5 Reasons this Tablet Changed my LIFE!

- Here are my 5 reasons the Supernote A6X paper tablet changed my life and why it is my favorite tablet for writing and productivity. While my iPad has more functionality the fact that the Supernote strips away all the distraction-filled unnecessary bells and whistle is why it's the best writing and productivity tool for me.
It's weird thinking that something that gives you "less" can actually be a better device but in this case it's true. I've been finding lately that I have been buying devices and "tools" that specialize in certain areas rather than something that tries to give me everything.

It’s funny how smartphones and tablets flew off shelves because of their near limitless versatility. And now here we all are trying to get back to something simpler, but not TOO simple lol. I like where this market is going. Personally, I just want to replace all my notebooks for college so I can fit more useful things into my small capacity commuter backpack. Can’t wait for my Supernote to arrive
Couldn’t agree more. I went crazy for products that could do everything, now I actively try to avoid those things.
Been contemplating to buy this for a long time. Your video justifies it furthermore. Thanks.
Good to hear! I hope you enjoy it!
This is the best review on Supernote I've seen on youtube. Great job!
Thanks, Ana. I’m thinking I might do a 6 month review soon!
Great video. I just ordered mine and am super excited!
Have fun!
Thank you for the review. I am seriously thinking about buying one soon and your video just made me see how it could improve my productivity. Peace & love to all
Good to hear! It has definitely helped my productivity and helped keep me organized over the past year.
Excellent video. I have the A5X and use it for the planner and a ton of notebooks.
Thanks, Steve! Are you liking the full-sized version? Sometimes I like the smaller form factor of the A6X but I find myself wondering if the full-sized A5X would be something I would have liked better.
I want to concentrate on the essentials and a standard tablet is too much of a distraction. Good post and very well conveyed
Thank you! I had the same feelings which is why I went with the supernote - I don’t regret it.
You deserve more views and subscribers, you do quality product reviews!
Thank you! 🙏
Thanks
Great video!
Thank you!
Great video. Those are my top reasons too. Just thinking between two brands SUPERNOTE or BOOX. I like the simplicity of the SUPERNOTE. No distractions. Also being well organized and not carrying multiple moleskin notebooks. Keep on writing. It’s what’s missing in the youths today. 👍🏻
Thanks, Jon. I looked at the Boox as well but I was told that the Supernote had better customer support and I have been VERY pleased with their openness and responsiveness. They are super upfront about their updates and their roadmap into the future while engaging and listening to their users on the Supernote Reddit thread. Good luck!
@@GaryLawrenceTV either way as long as we stick to writing. Not like what I’m doing typing. Haha. I just put in my order for BOOX. which ever you decide hope you enjoy. 👍🏻🤙🏻
I'm really intrigued by the supernote paper tablet and want one just because I like electronic gadgets. I get the point that is a great alternative to paper notebooks. I understand the point that it frees you from the distractions that come with a full-featured iPad, Windows, or Android tablet. But my note taking style involves more than just hand-writing my notes. I also need to copy and paste images or text from other programs or the internet. Also, as much as I like writing notes by hand, there are times I need to type my notes with a physical keyboard. Not being able to do that would be very restrictive. That's why I love using the OneNote app in my Microsoft Surface Go and Android tablets. Nevertheless, I am still very tempted to buy a supernote tablet anyway just because it would be fun to use.
I agree, it's definitely not the most feature-packed tool for note taking. For me it works really well as a place to start but I hear your points about your need for copy and pasting images and text from other programs. It is fun to use, however, and there's nothing wrong with getting a gadget because it's fun to use lol.
for your information: you can connect a bluetooth keyboard to the supernote and write with that into word files.
Absolutely. And you can convert handwritten words into text. I haven’t tried the keyboard since the new update but I have heard it has improved response time.
My son, just got the latest Galaxy phone from Samsung...and that thing might just make me ditch my iPhone. You can do much of what you just described above.
If you need a bit more take a look at BOOX. They just released a new device. I’m still thinking for myself weather to get SUPERNOTE or BOOX. Hhhmmm…
Thanks for the continuing updates, I’m really loving the latest one!
Thanks. I was struggling and trying to justify why I am not getting a Tablet (non-samsung, or non-apple) since the price is almost similar. Your video confirmed about productivity!
I had the same thoughts - trying to justify buying something that has “less” features. But, in this case, less is more.
After which, I checked the price of supernote at their website, selected the accessories. And start to rethink about the tablet that I thought initially.
@@ngheeguanng5931 haha me too, it’s definitely not inexpensive.
Nice video. I see it has a toc feature. Do you use that to get to pages?
Thanks! Yeah the table of contents is super helpful. You just highlight a word and turn it to a title - it then gets added to the toc. Super easy and keeps everything organized
0:32 "An iPad is a swiss army knife, this is a surgeons scalpel." Love that line! So, Im looking to get this A6X, this video was uploaded about a year ago... is it a solid product? Do you find the screen size is a bit too small or good enough? I cant decide from this, A6X or possibly the A5X. But Im thinking the A5X might be a bit too big, for me anyways. What are your one year thoughts on the A6X? Also I wanted to ask if you find that the device doesn't have any light capability... is that a disappointment or not really a concern for ya?
