Agreed! It's pretty refreshing to me as a consumer. I suspect the limited number of devices in the lineup also helps them keep the user experience more stable/unified since they have to account for less types of hardware

Very cool. Wouldn't it be nice if the landscape mode was actually available in many more contexts ? Like for note taking, for ebook (for the a5x, to have 2 pages displayed like with an actual paper book). Also, is there a way that in note taking mode, the virtual "sheet of paper", or writing surface, is larger than the physical screen, and accessible just by dragging (I don't know, 2 fingers for example) the surface around, and so the resulting note is bigger than what the screen displays (at equal level of zoom) ? I don't know, i'm new to this device/ecosystem.. Thx
Your videos are excellent, and I don't even have an e-ink device (yet)! On that note, which would you recommend for a TTRPG game master: Boox Note Air 2 or the Supernote A5X? The big need is for reading and annotating textbook sized PDFs for the rulebooks and adventure guides, writing campaigns, and sketching the occasional diagram.
This is great! One question: can you use the trim/crop tool together with split-view? IMO, this would be even better for increasing the relative font size!

For me, I only get an icon called "Half page View" so either, I don't have the newest update or its just the PDF I'm viewing. I don't have these benefits in portrait mode, only landscape with 'page' hands turning symbols
They might have updated the wording (I think people got confused with split page) but the function should be the same. I’m not sure I understand what you mean by portrait mode not working; using the mode, PDF documents which are already in portrait orientation can be viewed in landscape (top and bottom half) and documents already in spread/landscape orientation can be viewed in portrait (left and right half).
Viewed “normally” (half page mode not used) the hands don’t show up on PDFs. Hope that helps!
Hi! Congratulations, your videos are so good! I'm thinking in buying an e-ink tablet. For my use case is indispensable to, in a PDF, select text by highlighting it, and I saw in a previous video of yours that (at the date of that video), you couldn't highlight text in PDF in SP, just highlight as a drawing.
That's still the case? Or Ratta already had that feature?

I can't get this to work. It has the half page option but it only ever shows the top half of the PDF, not two pages side-by-side as shown here. I just got my A5X yesterday. What am I missing? EDIT: I noticed yours says "split view," while mine says "half page view." Not sure what's going on

Hello again! Thanks for the post. In my last comment on your previous video, I mentioned that I was a student. I was wondering how easy it is for me to switch back and forth from reading a pdf textbook and notepad for notetaking.
Hello again! :) Switching between one of each is pretty easy, the Note and Document options (in the side/top bar) are actually "apps"--so you can use them to toggle between an open note file and an open document (e.g. PDF) file. Hope that makes sense!

Maybe something that covers note taking tips, managing, importing textbooks, how to efficiently read textbooks, highlighting textbooks, study methods using an a5x, organizing notes for subjects and of course multitasking!

Hi, pixel leaves! You're from the Philippines, right? I just want to ask about the tax fees imposed on the Supernote A6x. Is there any or is it tax-free? I'm planning to buy one this week so I want to know if there are any additional charges, just in case. Also, is it delivered right at your doorstep or did you get it from the customs office?

Yes, I am! :) I paid taxes/duties and they shipped through DHL, for the A6X I think it was around Php 3k. It was delivered straight to my door.
I should really use that quick access feature. As for a planner what template do you use for an entire planner? I been using separate planners on a week basis.

Curious, how long did it take you to install the update? I loaded it onto my A5X hoping it would be done in my hour break between class but it's taking a while longer lol. Great video!

@@RxTheHarmacist it’s the front half of a regular Lamy EMR pen with the body of a regular, ink Lamy pen! They’re exactly the same body and screw in perfectly. There’s a link to listings of the specific type of pen in the description :)
thanks! if you flip to Notes while viewing PDFs in landscape.. what happens? the notes are still in landscape?
As mentioned in the video this is a PDF-only feature.

I am considering buying the supernote A6x, but I have a question: do you think it can be suitable to read program code on it?
To *read* only I don't see why not, did you mean in PDF? I think the only consideration would be screen size. If you wanted to edit code, I don't really type on mine so I'm not sure how viable the Word program is for that!

Can you read Kindle books in landscape with continuous scroll? It’s probably what will make me decide between sizes. I really like the smaller form factor, but I’m afraid it might not be big enough. Landscape could be the solution to some things I think I want a bigger screen for.
This landscape mode is only for PDFs, not the Kindle app.
Everything is great except for the price $550, compare to remarkable 2 $330.
Not disputing there is a price difference but isn’t that the RM2 price without a pen or case?
Regardless, I don’t live in the shortlist of countries Remarkable ships to, so for me (to pay for a forwarding service too etc) and others cost is about the same, with warranty claims more of a hassle 😅
@@pixelleaves That's true, I mostly use it at home and no need for the case. The pen is $50. The $330 already include tax and pen.

This feature is not available on Kindle ! I personally don’t find supernote that useful for reading. It is just a miniature garbage for the price. Unfortunately, will have to stick with iPad for a while.
