Maybe do a story on how private security are trying to take over the role of SAPS? And then include the illegal discharge of firearms among others that there seems to be no recourse on?
Our robber was out on bail to attend a court in another province. After a car crash with a stolen car full of stolen things, and sent an innocent driver to hospital from the crash. The law is pathetic. But try missing a parking ticket!
This is why I haven't left the Western Cape since 2017. I just cannot handle the constant anguish. I live in a suburb of Cape Town and the last break-in in this area was in 2015. I think once people are afraid to walk in the streets, you lose control of your area because there is no visibility of who is going up and down the street. In my area there are always kids playing, people working on their car or gardening etc. so when something is suspicious, the whole community is immediately aware.
I get your view but we don't even know what party the judge who gave them bail supports. Also if any justice system in the world doesn't allow bail for certain crimes, I can accuse you of anything and you will be in jail for 6 months waiting trial before being proven guilty. That's a dangerous way of operating
My friend's super bike was also stolen two months back from the yard in Boksburg (Rand park) and found in Orange farm. It was a costly exercise since the gate motor and etc had to be replaced. although insurance paid ,it is still wrong and has to be put to a stop.
Bikes are frequently used in countries such as Burkina Faso and Mali and it’s not these types of bikes. As surprising as it may sound to you African countries outside of South Africa use cars.
I had R 300,000 worth of quad bikes stolen from me in JHB by these guys and got told by Hollard insurance investigaters that I aranged for the theft of my own bikes. Go figure. I think these people are as criminal as the guys that actually stole them.
Now that they (the criminals) know they should lie low if there is an "H1" in the neighbourhood. OR, do you think the private security company was smart enough to use some misdirection there... and were just _insinuating_ that the vehicle was a Hyundai H1 van?
Four Five Six, am still struggling with the emotional trauma I suffered 40 years ago when I went to play pac-man on the arcade machine at the corner cafe, and walked out to find my bicycle stolen. Feeling sorry for the victims of this steal horse theft.
Interesting to see this, watching in Western Australia where bike theft is massive. Many road bikes are apparently re-birthed in other states, and that is why a police friend would love to see all heavy transports opened and checked at the WA/South Australia border and the Northern Territory, which they currently are not. The traffic is not necessarily all one way as bikes stolen in other states are shipped here for sale, mainly unlicensed dirt/MX bikes. One bike stolen here some years back actually surfaced in New Zealand but was found when an unsuspecting buyer went to get parts for but it had to provide the engine/chassis number to identify the model.
Aparantly a syndicate was bust in Bellville and many stolen bikes and stripped parts are at the Stikland impound. Our neighbourhood watch advised that those missing bikes must contact the impound.
Such organized crime can not only be done by foreigners, there’s probably someone feeding them information on where to look for bikes in the traffic department.
There's a little town called Chokwe in the Gaza Province. Thats where these guys take those stolen bikes, cars and other goods to. I live in Maputo and have seen lots of expensive stolen bikes around.
Happened to me and my next door neighbor the next night. When I went to report it to the police, they even had a specific form for reporting gate motors, because it's so common.
Really disappointed that some suspects got away.... especially the Jetta guys (perhaps call back up next time and box the car in so just like how you did with the red polo)....
South Africa is a crime zone! These people come and in out of homes like they pay rent. Leaving home owner scared because clearly they were being followed!! Scary stuff
Its sad the morning the trailer came out for this episode The Bikeshop Boksburg burned down... This morning one of our friends GSXR was stolen. How can we not catch this guys. Somewhere we have to draw the line. And if you shoot him on your premises you're going to be the one in jail as he did not physically attack you he just took what he wanted... Our bikes sleep in our living room, after my car was stolen I'm not leaving anything to chance
There is a high chance of people who do this: 1. These guys who do back-door Vehicle licenses for people and also Road worthy Tests. Those can be other suspects as people take their vehicles there for quick service and bribe. 2. These operations of license department is mostly Foreigners who go on your "bahalf" and this information can be leaked to syndicates too
Majority steal license disks from the legitimately registered bikes. For example, I used to own a bike, had just renewed the license disk and put on the original copy, the whole disk set up material on the bike was stolen at the mall. So yeah its very real and easy for them to cheap the system.
My delivery type bike was stolen off a Sea Point street in broad daylight and nobody saw a thing??? Walking is not an option so they stole more than my bike.
It's sad to see that private security is now doing the job of our police. In the South Africa of 1994 and before, we had a police force that was effective and kept our communities safe. We need that kind of policing back, but it seems like the government is failing to deliver. Instead, we're relying on private security to fill the gap, which is a stark reminder of the decline of our law enforcement agencies. When will the government take action to restore our police force to its former glory and keep South Africans safe once again?
These are the skills our SAPS needs They need to be trained so they can tackle crime Unfortunately the only training they receive is eat fatcakes and KFC Our country is in trouble I tell you
Thank you to the security guys for trying but frankly they caught nothing, no evidence in their vehicle who was caught and all the rest got away. A few days will pass and they will have new cars and steal more bikes.b
All these guys have passports with them, which means that they are ready to cross the border any time. We have DA in the ministry of home affairs who want to legalise these people at the expense of South Africans.

SAPS work with the criminals
I wish there were private courts and dedicated jails too. The whole Justice value chain...
Too many SAPS get paid off
SAP who?

100% agree with that. Hilux and just leave it

True every department is corrupt they aware nothing will happen to them
I heard a story a while ago that they have informants at the post office feeding the addresses of the bikes they want. ...
No I have private intel that they send a fake buyer coming to a buy a bike as well.
Out on bail for house breaking???Are you kidding me? The Justice system is clearly broken in SA.
😂😂😂😂😂
Former President of another country not in this continent was also out on bail during his trial. Can you call that country broken too?
Out of bail and they r foreigners😮

It's upsetting. These men are incredibly brave but when they do get the criminals, how long will they actually sit?
Not at all as politicians in the syndicates bail them out; Anc failed all South Africans 😢😢😢
What does EFF think about such. We’d be deeper 💩 had they been in power - no private security would have even be allowed
When will you ever blame the ANC for its failures 😂
Shout out to the security company for making sure everything is smooth in these streets.
