To clean the tank after all your hoki poki and turn around add some citric powder, lots of it, and warm water to the top of the tank and let sit a couple of days. Drain and rinse. Repeat until the rust is gone. Rinse and fill with your gas/oil mixture and you are ready to draw from the tank. Ya might replace that old rusty fuel line while your at it.
I applaud your plans for this bike, it's what your channel should have always been. A suggestion for you would be to start off with "not bad for a $200 bike." When it rolled in, then keep increasing the value as you make improvements. When it kicked "Not bad for a $300 bike" etc. The through line with the episode should be about the value added. How small changes can bring big profit when flipping. You should also touch up those rivets with white paint so they disappear, and try melting white zipties with a soldering gun to stop the cracked part from flopping around.
That’s AWESOME ! I had an old yellow 1978 MX100! That lil thing actually had some pep in it lol! Once I cleaned the carb it was throwing rooster tails when it hit power band lol! I bought it at Spring Carlisle and Pennsylvania and drove it all around that day and then back to the campground about a mile and a half away!
Nice Dirtbike! Glad you got it running. My great grandfather has one of the first yamahas released, and I’m glad your happy with the youtube job, as long with the academy! I hope your doing well in the academy as well. God bless.
My 2nd dirt bike! Mine was probably a 74 or so? Yellow. Had lots of fun on that thing. Had the auto premix. everybody deleted that and just used premix. Bad about burning pistons if you ran them wide open on the road for a couple of miles. But we were not allowed on the road. In theory.....
My first dirt bike of many was a 1980 Yamaha DT175. I literally would push it a few miles to the track to ride it on a mx track and pushed it home before I had a drivers license. Kids today are too lazy to walk 3 blocks let alone push a dirt bike 6mi round trip
Excellent video Jay :) also for dirt bike under $500.00 in 20 years or older in good condition not bad buy for sure also front fender use grilloa glue fix up nice too ! Welcome back to You Tube videos again and yummy ribs too eat Lol!
In all of my years of tinkering on these old machines, why is it that 97.3% of them are missing the entire air box. 3.7% of them actually have most of the air box (the top lid or side door is missing and the filter element is nowhere to be found?
Got given one of these by a mate in the early 2000s i give it a going over and a rear tyre it was great fun that summer i traded it for a cr 125 that only needed a rear cog and a clutch cable as a winter project Great content mate and a bit hiya from acrost the pond .
Well got to this video when it was 4 minutes fresh. I miss my 70s dirt bike. As for the chainsaw, nit as much of a need as something nice to have hanging around.
Back in the day I had a bike just like that. I used to terrorize the farm fields of South Central Wisconsin with it until my dad removed the shifter so I couldn’t use it.😂 This brings back memories
The legend has returned 🤘🇺🇲
Interesting to see you here
Haha, good times!
Indeed he has. Indeed he has.
Academy? Does this mean the Law Enforcement job is a reality?👍
Continued Success with the Academy, Till next time my Friend. 👍
Don't get caught by the cops with that thing on the road!! Oh shit, you are a cop. 😃
Throw a siren on it and he's good, undercover cop!
@@rawr51919 I think that old MX 100 tops out at about 55, the kid would never catch up with anybody. 🚨🚨🚨
😂🤣😂
😂🤣😂
Cool project,John! Hope it's going well at the academy!

I thought you were going to Golden Bust a Nut trying to get the gas cap off.

Awesome to see for 200 bucks didn't take much to get it running and driving
Love it nice bike!!! it's like a bmx with 100cc motor. I have put many hours and seen a lot of trails with that bike.
Since you're in the academy, just wear a fake mustache and a mullet wig for the channel
You know a smoker can be turned into a shop heater pretty easily...
In Wisconsin, we have both Farm & Fleet and Fleet Farm, so you have to specify very clearly where you’re going.

Omg on how bad the gas tank is it gelled and still had gad in it also yikes @Golden Rust Or Bust
Nuts in the tank to clean not rocks, rocks will break up and make it worse.

