Hi! Maybe you could show how to setup trakstar with dslr or camcorder. Do you just plug n play or any special setting in the camera? Is this comparable to boya mic in its price range?
We use three Canon EOS Ms for our live show. They rock! Great for streaming and recording. We probably need to get a new zoom lens. Still very happy. Camera plus lens was around $300. It's a significant upgrade from our Canon Vixia 800.
Today Sept 15, 2020 I´ve been accepted in the YT Monetization Program. I want to express my complete gratitute to you and collaborators. I had the idea, i was afraid, but you helped me to record my first video, create my thumbnails, I have paid close attention to your advice and now UA-cam has accepted me to be able to grow! I highly appreciate your kindness, support to people all over the world. Gracias! Mil gracias Sean.
I just upgraded to the Canon M50, I have been using it for a week, and really love all the functions already, what I will invest in next, is some lightning for home vlogging.
Excellent video. I've shot for the past three years, over 500 videos, on a cell phone. Looking to move up to cameras and glass now and step up my production quality. My phone (Samsung Note 9) was $1200 bucks LOL, I could have bought this camera all day long. :-)
I'm a new UA-camr and i learned a lot fram think media. Every time i have something that i want to know about editing videos i always look in think media. Thank you so much for making this channel. More blessing to come in this channel.
What’s been holding me back from getting into making videos was the thought that the equipment would be too complicated and expensive. Your video was the first I watched about cameras. I sure feel dumb. You made is simple as you answered all my questions. No more fears, Im buying a camera today. I’ve subscribed to your channel and feel confident that I’ll create some great videos! Thanks for simplifying things!
I often find myself saying "Gosh, he's so lovely". I'm just so grateful you've dedicated your life to helping us get further ahead. I've learned so much from you Sean, and all of the team in fact.
I see a lot of negative comments on the price of the camera you showcased but I heard you clearly say that you shouldn't let a lack of gear hold you back. I really liked your idea of using books against a window, using sunlight as your lighting. Your video showed how I could start wtih just the camera I have but also showed me what I could hope to buy in the future. Thanks!
The Canon PowerShot SX530 HS is $280 on Amazon. Everyone says it's great for videos. Only problem is audio quality, you'd have to record live through an external microphone.
I mean, use whatever you typed this comment on. Use your phone. No money out of pocket. Use your laptop. Your content may look bad at first but create a side hustle and save up for this. You can even get a used one for cheaper.
I am a beginner but I will save every penny of mine so I can get it ; because I want quality videos. It's all about the results you want. If you don't invest, you'll probably get less views and so on.
People the best camera and set up is the one you TAKE WITH YOU. Make sure it's small enough and light enough for you to be comfortable taking it everywhere. Otherwise you'll miss so much great content. Action cams, smartphones etc are soooooo useful. John
WOW! That cheap and tiny microphone sounds really great! I'm running your audio through a FM broadcast sound processor, it almost sounds like your are talking into a Rode broadcaster or NT1A microphone! Rich in the lows, good in the mids and a nice crisp in the highs! Very good and educational video! Thanks!
just wanted to thank you. you have been very helpful. from gear to motivation but what really stood out was the mention of your volunteer work to your church/ thanks again.
Pay closer attention. It's not necessarily the camera itself he wants you to buy. He's is displaying all the features on the camera you should be looking for and learning to utilize when you buy a cheaper camera.
I will start with my iPhone. I know the value of having a good camera like the Cannon EOS MD 50, but I prefer to learn how than invest in equipment. I can add equipment any time. I like your videos, they are very informative.
iPhone is more than enough for the majority of people; an external mic and a few lights is a much better investment than an expensive DSLR or equivalent… if you already have an iPhone that is.
I don't see what the problem is, you should already have well over a million subscribers. I don't see anyone putting out the quality and easy to follow step by step videos. As usual, liked and shared!
Hey Sean, I'm just starting to do my research and leg work on building up a cooking inspired channel. I have come across your Channel and I am taking notes. I have used UA-cam only to gain information but never to create it. I dig your content and will continue to watch. Just wanted to say "wasup" and start going through the motions of youtube networking, dropping comments, and figuring out this online platform.
