bobby Labonte fan, but that had to be the luckiest win ever.
Led only 10 laps of the 328 that ended up being completed, with not a single one of them being under green-flag conditions. 20 years ago today.
I am surprised no one decided to stay out on that last caution and go for it, odd
A wins a win 🤷🏻♀️
Last ever Labor Day Southern 500 to be televised on ESPN.
That’s why Darlington had lights starting in 2004
My favorite driver since I was 5..Epic
At 3:17:20 you can see that Elliott Sandler's RV driver actually won the race and beat the 18 to the finish line.
Sandler?
What a crazy day in Darlington. Dave Marcis chose violence that day. Anyone could have decided to stay out on that last caution and won the race.
Darlington should have 2 races and they should bring back rockingham and make it have 2 races.
Well guess what! Darlington will have 2 races again.

thanks for all the videos! really love them
Then skies opened up in a monsoon.
Before they installed lights four years later.
Before this date moved to Southern California.
finally we got to see the finish
Did Not Qualify: 9-Stacy Compton-R.
Withdrew: 13-Robby Gordon.
Darrell Waltrip's 800th career start
In 1992, this same event also proved to be his 84th and final career victory. Interestingly, that race was also cut short by rain.
Woo! The finish at last.
1:15:00 Pretty amazed how that wasn't a caution.

Yeah... I'll trade ya something for the finish.
Michael McIntyre This race was red flagged because of a power outage and severe weather caused this race to finish at 1:50am.
You da real MVP!!!
2:20:53
2:26:40
1st caution : 4:54
2nd caution: 18:30

It was 4 sure luck
@@JJA1987 not at all. Pure dominance and consistency. 365 points is not luck hahahahahahahahahhahahah
Earnhardt won 7 championships and he was 49 years old. Whats your point?