Put some nuts in the tank and jack ur truck up and strap it to the wheel and put truck in gear so the tire turns slow and let it go till tank is clean
Bro... another winner. I look so forward to your channel in my notifications. Being a bike guy, I especially enjoyed this one.
Hi John from west Alabama love ua
I'll take it, $500.. love those bikes
Best tasting ribs is 20 hours on the smoker there so soft and tender
Congrats on the Cop job !
As Sgt. Phil Esterhaus would say, "Let's be careful out there."
I would buy it if I lived in Iowa
Them ribs look Delicious

Old version of the RT100. Meh. Yamaha sucks! Lol
Your culinary skills made me hungry, enjoyed some chicken wings while watching! Lol
I had a mx 100 in 1985 loved it lots of fun. Pretty doggie. Nice video thanks for the upload
Love the Hippodrome hoodie you're rockin'! Played countless tournaments there as a kid. Keep up the great work, brother.
Excellent video Jay :) also for dirt bike under $500.00 in 20 years or older in good condition not bad buy for sure also front fender use grilloa glue fix up nice too ! Welcome back to You Tube videos again and yummy ribs too eat Lol!
Great $200 toy. That fender looks like it needs some duct tape - it'll fix'er right up.
Noticed you with Kevin, you´re a legend John, thanks.
Nice bike I had one but it was a 1968 harley davidson 125 dirt bike it was street legal with turn lights .I wish had it now.
Still no mullet or mustache....
Why you no understand!?
I have a 1974 yamaha mx100 that I race! The are pretty fun little bikes!
In all of my years of tinkering on these old machines, why is it that 97.3% of them are missing the entire air box. 3.7% of them actually have most of the air box (the top lid or side door is missing and the filter element is nowhere to be found?
I bought one of these in 1979 new, for about $700 with paper route money. It was a fun bike.
Got given one of these by a mate in the early 2000s i give it a going over and a rear tyre it was great fun that summer i traded it for a cr 125 that only needed a rear cog and a clutch cable as a winter project
Great content mate and a bit hiya from acrost the pond .
Should try plastic welding that fender.
Pretty neat; never rode one of these! Got a 79 IT 175 and IT250…both are fun bikes to ride!
What a great little bike. Sadly it's so diminutive I could accommodate most of it in my butt crack!
Omg. I got that bike for Christmas 1979! Love this!
i just wanna say i love your wiilly nillyness, good luck at copper school an dont change ya shit coz you rock an thanks for your time!
Well got to this video when it was 4 minutes fresh. I miss my 70s dirt bike. As for the chainsaw, nit as much of a need as something nice to have hanging around.
You could wire stitch that fender… done it a couple times on ATV plastic fenders.
Question for the garage, suggestions for my first motorcycle?
Baking soda and vinegar will clean that tank just wait for the bubbles to stop and dump it out
dirtbikes, beers and a smoker going, i wanna party with this guy. lol
white vinegar and a handful of sheetrock screws. Then shake, soak, rinse.
about time your back been waiting been waiting for your new video
Im to broke for any but i can give u $200 for the dirt bike and have it shipped over to n.c
This is not a snowmobile. Who are you and what have you done with John?
Love it :-). And a bonus Rib recipe. Perfect :-)
Great revival! Cant wait to see more.
Put lots of nuts bolts and washers in the tank and strap it to the wheel of your truck car or riding mower.
Back in the day I had a bike just like that. I used to terrorize the farm fields of South Central Wisconsin with it until my dad removed the shifter so I couldn’t use it.😂 This brings back memories
Hell ya more golden butt crust! lol I love how u said that in a previous video
I am glad you started a channel! awesome bike!
Love a your videos john
Just got passed down one of these that's been sitting in a barn for god knows how Long. Super exited to restore it
About time!!!! I was wondering when you were going to do another one!
Cut the police. fund housing instead.
Fill that tank with plain old white vinegar and let it set for awhile. Cleans it right out
I’m starting to think he’s Australian
Love to buy that dirt bike from you but you live to far away from me
Looks like you need one more rivet in the fender but it’s sounding good
