Apologies for the late response. Totally a sign of an alignment issue. I used to sit behind the bike on the ground and pull the wheel back so that there was some tension on the chain (not too much like 90% tight) and then inspect the distance of the wheel to the frame. If it is even on both sides, I would give it a spin and see if there was any break rub. Once it’s all sounding clean, tighten it up to 90Nm on your torque and ride safe!
@@scallywaggedYo! I’m sorry, I don’t know how I missed your comment. I hope by now you’ve got the tire back on! I feel you tho! Towards the end of the replacement the tire really fights you, but if you heat it up with a hair dryer or some sunshine , it slides right on the rim.

Thanks bro! I have the Shinko 241’s 17x2.75 on now, they are quite an upgrade from the DRT’s. As for the fender, I bought a cheap 17” one of treatland.Com , cut it up, grinder it down , and pounded its shape out. So there’s not really a link to it, but once I was done I used magnetic bolts to attach it to the front spacer. The shocks I also got from treatland, but they are frequently out of stock. ik its just changing a tube but just watching how unnecessarily complicated this is makes me glad i decided not to get an onyx lmfao like why cant you just simply disconnect the motor cable like a lot of other ebikes
Yeah, that would be super helpful. But all that would really change is where I put the wheel when changing the tube. So as long as my stand can be next to my bike, in my eyes, not a deal breaker. This bike is amazing and worth any effort on my part to keep it running smoothly.
I didnt mean to hate on the onyx. Lol i was actually planning on getting one at first but I decided to get a sur ron instead. Onyx is very nice though and a bit faster. 👌🏼

Thank you for this video. I am curretly doing my rear tire, got a nail through. This was very useful and was able to do it with success.

Gonna attempt to repair my rear tire on my onyx… where can I find the bike stand you’re using in the video to help prop the bike up?

Is that motor cable super sensitive? I have a flat and have to new tube in but I’m nervous about the motor cable. Thoughts?
What’s the recommended torque specs for the rear bolts? Thanks!!
90 Nm was what the manual said, and that worked for me. Anything less and the wheel would slide around.
You made this look 27x easier than it was, getting that tire back on was a fucking bitch lol… thanks for the video!
I feel ya, summer changes go a lot smoother than winter. The warm soft rubber really makes a difference!
Did a swap the other evening, and used a hair dryer to soften up the new tire. Worked like a charm!
I can't manage to get mine back on. Did you also use metal tire irons? I'm scared of damaging my rim

Sooo... there is no disconnecting the motor cable from the bike? That's extremely inconvenient for repairs.
Agreed it’s not convenient, but as long as the changing stand is moveable, it’s not really an issue.
