As a biased, loyal fan of final fantasy it’s definitely the game of the year for me, it has everything, great story, character’s, gameplay and combat, activities, graphics, boss battles, environments, humour and script, it literally has everything ❤

I agree; it represents the most ideal combat and gameplay system for modern Final Fantasy. I hope they continue to develop combat in a similar style to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Put in 100hrs and enjoyed this game so much. Dont think i will replay it since it took so much of my life. Having 2 jobs and family. But were hours i’ll always remember

Oh it is Newtro. Nearly completed Wu Kong now and it doesn't come close. It's good dumb fun but FF7 Rebirth stayed with me.

It’s definitely the game of the year. I’ve played a bunch of other great games this year but nothing even comes close to this one. My expectations were extremely high going in and they were surpassed in almost every sense. 150 hours to do everything possible in my first playthrough before the final battle. The amount of content, that is consistently high quality and with a combat system this dynamic and well designed (with 9, that’s right 9 playable characters that all feel different, well developed, and fun to play), nothing even comes close to this for me and many people. If it doesn’t win GOTY, I’ll be extremely surprised. The only thing that I think has a chance against it is Metaphor ReFantazio and or maybe Astrobot. Good video. Glad to see you also enjoyed the game.
It's not just a potential GOTY for me (Which DESERVES to win by far) it's one of the bests experiences i've ever had in my life as an OG FF7 Fan. Wukong should not win this over FF7 Rebirth in my opinion. Wukong is an amazing game don't get me wrong, but it mimics many elements of the fromsoftware games that i'm just so tired of these kind of action games to win the award. FF7 Rebirth (and this trilogy as a whole) is a work of love and passion that is so rare to experience in 2024 gaming where every new live service game is being shut down months after release or nobody wants to play them or games that come out broken. FF7 Rebirth is my Game of the Year 2024 and one of the best games i've ever played...
Already got the platinum and all I have to say is, playing this game while studying college and having responsibilities. I have never played another game that immersed me as well and quickly as Rebirth has

Aerith is slow but good? I'm 200 hrs in and got my platinum trophy, trust me she's the ultimate powerhouse and an irreplaceable party member throughout the challenges and almost the whole hard mode playthrough. You're gonna be so blown away when you explore her full potential! In other words game just keeps getting better and better. Definitely GOTY for me.
Easily one of the best gaming experiences in the last 5-10 years.

@@josephhanry3315 he's not the only one, it's universal, not a single mixed or negative review from any outlet. Positive reviews only. I would not start at Rebirth though, at the minimum start with Remake, but ideally both FF7 OG and Crisis Core, then Remake, Rebirth. In that order. It's a worthwhile gaming ride, one of the best in existence if you follow it all through.

Yep, it’s currently mine too. It’s a wonderful game with so much love in it. I get that people say it’s bloated but the majority of mini games and quests are optional.
I’m not really as attached to the original as well -It fully deserves its 92 on metacritic.
Great video as always Newtro. As a souls player and casual RPG player, this game somehow manages to impress me and disappoint me. To explain furthermore: it has great graphics, fun gameplay, great characters, and an engaging story and a beautiful semi-open world. Now for the negatives: the face models can look weird at times, the acting is quite off in particular parts of cutscenes(like most JRPS) and the combat isn’t for everyone including myself. I think it’s amazing that you enjoy it. I enjoy the game quite a bit as well. But I would have to give it an 8 out of 10. Great work and hopefully 60K soon 🤞🙏

I hate to say it, but it’s only down hill from here. Other Final Fantasy’s are amazing as well. It’s just that FF7 Rebirth takes every lesson learned from every past final fantasy and makes the perfect FF game.
Still though, you should play them.
The pillows are so you can rest at chocobo stops that have broken benches.
Rebirth is better then 16 hate me it’s ok, I am OG FF player and fan, I really do miss the turn based tho. For what it is worth, rebirth is a good game however I feel like they bloated the game with a bunch of unnecessary mini games and side quest. It’s a solid 8/10 for me. I’ll be picking up part 3 day one.

with materia if u link a auto with a healing materia it will heal u automatically, if u do an auto with asess it will auto assess the enemy so the blue auto materia u can link with any other materia that u want to have it as a passive auto ability
it's not hard to understand, but i get how confusing it can be, u could always look up other youtube videos n how to link and use the materia.

What game has as much high quality content, for the amount of gameplay hours, for the amount of consistently good gameplay, 9 playable characters, good story, amazing music, and good open world, that came out this year? None. There’s nothing that came out this year that even comes close to it. Sorry.
Glad you are enjoying FF7 Rebirth. Look into a guide into the materia. It adds a lot of fun to the magic aspect of fighting. I really enjoyed the enemy skill materia that gives you some awesome abilities from the bigger bosses, you get it leveled up by assessing every enemy in a region and then the fight to get it unlocks with Chadley. There is also a fire AND ice materia and lightining AND wind materia when connect slotted with an elemental materia it can make you immune to either of those spells if on a bracelet or make all your basic attacks imbued with those elements if slotted on your weapon. Also, look into unlocking your weapon abilities on all weapons you find. It's a free ability you can use anytime, even if another weapon is equipped after you use it 3-4 times in battle. Weapons with the yellow checkmark have the ability unlocked. You are going to need everything for that final battle in the game. It's a long and hard one.

Being final fantasy fan was one reason I return to PS from Xbox I think rebirth took it another level from remake with open world rebirth and black myth top 2 games of year for me

I think give it a chance! Crisis Core and 7 Remake! You will love it once you get into it! I could be wrong though lol
FF7 Rebirth is basically part 2 of the FF7 story. At minimum you need to play FF7 Remake First.
For the most amount of lore and understanding of the characters, play CC, then 7 Remake, then Rebirth.. and know that part 3 is not out yet (unless you want to play the OG FF7 - it's very dated, but it IS the full story of FF7 that the FF7 remake and rebirth are expanding on, in new ways).

If they didn't have the mini games, OR, the mini games were fun, this game would have been great. As it was, the game felt like a slog. Huge FF7 fan here BTW.
a lot of the mini games are in the og though. Before rebirth came out ppl online were complaining saying that rebirth had better have lots of mini games.
You can't please everyone all of the time, but I will not complain when FF7 wants to give me MORE content (most of which is optional).
@@FranWest. Yes and it's nearly 30 years later. Game mechanics have moved on. Also, there are many more this time. And they are all poorly designed.
A lot are optional, but you need to complete them to get the best gear/summons. And optional or not, they are still bad.
Most of the mini games are optional and can be completely skipped. And even so, almost all of them are actually well designed and fun to play if you bother to engage with their mechanics, but again you don’t even have to. I struggle to understand how an FF7 fan could not like this game. The combat is some of the best in any game period.
@@Erikthedood the combat is great. The story is great. The mini games are not. The mini games are only optional if you don't want the best gear. And the mechanics of the mini games are awful in most cases. It's a common complaint. People don't hate them for the sake of it. If they hate them, there's something wrong.

Nothing comes close to its quality this year. Wukong is an average game at best. The only reason some people think it is is that they don’t play enough good single player games and don’t have anything else to compare it to.
