This guy is exactly what the sport of MMA needs...a guy that destroys tough-guy trash talkers in a commanding fashion and maintains a respect for true matial artists.
"like water" thats perfect...it's one thing to discribe yourself like that its another to actully be like it-jon bones jones the is the future... every fighter should try and be like water.
@Ttrotz True, the unexpected is always possible. I just don't see anyone that matches up with him well as far as fighting style, that will be able to close the distance at will. They would have to catch him coming forward, which he does at great angles. Looking forward to following his bright career for sure.
@ls033189 He's 23 he has amazing athletic ability but I can see him getting caught by some one we think he will destroy (or he will get DQ'd), but he is just going to improve, it's going to be amazing. I would say he should do TUF after Lesnar but he is younger than virtually all the competitors!
@Marko4ever12 ...because the biggest fight Bones had ever had was against Stephan Bonnar. Obviously all you see are wins and losses, and you don't bother to look at opponents, so I'm not going to argue with you any further. Your tenacity is admirable if misguided.
@TerryMMA85 Idk man, Jones' chin was tested a bit by two kicks in the jaw, one of which illegal, from Vera and still broke his face. Although Jones and Bader are a new breed of fighter, both being dope as hell, I think Jones will best him. Still gonna be a helluva fight
What exactly did Vera say that was offensive? I know he's good with words and has always been a bit cocky, but I never recall him saying anything really bad. Does anyone remember what pissed Jones off so much?
shogun would dominate in the striking department obviously, jon jones' strength would be his wrestling, he could ground and pound shogun but that wouldn't be easy. Holding down shogun is like holding down a huge fish.
Gray Maynard waited for his title shot because Sanchez and Edgar had already won their shot. Maynard's lackluster performance against Diaz didn't help him. Machida's biggest fight before his title shot was with Ortiz, far beyond his prime and nowhere near the title picture. Shogun got his title shot because of timing. He knocked out a UFC legend, and happened to be the only fighter worth the title shot. And he capitalized on it. Saying he doesn't deserve it after he wins the belt is pointless.
@Marko4ever12 1. Machida is in his prime. Shogun is in his prime. If you're psychologically compromised, you're weak. That's it. Shogun beat him fairly. 2. He got the title shot because he knocked the iconic Chuck Liddell out in less than a round and there were no other challengers in the wings. Rashad, Forrest and Rampage weren't in the running. No one else presented a decent challenge, and Shogun did. And he took the opportunity.
@thunderballzz Jones' stand up is not all that horrible bud. He catches a lot of fighters off guard with his unorthodox style. And elbows are legal in the UFC bud and it's effective for him, stop hating.
@youngbuck0911 this will sound crazy, but I want to see him fight silva, kongo, griffin, or overeem. I just want to see him fight someone with a reach that matches his and see what happens
@tylus17 I mean yeah Jon jones beating Anderson Silva is a possibility a very slim one at that but yeah its a possibility but i dont think that fight would ever happen for the reason that jon jones is not in anderson's main weight class and is still not on anderson's level to get that fight set up and to get on his level he will have to beat people like rashad and lyoto which i dont think he can do.
If Rashad can't beat him, who can? A better wrestler maybe? Couture? A better striker- Silva maybe? I don't know. Rashad has trained with him before, and is a top notch wrestler and striker.... But if he can weather the early storm and defend against these guys nobody will be able to touch him.
Once he beats Lyoto Michida, Rashad Evans, and Thiago Silva I will then say he is the best. You can't start counting out people just yet. He is amazing, but he is still human. I guarantee he will move up to the Heavyweight division by the time he turns 28 or 29..
Trash talking?? what trash talking?? Brandon Vera never did any trash talking what so ever!! Brandon Vera has to be one of the most humble fighters in the UFC. Jon Bones is the real deal but hes needs to know what trash talking is.
@lazerz4eyez With Silva I feel he woulkd out strike jones but I feel Jones would be too strong and a bit too heavy. I mean Silva would be just 205 and most LH come in slose to 225 these days.
What is this Vera trash talking Bones is talking about. Vera has been damn near respectable in all the pre-fight hype. He only said things that any other fighter would say to hype a fight and none of it was that offensive. Some of it was quite complimentary. Jones really has some growing to do. But credit where its due. Congrats on the win though. He really smoked my boy Vera.
@PuRpLeSmUrF05 He's a good guy. I don't doubt that Carwin is a good guy either but I dislike that same particular quality about him. I don't dislike either guy though. Either way, Jones is a future LHW champion imo. He just needs to get his hands on par with his awesome knees and kicks.
@mafiaguyzxxx Definitely.. Silva is just way faster. That's the key for him. I hope Jones gets a few more fights and paychecks before he has to go down at the hands of Silva.
Jones was upset because Vera said; " Jon Jones , the secvond coming of Jesus Christ haha" Jones thought that was disrespectful and him being a christian he didnt like him joking like that.