I just bought the M50 and the Boya Mic, I'm super excited to finally use a good quality camera with good sound. My videos are going to another level. SO PUMPED!
That’s my first professional camera and I’m in love with it! It’s a good investment you just have to keep consistently using it to get comfortable with it.
My issue is the lens. If it is a variable zoom lens, I highly recommend using a zoom roughly equivalent to a 50mm full frame. A wide lens compresses your face making it look really long and distorted.
You really inspire me at all time from all of your videos on youtube now using your strong ideas teach me how to grow my youtube channel real quick and i thank you sooo much for that
Sean!!! Thank you so much for this video man. This morning I watched your best Cams for youtube vid, then some comparisons vids and a mic vid. Then a few minutes ago you dropped this one at PERFECT timing 🤙🏽 Videos are filled with so much content!!
This really helped me out! I’m new to making UA-cam videos but I’m looking to upgrade & invest in a camera I can grow with. I think I found what I was looking for thanks!
Just getting started. I am reading your book. Taking a class on "Internet Marketing Using UA-cam" and doing a lot of research myself. Excited to get started.
beginners doesnt mean broke. The camera is $599 quite a good value. Perhaps google low budget cameras for beginners. These guys could be talking about some of the 1200-2500 the camera shop guys tried to shove down my throat!
I just got one and started vlogging with it recently. It's way smaller than a full-size DSLR but the quality is generally close, except for dark rooms.
I am about to buy an M50 after lots of research! I've been using my phone with a small microphone, but just don't like the lack of control over settings etc. Not being happy with the quality kind of leaves me to NOT create sometimes, so I'm happy I'm finally going to go pick up a camera today.
What is the best video editing software that I can use to edit my UA-cam videos? Right now I’m just using iMovie and I want to upgrade and find something better, so my videos will come out better, btw I’m already saving for the equipment in this video, great vid man! 👍😁
I don't comment often, but I wanted to thank Think Media for all the knowledge I was able to pick up an old passion of mine and turn it into a business. so thanks for helping me find my peace in life.
Great Advice... I also recommend to have that mini tripod Manfrotto if you nic camera stand to go... Its just great... And you can put a lot of weight on it... About issues Sean I received a shot from YT and my views went up from 50k per month to 150K. But now its dropping and it is around 110k :/ Its hard to stay on that level... I tried yesterday that in-stream ads with my video from Hawaii and We'll see how it works.... But I like see you working hard on those videos... Its motivating....
Hey, I just received this camera and when I plug the mic in there is no sound, did you had to do anything to make it works? My mic is Boya lavalier by m1 of course. Thanks for the reply please!
@@RoamusMikael That mic takes a battery. Did you install that thing first? It also has an off off switch (they call it camera and smartphone or something. I needs to be on camera). As long as the battery is in correctly and the mic is set to camera, it should work. I didn't have any problems with it. Let me know if you get it working.

Sean, I think for what you get it is a good deal. Most professional SLR cameras start around 400 to 500 or so and then you have to factor in accessories i.e. the tripod, lens, external mics if the camera supports it. With this package, you everything that you need with a beginner mode. That feature is cool because it helps novice individuals just starting out get up and running quickly with great results. Great video, keep the content coming!
I've been looking for a decent way to record myself playing the bass in my home office, to songs that are being played through my computer. Having a good audio/video playback is a good way to critique your playing. Sort of like getting away from the forest so you can see the trees. I've tried using a web-cam, but it's built-in mic can't handle the low register of a bass guitar; lots of buzzing and very poor sound quality. Your suggested set-up for UA-cam videos looks like it might work for me. My question is, do you think the audio capabilities of the cannon will do justice to the low tones of a bass guitar playing over music in the background? If this set-up works, I just might start a UA-cam channel myself. Thanks for your input. Brett
Brett Cohen get a Shure SM-57 mic. It’s the workhorse of the music industry. $75 used. It’s a good all around mic for recording or live sound of music, vocals, etc
Hey @JesusLovesBass SHURE is the best way to go. I'd get the SM58 though if you're on a budget...If you buy the cool adapter the SHURE X2U, you can hook your mic up to your PC with a mic cable (only $100). Then you can use Audacity, (free and you have to download LAME to go with it also free). Good luck!
