By now, most hardcore Gundam fans have read about the potential break in the Gundam Newtype theory; based on a recent NASA publication. Unfortunately, most of the articles published online are not accurate. Rather, they misrepresented or misinterpreted the data. A change in gene expression is not the same as change in DNA. Nothing crazy was out of the ordinary, and certainly nothing that can potentially lead to the next step in the human evolution.
This video will give you a quick break down on what NASA analysis actually meant. Reality crushed my Gundam fan connection, but we may never know what the future holds. Thanks for watching!
Newtypes
" is a person who has reached a new stage of human evolution in the Gundam universe. The theory behind this minor but groundbreaking metamorphosis is: in order to adapt to life in space, the human body evolved with heightened mental awareness. As such, Newtypes tend to appear among Spacenoids, although not exclusively (Amuro Ray, arguably the most famous Newtype, was actually born on Earth although he is raised in space). Appearing in the Universal Century timeline (chronologically the first), they are also present in the After War timeline.
A similar type of human being called Coordinators exists in the Cosmic Era timeline of Gundam SEED, although their evolution is artificially obtained by genetic engineering. Coordinators' distinguished abilities are more physical as opposed to mental but they have a similar heightened spatial awareness like Newtypes. The series' director Mitsuo Fukuda identified some protagonists (like Mu La Flaga) as Newtypes, even though the term does not exist within the plot itself."

When I heard about these news articles I was thinking, "I can finally have debates/arguments in a Space Mind Ocean?" .

Eh... I wouldn't say this is NewType.
But it would be interesting to see if the human race would evolve if we moved and lived in other planets and regularly traveled from planet to planet.
If we have newtypes confirmed this would be a discovery that will change the world.
He probably only lived in space a year or 2 remember amuro was born on earth but he lived his whole life in space if you calculate it he lived 29 years in space living inside a colony he often visits earth but he was the first newtype to be announced and i bet when the first newtype gets known humanity wouldn't accept he or she so easily because of his psychic powers then they will perform an experiment on him saying its for the good of humanity it just proves how ignorant can human get when they knew someone has psychic powers.
He needs to spend more time in space. That's why.
You could say I'm somewhat of a Newtype.. One time I astral travel into outer space and when I was up there and floating I could feel the expansion of my awareness due to the vastness of space.. I could see the Earth and it was amazingly beautiful from afar but not as amazing as the Sun.. its what I felt.. the Sun was emanating particles of energy/prana throughout all of space.. I could see and feel the energy heightening my awareness, drive and willpower.. the particles of energy looked similar to that of GN particles from Setsuna at the end of Gundam00.
Have you looked into what astronauts in space experienced.. it's called the Overview Effect. Majority of them are changed by the experience.
Whatever pure bred innovators are better.
