@@stevenrohauer1830 , he had the 1.5 track setup. He would have definitely been in the mix. Crazy to know things would be so much different if he was still around
Turn 4 in 2000. My buddy Shawn passed out on lap 17. Never forget it. Cops were cool and let us carry him to the car! They didn't even wanna mess with it,,hahaha. I live nine mile from BMS. Miss the days when it was sold out and packed campgrounds. Campers are what makes for part of the experience.
1:55:25 EXCELLENT job by the safety crew👍! The response time was very very quick! Too bad all safety crews aren't that efficient, especially at America's short tracks : (
Is it just me or does it seem like the normal broadcast team back then of Bob Jenkins, Benny Parsons & Ned Jarrett (probably under order from ESPN or NASCAR) to not place "blame" on any1 during wrecks? They just say they got together or made contact. Does any1 agree with me or feel different?
I had 10 season tix at Bristol for 20 years......Hard to believe after Earnhardt was killed 6 months after this race i gave them up...I miss the old days.
1:46:51 Rookie Dale Jr. was getting schooled hard by the vets in the late going. But that bump by DJ shook his confidence and he allowed the lap car of Bobby Hamilton to get on his inside. It was a wrap from there as the rest took advantage of his inexperience and panic to try and get back on the bottom. He couldn't stop running into people lol and the Jerry Benny and Ned was laughing at him knew it too 😭 LMAO 😂 Great times since NASCAR 2000 was literally my first full season watching it. I got into it Vegas 2000.
Junior admits it was learning experience for him that year even when Darrell spun him at Martinsville, but he got better at the short tracks by the next year and so on
Dale Sr went down swinging with an awesome year in 2000. I’m proud of the ol’ boy for that
He was gonna get #8 in 01 them cars were set up harvick had a crazy year as a rookie dale was gonna win another cup
@@stevenrohauer1830 source?
Dale would have gotten number 8 in 01 or 02
I'm proud of 23 old me being able to handle being around 160,000 people.

Rusty Wallace was the man on short tracks!! Miss him racing...
Rusty,DW and Big E was the guys to beat at Bristol/Martinsville
Dr. Jerry Punch and the ESPN crew is awesome
Yup
I was at this race. It was my first time watching the Cup series in person.
It was also my first cup race. I was 2 rows up just past the start/finish line.
I imagine the traffic jam in and out had to be a nightmare.
I tried for many years to get tickets to Bristol. it was impossible. I think they give them away now.
nobody asked
Ur mom asked me for tickets
Really miss that 3 car
19:44 “Battle for third spot. Tony Stewart. Battle of the Hammers and Saws!”
I miss seeing that logo at 0:28
43:56 the ESPN sound just makes this more nostalgic
Always fun seeing Dave Marcis make a race this late in his career!

I had this race on VHS as a kid.
My dad has the whole season. My God Father has all the 1:64’s from this season. And I just put that all together today. (I’m 25)

Suites are quite nice as well. Suite hopping used to be a thing as well. No one frowned upon it. Now........
“Jeff Gordon has so many fender benders here his insurance dropped him” 😂😂😂
i like when hulkster gets pissed off and goes like dont hit me anymore but the bad guy always does then its look out time !

I think that's more personality than anything else.
TYVM for upload! Much better quality than BigTNASCARs 👍 & he doesn't allow comments. 🏁🏆👍 much appreciated 💗

My first ever race. I was in 3rd grade.
The final start for Bobby Hillin Jr.

Does any1 know why Bob Jenkins wasn't in the booth for this broadcast??
He was probably doing an IRL race that weekend.
@@O5fan You'd be correct. He was commentating on the IRL race at Kentucky the following day.
i'm pretty sure he retired from nascar broadcasting that year
What a strange name for this race. Sandwiched between Goody's 500/Sharpie 500 was........... a website
Ward Burton was such a crappy driver haha. Good to see that #2 win another at Bristol!
Your opinion is as well
