  • The first ride with the new BMW R1250GS Adventure, featuring the new shift-cam technology boxer engine. It was a mostly off-road ride in Southern Spain, where this enormous motorcycle behaved surprisingly good. Here's our first impression about the new BMW R1250GS.

    Salut!
    Multumesc.

    Beautiful machine but waaaaay yo expensive to abuse it in the dirt ;) I would cry every time I dropped it 😢
    Ps: great videos as always :)

      GeoAlex , I sort of feel the same way. I could ride it on the dirt, but mud is not my thing! I also do not want a heart attack trying to drag a 240 kg motorcycle out of some mud hole.

      @@Below-Average_Joe yeah its no fun, believe me I did it on the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan with a 250kg bike (loaded) and it was just not possible to go farther :/ You need a light bike for sand and mud :)

    Am an armature rider in Kenya, Which bike would you recommend for me, am 1.7m tall, am planning to be doing about 1600 on road and 400km off road each month. High consideration on fuel consumption, maintenance and cost.

    All your videos are the best! Thank you! I just bought a new 1250 GSA this weekend. It is a fantastic machine! I have not taken it off road as of yet. It does not have the off road tires on it. How bad is it to try and utilize the stock tires off road?

  • @vriendelijkegroet
    @vriendelijkegroet 5 років тому +1

    You can also choose the 1250 GS instead of the GSA before you go for the f850 gsa.

    What is the diference with the f850? I mean who buys this instead of the f850. I only ride sportbikes and I dont understand the diference, One is for traveling the other more off road?, but you can put off road tires on both.

      the difference is 850cc and 1250cc lul

    • @freedomofmotion
      @freedomofmotion 5 років тому

      850 is more off road orientated, 1250 is more touring orientated.

    Many say that this bike is too heavy for off roading.Looks like it’s handling it ok in the video.

      It's not a motocross bike, of course. But with proper technique and a couple of friends to help you lift it up.. just in case, it's gonna be ok.

    Makes one wonder how many do-dads (bits and bobs, etc) manufacturers will continue to add to sell these big Crossover Bikes. The lifestyle marketing scheme (rediculously calling them "Adventure Bikes." Only a bagger dual sport can go on an adventure? Please) still brings folks in, but the trendy buyers in the US need continued elevation for bragging rights (like the iPhone). What's next? Magnetic suspension with adjustable ride height? Run flat tires? Self balancing? Multi fuel diesel? Electric? I hope the trend goes "less is more," like the Yamaha Tenere 700. Lighter, simpler, less expensive, touring capable dual sports. What a concept.

    So you drive 1000 miles from home with no fairing, get out of cell phone range, then take this 800 pound cow off road? Real world is ride an RT 1000 miles from home, park at the trail head, grab a walking stick, and enjoy nature in total silence.
