The attention to detail you're adding to your campaigns is really impressive. As an interesting side note, AAA continued to be a lethal threat long after WW2. In the Vietnam War AAA accounted for more US air combat losses than SAMs and enemy fighters *combined*. Thanks for your hard work!
Agree. All of that Cold War training concerning chucking nukes at each other didn't help during a more conventional conflict. Sadly, the mistake was repeated again during the opening weeks of Desert Storm. Thinking of the early A-6 strikes and RAF Tornado airfield interdiction.

I look forward to flying your WW2 campaigns when I upgrade my rig around November next year, with 4K VR I suspect starting with Wolfpack, which is the most immersive looking campaign I've seen anywhere going from lankypilot's sorties. I was never interested in WW2 for DCS, but seeing the work you put into these campaigns and the effort you put into the immersion makes me want to try all of them.
@@AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH-y5f Haha, haven't you flow the Tomcat? It's like a warbird with powerful jet engines. I absolutely hate FBW, it's like moving from manual transmission to automatic - you lose all control, and a computers tries to guess what you want to do instead.

Having issues with flak guns now again (2024) used to work great now they won’t fire at anything unless told to Fire at Point and that doesn’t work very well either. Any updates??
@@MovieLineMaddness the ww2 AI is broken in DCS with the new update. Not just AAA but aircraft can’t detect anything either. How on earth can I fix that from the mission editor? By the way ED is aware and already fixed it internally they said.
How many assets do you use on average per mission? I get to around 500 and I can feel the difference in the game engine. I sure wish the ME would get a major update.

Historically light AA ( 40mm or less ) shot down way, way more aircraft than heavy AA. It was deadly, especially the German quad 20mm Realistic WW-2 ground attack was almost impossible with the existing laser beam accuracy. Even giving myself every tactical advantage I could, there was no way to attack even a lightly defended ground target without heavy damage at best. That made the Mossie pointless, because what else can it do well ? I'm looking forward to these tweaks, and ED giving the Mossie delayed action fuses for the bombs and RP's - although I am not going to hold my breath until they do. ED tend to forget the WW-2 modules very quickly after initial release. The FW190's still have bugs and missing features years later. Once your money is in their bank account it's like extracting teeth to get them to finish a module - unless it's a Hornet of course. Sometimes I think they should change the name to Digital Hornet Simulator

Does the heavy flak stop firing under a certain height? I think german doctrine was for heavy flak only fire at 8+ thousand feet?
