I am retired and I like finding deals on stuff. EBay gives me the outlet for these finds. It's not life altering money, but it's a nice hobby income. I sell about $20K to $25K per year. Amen on selling bibles, you are doing people a service! My area in NC was hit by Hurricane Helene. Before the storm hit, I changed my handling time to THIRTY days. Good thing as we lost power, phone, water, internet. I got as many sales as usual which was shocking. I sent each buyer a message "Sorry about handling time, we have been hit by the hurricane". Had to go to city hall to get internet. Only one cancelled, the rest hung with me.
I do three day handling. But we have no package pickup or delivery in my town, I have to take everything to the post office. I ship nearly everything within 1 day anyhow, but it's nice to be able to walk out when there are 16 people on line, and just bring the stuff the next day. Having 3 day policies also saved me last winter when the clerk didn't scan some packages properly, and my items popped up in scans at the next location within my 3 day handling time. I do 1 day handling. Keeps top rated status. Friday sales you get until Monday. I have a 100% ship rate for handling. I may do a longer handling if it's a large package for a particular item.

15:50 minutest in... I use the 3-day shipping but 99.9% of the time it will ship the following day unless it sells by 6am est, then I will do what I can to include it in that morning's mail pick up which can range from 9am-11am.
No! It's ok to HATE AMAZON! They made reselling HELL for small 3rd party sellers. I made a lot of money selling on Amazon 8-9 years ago, but this kind of thing is just one of 1001 reasons I pulled every listing and moved them over to eBay. This $50,000 in refunds kind of thing happens ALL THE TIME, and when this happens you have almost no recourse. You can email customer service and HOPE somebody responds, but 99 times out of 100 you get only a canned response that likely has nothing to do with the problem you have and shows that no human actually even read your email. You end up sending emails 3-4 times before getting a human to respond who either understands or gives a damn about your problem. At that point it's already several days AFTER the problem occurred.
I have 2 day handling time. I usually get to the post office every day, but I like having that buffer. I used to sell a lot of Amazon but am dialing back quite a bit. I got re-gated in several things. Plus the returns are killers
I could still come back and do them occasionally. The changes that Amazon have gone through is making it not as much fun anymore. So, we will see as each year goes by.

HOWEVER, I lost my Top-Rated seller rating because, they said, I wasn't mailing on the same day. I told them YES, I absolutely was mailing same day! HOWEVER, I found out that if the post office closes at 4:30pm and I get a sale at 11:59pm, I am REQUIRED to mail it by midnight since I have my listings set as same day shipping. Now, mind you, I live within 3 blocks of the post office, but even if I ran it down there by 11:59pm, the post office is closed. Ebay said that doesn't matter. If my settings have it listed as same day shipping, I am required to mail it same day even if the post office is closed. Go figure.

It’s pronounced High-den. Hayden is what it looks like and I’d love to have that box. I’m on 2 online platforms and can’t sell anything anymore. Lots of savers and watchers they stay for a long time or they stay for a few days and then go. Offer button is in the on position but, nothing. Turnaround time for me is 2 days.
@@goldenstatepicker I HAD 1800 items listed of error coins, sports trading cards and old books. I used to do 45 items a month. In May of 2022 I sold a book from 1916 for $4138.00. It was all downhill from there. Selling for 10 years. I know of others who have sold 11,000 items who were on longer than me. They are gone now. It’s not necessarily the economy.

Both the RE-GATING and the returns are a huge issue.
Yep, AMZ is gating almost everything I try to list. And they auto-refund before the product is even in your possession.
I quit selling on Amazon... would probably only do Amazon again if I design/sell my own item. Amazon just took too much work with not enough reward.

I do 1 day 5 days a week I don’t ship on weekends till off season I will start to ship on Saturday