@BigJimbo106 nobody has a reach like jones 84.5"griffin 77 silva 75"even overeem 81 round about, not sure about kengo 79"rings a bell. Id like to see griffin vs jones i think it wud be a good fight someone needs to get jones down somehow and take advantage of his lack of bjj for most fighters in a good position on the ground seems the best place to beat jones once hes good with bjj then everybody else is screwed.
@OrionTheHunter1000 Bruce lee was like water. Jon Jones is a great philosopher following in the steps of the greats. I hope...no I will be like him one day.
Well, it's part of the game - trash talking in order to try to destabilize the opponent. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. And it's a selling tool. Sometimes it just makes opponents more willing to smash one's face. Against Jones - won't work at all. Just a waste of time. 'Cause he's like water - "Be like water, my friend".
Geez what a great role model and inspiration to aspiring mma fighters.
Cobi Obrien 😂😂😂
@@ijmula If only he could delete that comment now 😂
Holy shit this aged like cheese!!
Did not age well
This young man is wise beyond his years and surrounds himself with quality people
This guy is exactly what the sport of MMA needs...a guy that destroys tough-guy trash talkers in a commanding fashion and maintains a respect for true matial artists.
jones was so positive
Bones, you are the new generation. Soon, you'll be considered to be the greatest unarmed combatant to ever walk the planet.
i remember seeing him at UFC fan expo in the UK. he stayed and talked for ages. a fighter for the people! Go Jones!
this dude is a class act,if he stays in the Ufc long enough he could be one of the best give him time......
Stephen Landers is he still a class act now? lol. said he was a fake pos from day 1
He seems like such a humble guy. I can honestly I gained some respect for him just listening to him and how he carries himself.
hit then nail on the head when he said warrior, he truly is
Nevermind his skill as a fighter, he's ridiculously humble and polite, something you rarely see these days in general let alone in the sport of MMA.
I'm a fan, looking forward the next bones fight
"i can be a superstar when i retire." class act!
"I can be a superstar when I retire"
great attitude
When he said "I fight because I love it" you can tell he meant it in how he emphasized it
"like water" thats perfect...it's one thing to discribe yourself like that its another to actully be like it-jon bones jones the is the future... every fighter should try and be like water.
After UFC would be cool to see him in some movies.. Solid mindset.. Your naturally a superstar!
@Ttrotz True, the unexpected is always possible. I just don't see anyone that matches up with him well as far as fighting style, that will be able to close the distance at will. They would have to catch him coming forward, which he does at great angles. Looking forward to following his bright career for sure.
True martial artist no matter what anyone says, didnt like him at first but this dudes raw and hes got class no bullshit talk.
I love how this video doesn't have any dislikes
@Ttrotz No doubt! The way he went through Shogun, I don't see any current lightheavyweights beating him.
does anyone know what his tattoo says on his chest?
I don't remember the name of it but I did see a throw that I've seen in my kids Judo class.
His fight for the title is today!!! COME ON JONES!!!!
@ls033189 He's 23 he has amazing athletic ability but I can see him getting caught by some one we think he will destroy (or he will get DQ'd), but he is just going to improve, it's going to be amazing. I would say he should do TUF after Lesnar but he is younger than virtually all the competitors!
lmao! No kidding. Rampage would be a tough fight. He is almost impossible to knockout or submit. Be interesting to see Jones chin tested.
Jones is BEAST. Best young fighter in the business. Probably the best fighter in the business, period, IMO.
This guy is classy. Future champ. Guarantee.
I really like and respect this guy....I like people that show that its not your mouth that makes you brutally devastating....he took it to Vera hard
jones doest just hurt his opponent, he makes the crowd feel it. that spinning back elbow...DAMM
He doesn't need a KO, just a TKO.
THAT FIGHT WITH SHOGUN, true definition of a beat down.. Beat him down until he couldnt fight anymore..beatdown..
Like water!! perfect description!
I didnt see Judo in the vera fight? Looked like wrestling
yaaaaaay jon jones is back
Future light-heavyweight champ
@Marko4ever12 ...because the biggest fight Bones had ever had was against Stephan Bonnar.
Obviously all you see are wins and losses, and you don't bother to look at opponents, so I'm not going to argue with you any further. Your tenacity is admirable if misguided.
@tylus17 that might happen next year if jones is still successful in the octagon hopefully
Hard to be humble when you stunnin on a Jumbotron.
@TerryMMA85 Idk man, Jones' chin was tested a bit by two kicks in the jaw, one of which illegal, from Vera and still broke his face. Although Jones and Bader are a new breed of fighter, both being dope as hell, I think Jones will best him. Still gonna be a helluva fight
damn this guy is like anderson silva in light heavyweight.
BONES OWNS!!!!
@milkeyUK ok tell me some of the trash talk he said about bones?