Nichodre After using books, boxes, and tape to "tripod" my phone for shooting, I recently purchased a Fotopro uFO2 which has greatly simplified shooting the various types I do. I have a review on my channel. Like Sean says, it was both inexpensive and good. It is saving me so much time!
Ohh my I shall buy food first though thank you Sean Cannel I learned to use a vlogging camera like Canon now than just a cell phone I appreciate it thank you keep on stay con.
@@xcross20 Maybe look into a Canon T2i? I just bought one on eBay for $165, I'll be reviewing it in a couple weeks, it'll be my first actual camera (and not a smartphone)
I really really need a newer laptop so that I can edit. I do my videos in one take and then upload. Sometimes I spend hours doing it over and over. What is a good laptop that will support a good editing software?
I am a die hard windows guy but the MAC has made my life so much easier. My old laptop would crash from raw 4K drone video or if I tried to green screen. I bought the iMac. I know not a lap top but man it just eats up the footage and asks for more!!!!
Wow! This video, what an awesome way with words and worthy of praise! I've watched it 3 times and already recommended it to a friend! Thanks sooo much! Next up is how to use the osmo 3 mobile I just ordered :)
Nice review for beginners!! Canon system is exactly great for budget! I started shooting videos with Sony a6500. Although the price is almost double to the same level of Canon gears, I still don't regret as a fan of high-quality images.

Good luck!
Beginners just start with your phone!!
would you recommend starting with a good tripod or affordable one?
nichodre I think you can achieve both 👊🏼😎💯
Nichodre After using books, boxes, and tape to "tripod" my phone for shooting, I recently purchased a Fotopro uFO2 which has greatly simplified shooting the various types I do. I have a review on my channel. Like Sean says, it was both inexpensive and good. It is saving me so much time!
Brilliant channel alot of tips/tricks for a new starter
Ohh my I shall buy food first though thank you Sean Cannel I learned to use a vlogging camera like Canon now than just a cell phone I appreciate it thank you keep on stay con.
yall got $1000 + phones, but complain about a $700 cameral that can make you money.
i was looking for tips for a good cheap camera , im broke , i dont have a $1000 phone i wish , i have the samsung galaxy 5 damn i am broke
@@xcross20 Maybe look into a Canon T2i? I just bought one on eBay for $165, I'll be reviewing it in a couple weeks, it'll be my first actual camera (and not a smartphone)
Well if you have an $1,000 phone, you don’t even need a camera. And besides you probably won’t use your camera everyday like your phone.
@@jaxw2628 Exactly. If you have a 1,000 phone you will make money daily.
Why would anyone pay 1000 for a phone? crazy Stop paying for these phones and they will stop charging a fortune.
@Think Media What microphone did you use for this video?
i have lumix fz1000 + boya mic + tripods+filters
i saw ur dslr vs handycam and it really helped me..thanks buddy
Thank you now I no what to gift for my UA-cam videos when I start
I really really need a newer laptop so that I can edit. I do my videos in one take and then upload. Sometimes I spend hours doing it over and over. What is a good laptop that will support a good editing software?
Saving with Stephanie J I really want to know this too.
I am a die hard windows guy but the MAC has made my life so much easier. My old laptop would crash from raw 4K drone video or if I tried to green screen. I bought the iMac. I know not a lap top but man it just eats up the footage and asks for more!!!!
Lol, I have a 2017 Macbook pro 15 touch bar, but don't have a camera with me. I spent all my money on this laptop. But MAC is best for this purpose.
I have a mac to its great
What do y’all think I should spend on a laptop?
The microphone on the camera actually sounds pretty decent I wasn’t much difference between the microphone on the camera
It doesn’t have to break the bank coming in at around $700😂
