The 70 Roadrunner is my favorite. I had a blue one when I was younger. 383 air grabber hood. Man I would give anything to have that car again. Nothing is nicer than a 70 Roadrunner in your driveway. I must say, that white looks nice on that Roadrunner. Well done.

I'm watching from down under Mark and you've got me hooked. Sometimes I'll swear that you have completely lost it but I know that it's just you. Your MOPAR knowledge is just amazing. I deal on a weekly basis with approximately 120 workshops in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and only one works on the cars we love. It frustrates me that GM and Ford prevail here but we know better don't we.

This Roadrunner isn't even my car, and it had me in tears. Why? Because I was forced to sell my Six Pack Superbird (in Alpine white, of course) because of a divorce decades ago. I never saw or heard from it again. All I know is that a police officer from Utah is the one who bought it.
Even after all these years, it still hurts to think about it.

My grandfather and father are Mopar men and so am I. There’s just something about Mopars that hit different than other car manufacturers. Dragstrip might is part of the feel and the colors and personality are huge parts of the magic that Mopars have. Anyone who has hung around drag strips know that a Mopar sounds different than any other make. Fellow Mopar fanatics are another part of what sets Mopar brotherhood apart from other makes. Mopars are just plain magic. Mopar or no car.

I swear I had one or I should say redid the whole car back in 91 looked EXACTLY like that mine was a 440 4 speed built up it ran 11.80 all day long. Bought it in a barn just outside of Westminster Md had it a few years after I put a fortune in it then traded it for a mint 70 RT Charger 6 pack 4 speed was yellow with the factory black stripes. Man I miss that Roadrunner.

Me too, I think they look good on any 60s or 70s muscle car, I'm kinda indifferent about how they look on an 80s vehicle which I have ATM. If in the future I go back in years the first thing I'm doing is Cragar's, I'm not buying new ones. Gotta find an older USA made set or I'm not doing it, no overseas made wheels on an American muscle car.

Growing up my Uncle had a 68 Dodge Charger SE, Dark Green Poly, Black Vinyl Roof, White Interior Bucket Front Seats, Console Shift Automatic, Am/FM Radio, AC, Had a 318, 727, 8 ¾, 3.23:1 Rear End, Both Chrome Mirrors drivers was Remote, Hood Mounted Turn Signals, the Brakes was odd as it was a late production had the 69 front Brakes with the 68 Rear Brakes which we would out on a vacation in the mountains when the front brakes went out, It had the Steel Wheels with the Large Caps, Even though it was a 318 it was one of the most beautiful Chargers. He's getting up in age now former Diesel Mechanic and has had a ton of health issues, how ever if I ever could do it I'd love to be able someday to get him one as identical to what he had. I know he would be tearing as much if not more if he had another one. I found a Die Cast similar to it few years ago except it had the Magnum Wheels but he was in tears. He's got a few Photos of it when I was a kid standing next to it. The only thing id do different would be either the Magnum's or Rallye's on it and even though not availalbe id go with a 340 in it just so it would move down the road.
Thanks for such a great show and love seeing these kind of Episodes.

I was never a big Mopar fan. Back in the ‘70s, Chrysler products were considered as cheaply made and seemed rather junky. Nowadays, people spend big money to “restore” them. Yes, a good “restoration” is expensive but the build quality is usually better than from the factory . I appreciate seeing these cars as they were meant to be.

During the test drive, I assume it’s his son in the backseat. He seems very unInterested and on his phone. Typical of the kids today. My son is a rare breed, he’d be all over that car, and his chin will be glued to the front seat, waiting for his turn to drive.

I owned *I think as a1972 Challenger that was as gold color paint, white leather interior. *forgive, me , it's been a few years. It was the 383 engine model. And, I was taking notice, as to recent builds, even as some rather more historical pictures. I don't see that color. I just remember liking the interior seat design and the horseshoe shifter with detent center and below.
I recall huge caution when it snowed, as it was so powerful it was all to easy to break traction and tail slide a bit sideways. It had many design features as the "cuda".

  • @monmixer

Part of the reason those heavy cars were so cool is they hold the road due to weight. Some good proper tires with a bit of width and they are great for road racing. I could fly on dirt back roads in cars I owned back in the 70's and 80's. Even into the 90's you could still find nice used ones. I was a Mopar guy. I destroyed my bas ass Mopar. It was a dodge Coronet with a Hemi in it factory stock. 66 . It was a sleeper by looks but stick your foot it and it was gone. Too much for as I did total flying and pushing it. I totaled. The engine was saved. I do not have either anymore.

Mark is an awesome guy truly. What caught my attention though is he said they put a tremec 6 speed that's been modified to fit into a b body mopar. Does that mean that there is a bolt in 6 speed for 66-70 b bodies from SST? Is it the T56?

I wish Mark would understand that there is no rivalry between muscle car brands. My first car was a 1966 Impala and my second car was a 1967 Barracuda fastback. It’s off putting when he talks high school nonsense like he was a picked on geek. I love the cars they build and I love all of the trivia. Mark needs to stop being “that guy” and turning away an entire audience over brand nonsense. Mark could leave his stamp on the Mopar brand with a lifetime achievement if he would grow up and rise to the occasion.