In the past I would use smaller pocket-sized notebooks and found that I tend to write small so the A6X was a good fit for me. I also like to take it with me when I’m on the go so the smaller size helps there too. If I was just going to be writing/using it at home I would probably go with the bigger A5X. Not having a backlight is not a dealbreaker for me. There have been a few times when I’ve been in bed and could have used the backlight but my wife bought me a little LED light for reading and I use that in those situations.
@@GaryLawrenceTV Cool, thanks for letting me know. I too have been using the smaller pocket-sized notebooks for years, so I feel the A6X would be a better option cause of the portability factor. 👍
Great Vid.. I got this about month ago as well and loving it. My Samsung S7+ was to distracting, I would drift off to surfing the web or YT.
Thanks! I hear you, I always find my self drifting with anything that is connected to the internet (phone,iPad,laptop).
@@GaryLawrenceTV I agree with all your reasons too .. one of my own is drawing. I find myself just drawing and taking a break from being connected.. no email/alerts etc. Its become like my yoga.
@@RandoRaf I wish I could draw but as you can probably tell from my stick figures and my terrible handwriting I can’t draw lol
You might’ve just sold me on the size.
Chomping at bit for my A6X to arrive tomorrow. I’ve been using journals to take notes for years and ready for simplification and ability to use keywords for searching notes faster. What is battery life like?
Excited for you. The battery life is not bad - depends how much you use it. I usually charge it every 4 days if I’m using it a lot - a week or longer if I am just doing things intermittently.
@@GaryLawrenceTV - I'm seeing about same. I use it nearly every day. I've yet to really utilize index / tags, but looking forward testing. I've been syncing to dropbox as well.
Great video. Are you also reading ebooks on it?
I’m not really an Ebooks guy, I prefer a paper book. However, I have read a couple books on here - feels very similar to a kindle. Just remember there is no backlight so no reading in the dark.
Just wondering if you still use your Supernote daily. I just got mine and am still figuring out how best to use for my workflow
I am still using it - the daily planner and for business meeting notes pretty much daily. Everyone’s workflow is different so it takes some time and trial and error to find out what works best for you but I found it worth it. Good luck!
Did you have the planner customized for the a6x or did this work well as is, even though it says it's a5x? I've wondered this about planners for a6x, since most I find say they're for A5x.
I got the one for the A5x even though I have an A6x. It’s not a perfect match but it’s like 98%. The menu bar at the top encroaches just a bit into the top of the planner but it doesn’t impede any functionality - it just looks like things are a little tight at the top of the screen.
@@GaryLawrenceTV great to know. Thanks!
No problem!
I am debating on going with a 5 or 6. Why did you choose the 6 and any advise on pro/cons?
I went with the 6 because it was smaller and I knew I wanted to bring it with me when I was on the road and wanted to travel light. If I traveled with a briefcase/backpack ect. I would probably go with the bigger A5. My handwriting is naturally small so I think I lean towards smaller tablets/notepads. Hope that helps.
Hi Gary, great video! Do you find it easy to write in the a6x or would you have preferred an a5x?
I thought when I first got the A6X that maybe I should have gone for the bigger A5x but as time has gone on I’ve really enjoyed the smaller form factor of the A6X. It fits perfectly in my laptop bag and I find that I take it everywhere I go - I don’t think that would be the case with the bigger A5x. I would say if you are just planning on keeping the device at home then go with the A5 but if you plan to be on the move and want to take it with you the A6 would be a better choice imo.
How often do you charge this?
Depends on if I’m writing a lot or just my normal amount. Usually I’m charging it every 4 days if I’m using it a lot. A week or longer if I am just using my daily planner and not writing a lot.
Can it speak & text ? Or a reader. ?
There is no speech to text if that is what you are asking for. You can write via the stylus and convert that to text. It also has a kindle app that you can use so you can take advantage of it as an e-reader. Hope that helps
… without light?
Correct, there is no backlight. I’d be happy to see that in a future model.
How does one use any type of PDF planner if one wants to postpone some of what one hoped to do for a certain day to another day? Is cut and paste possible, or at least copy and paste where one goes back to then delete the task on the day one did not complete it on. My feeling is I will use notes of tasks that need doing and then only copy the notes of the item on the day it does get completed.
I typically use the cut and paste function. At night I usually finish checking off all the tasks that I completed for the day and then cut/copy and paste the tasks I did not complete to the next day. Both cut and paste and copy and paste are possible and very intuitive to use.
batty batty saucy roll . battered sausage roll
I believe Voltaire said something similar.
Why the A5X and not the A6X?
I went with the A6X over the A5x because the 6 is smaller and I knew I wanted to have it with me wherever I go. Fits really nice in my laptop case. If I was just going to be using it at home I would have gone with the larger A5
@@GaryLawrenceTV okay makes sense. I'm torn between the two. I currently have an 8.5 by 11 moleskin I like and also a smaller daily planner. I like both so I'm leaning towards the bigger one as I will use it in board meetings, training and what not, so I'll usually have a desk.
Before I bought the A6X I used the small 4 inch moleskin notebooks and I write really small so I felt comfortable going with a smaller notebook. It seems like you would enjoy the bigger A5x imo. Good luck! 👍
what are you writing about for so long