What exactly did Vera say that was offensive? I know he's good with words and has always been a bit cocky, but I never recall him saying anything really bad. Does anyone remember what pissed Jones off so much?
hope he keeps a level head.
THE NEW CHAMPION HES THE REAL DEAL!!
@Devon187 thats what i was sayin...brandon vera never trash talked about bones
his voice is very similar to 50cent`s voice :D
shogun would dominate in the striking department obviously, jon jones' strength would be his wrestling, he could ground and pound shogun but that wouldn't be easy. Holding down shogun is like holding down a huge fish.

@thisiswarson not only rua, all of his opponents were beaten with ease, remarkable!
@FWQR3T true, he gets a bjj blackbelt, its over. I was hoping to see what would happen against phil davis, but theres no chance of that happening now.
Jones completely dominated shogun, the man who was once thought to be the best at 205.
@mafiaguyzxxx Agreed. He's a great new talent and he's great for the UFC in general. He still has some work to do.
@Marko4ever12
@mafiaguyzxxx i dont think that fight will happen. When Jones reaches his prime, Anderson will probably either have retired or passed his prime.
@headstrong420 yeah man fight has been confirmed for ufc 130 it''s gonna be the co-main event the main event might be frankie edgar and gray maynard 3
Shogun vs. Bones!!!
@thunderballzz
Jones' stand up is not all that horrible bud. He catches a lot of fighters off guard with his unorthodox style. And elbows are legal in the UFC bud and it's effective for him, stop hating.

I would like to know what Vera said becuz it looked more liked Jones just snap like a big baby..
I feel bad for Vera Jonny's elbow has to be the most brutal ive ever seen in my life not even from a HW.
If Rashad can't beat him, who can? A better wrestler maybe? Couture? A better striker- Silva maybe? I don't know. Rashad has trained with him before, and is a top notch wrestler and striker.... But if he can weather the early storm and defend against these guys nobody will be able to touch him.
@headstrong420 naw man i thought so to but rampage won and rampages next fight is against thiago silva at ufc 130 i think
he is the usain bolt of mma !
@Goatmonger1 No shit.. We have only heard Dana White, Joe Rogan, Mike Golberg and 200 other people publicy say this..
Once he beats Lyoto Michida, Rashad Evans, and Thiago Silva I will then say he is the best. You can't start counting out people just yet. He is amazing, but he is still human. I guarantee he will move up to the Heavyweight division by the time he turns 28 or 29..
Hey you still around lol.
Trash talking?? what trash talking?? Brandon Vera never did any trash talking what so ever!! Brandon Vera has to be one of the most humble fighters in the UFC.
Jon Bones is the real deal but hes needs to know what trash talking is.
I like Shogun, but he better enjoy that belt while he still can.
@jbermudez2006 Jones came out and admitted it but he said that rashad was overreacting , Rashad is a very good wrestler but so is Jones IDK
@lazerz4eyez With Silva I feel he woulkd out strike jones but I feel Jones would be too strong and a bit too heavy. I mean Silva would be just 205 and most LH come in slose to 225 these days.
@WallyMcWalsen Definitely bro. Totally agree %100
@MrPowerman101 Yea I heard about that. Thats actually a complement. If Jones thinks thats trash talk, wait till he fights someone like rampage lol
@33pantera all i can do is smile :) - now that he showed vera where his place is.
`Keep it funky and let Jesus lead you. Congratulations.
Man i cant wait till february when he tears ryan bader apart. Its gonna be epic
@ImperialDecree lol your right thanks bro
@Goatmonger1 This guy IS the light heavy devision.
What is this Vera trash talking Bones is talking about. Vera has been damn near respectable in all the pre-fight hype. He only said things that any other fighter would say to hype a fight and none of it was that offensive. Some of it was quite complimentary. Jones really has some growing to do.

@tylus17 Its not "Spiderman", its "Spider". Just so you know. Ok, I'll shut up now...
@Xionc granted he hasn't fought the best
if he beats bader he will be consider great and fight top tier guys hopefully!!
@mafiaguyzxxx Definitely.. Silva is just way faster. That's the key for him. I hope Jones gets a few more fights and paychecks before he has to go down at the hands of Silva.
Last person in the world i would ever want to fight. Dude breaks faces
His eye socket is crushed as well lol
@F4stFow4rd25 Whatever you say, bro. I'll be cheering for Bones Jones.
Jones was upset because Vera said; " Jon Jones , the secvond coming of Jesus Christ haha"
Jones thought that was disrespectful and him being a christian he didnt like him joking like that.
NO TECHINCALLY HE IS DEFEATED. BUT ACTUALLY we know his hasnt lost
VERA=OWNED
@infantry031 Hmmm, his arms are longer than his legs and he uses his elbows to survive. Sounds like something from national geographic.
he needs to work with KARO
jone is the best
Dana please feed Anderson Silva to Jon Jones, and let Jon break Silvas orbital bone as well
Jon Bones Jones VS. Anderson Silva
