Flotation device, spikes for your sandals, discussion of where the waves are coming from - hopefully this will make this all less likely to have angling casualties. One of the best hr long videos I've seen in a long time and I don't even have the time for those videos. Definitely brought back memories of fishing back home with my Grandfather and Dad when we fought one of the biggest silver salmon ever. It took all three of taking turns on the pole and steering the boat. We ended up losing it once the fish made to the spit and it was gone. That's was the best and toughest fishing ever

Not sure if people do this, but it seems like if you have a big fish hooked and another person with you, could one person jump in with a spear gun and spear the fish when it gets close to landing? Seems like it would be a better alternative than trying to land it? I also don’t know much about all this but been watching your spear videos too and seemed like a good idea.

Japan and it's many islands are beyond beautiful. many don't realize how cold it get's at night on big water even in warm months. It's funny when you still have your snow gear on and walk inland and all of a sudden it's hot and everyone is looking at you like at you like there's something wrong with you

I lived for 2 years on Okinawa from 1967 to 1969. It gets chili there in the winter and there were Typhoons. I sat through one earth quake. The fishing was not good. I lived At the Naha Air Base. It was a nice place.

Great episode Taku. I see there are Korean boats that are set up to land onto rocks like that. They look like tug boats with tires up front and side to act as bumpers and with a front ramp to make it easier to enter/exit boat. Crazy how they off load fisherman to rocks in the middle of the sea. And come back to pick them up the next day. What an adventure... definitely need to have some knowledge of how to handle oneself out there. That's why they got so many gear such as spikey boots and butt and hip pads to allow that type of rocky shore fishing.
