When an 11-year-old boy got home from school, he knew something wasn't right. He heard something strange and then saw an intruder in his house. Allan Shneyderman says when he saw the man, they both took off running. Allen went straight to a neighbor's house to get help. A security camera in the family's home helped police identify the man as 23-year-old Thomas Coughlin, a local landscaper. He was arrested and charged with burglary and theft. #InsideEdition

This happened to me when I came home, but the intruder had already left. Honestly one of the scariest things to happen. Didn't feel safe in my own home for months, and I still get nervous when a random car parks outside.
Have you tried diet pills or fish oil?
How scary! No doubt that would leave some scars.
How about a dog? A German Shepherd would be great but even a yappy little dog can be a detterent. Make sure you leave a an extra large dog bowl outside of the door for the potential thief to see.

@@lorimav I agree with 4 Veritas. Or if you don't want the dog, just do a dog bowl, beware of dog sign, and maybe even get a little noise maker that barks every now and then 😆. Also if you get one of those signs that says something about you being a gun owner (even if your not) that would help too. Stay safe! ❤

The kid definitely does not have the "best" memory. He said the intruder was wearing a hoodie, which was not true. He also said the intruder was wearing "yellowish" shoes, but the shoes look white at 0:24 in the video.
He was traumatised by the incident; we tend to photographically remember our traumas.

The police then came , but not to help him but to interrogate him.
Apparently someone robbed the corner store next to us while we were running and he sorta matched the description.

Especially if an 11 year old is exposed to this. Full grown adults find it hard to cope after being burgled. Let alone see the intruder, let alone be a child and be all alone with an intruder.

But anyway I walked in like "sup man". The intruder looked terrified and tried to run away, but I chased him down with my helicopter. Then the police came and arrested him. And in the end everyone stood up and clapped.

You asked 4 years ago but theft or larceny involves taking property without the use of force and without breaking into a structure to do so. Robbery involves taking property from a person through force or the threat of force, while burglary involves breaking into a structure to commit a crime.
